Dallas and Vegas were in this years Final 4 too. It does not guarantee success I do agree there, but I do think it is a big help for these franchises and a determinant to say, Buffalo, Winnipeg and other smaller markets in higher tax situations.
-
One of several examples. Teams in Texas, Florida, Nevada have major cap advantages over teams in higher tax areas..Can add up to 6-7M advantage, Think of what teams can do with that extra cap space.
-
Matt Murray 4 years 6.25M AAV to Ottawa: Anton Khudobin 3 years, 3.5M AAV back to Dallas. Tax advantages help. The evidence is overwhelming

Turns out the information was fake, damn twitter bots my bad on that everyone

Markstrom to Calgary likely

Fast would be a GREAT move for Buffalo
-
The Wild have Stalock, move Dubynk, and then sign Tablot for 3 years? And they have an elite goalie prospect one of the best anywhere? Very strange goalie moves from Minnesota
-
Im on board for Stralman to Buffalo too

Rumor is Oilers are making big offer to Markstrom From Cap Friendly: Placing Tyler Johnson on waivers could also be a way for Tampa to get around his No Trade Clause. Meaning that Tampa could have a deal in place where a club has agreed to pick him up off waivers, and then that club makes a separate deal for 'future considerations' with Tampa.

Tyler Johnson might be a nice cost friendly move for the Sabres

Mike Hoffman to Buffalo -
He really did. Now I must admit, Ive only watching highlights online and read a lot about these players but if Button is 80 percent right I think we will all be thrilled with this pick down the line.
-
So based on the overwhelming negativity here about this pick does anyone take joy in Craig Button comparing Jack Quinn to David Pastrnak?

Let me ask you all though: Let's say Pegula sets a budget and things will be rough for a couple of years. If so, this team probably can't truly compete next 2-3 years and Eichel and Dahlin will be wasted. What IF the Sabres blew it up completely, and say, got the top pick this year for the Rangers for Lafrienere involving Eichel? And Dahlin would get back a TON. Imagine how Adams can reshape their roster top to bottom and the system and truly put this franchise where it needs to be while the budget issues go away after 2 years or so. I cringe as I type this, but at this point, why not? -

Rangers get a 5 spot jump to get Kaapo Kakko: Check. Rangers 'win' lottery with mysterious ping pong ball the next season in odd format: Check. League orchestrates a almost 6M cap relief for the Rangers that makes absolutely ZERO sense for the Red Wings or any other team? Checkmate. -
Kim Performance Incentives?

Do they pay in Pegula Bucks or actual legal tender?

Just wanted to say goodbye everyone it was fun here while sports was fun, but the time has come to say goodbye and focus my money, energy and priorities on more important things. Sports was supposed to be an escape for all of us, and now they have clearly shown this is not the case. Before you jump the gun i am not a right wing extremist by any stretch of the imagination, Im a middle of the road thinker who believes in caring, love, peace and balance. Sports in general has clearly shown that they are not in the same lane. Therefore, I will find other things to take up my time. I wish you all well and hope the Sabres give you one day what you all deserve a team to be proud of.

Interesting, Ill have to take an even closer look at Lundell, I did think he skating was pretty good but I need to compare him more to others around where we pick. Jarvis is intriguing I agree. Another possible angle here is: At 8, and no Askarov picked at that time, and Minnesota sitting at 9 and maybe even a Nashville who might bite in a goalie like Askarov, could a team like Edmonton yearn to jump to 8 to take a player like Askarov and the Sabres move down to 14, still have a good position in the 1st round, where we can get a player like Jarvis and pickup more draft capital and/or even a player that we can use for the now?
