Remember when many wanted RD sent OOT?

Have Dylan Cozens & Mattias Samuelsson been stripped of their “A”s
Stoner replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
But did you catch Lindy saying if the Preds game was a big game, Greenway would be playing? -
Maybe I'm naive, but to stand there and baldly lie about your head coach...

OT: Cosm Venue, would you pay to watch a game at one of these?
Stoner replied to mjd1001's topic in The Aud Club
Prices depend on event and where you sit of course. Cosm has a website believe it or not. -
FWIW Adams insisted this is the staff Lindy wanted. It was portrayed as Lindy wanting to see how it would work.

Could be a good discussion. I just don't like the name. I don't even like the Sabres' attempt to make fetch happen... SabreHood.
-
Sabres Mafia? Please, no.
-
Maybe he can cook dinner on a wok and watch the game at Cosm.

Like playing there vs. like living there. I'm trying to understand the allure of playing for this team. I keep coming back to lack of pressure and opps to play and earn early in your career. They shouldn't think this way but I'm guessing some young players figure the winning will come later.
-
No, just questions. Now that we know it's something players say to each other and not just jock talk to reporters, I'm intrigued. Is it the arena atmosphere? Proximity to home for some of them? The nightlife? And yet again they almost lead the league in places players don't want to go.

Why do players love playing here? I think it's an important question. What kind of player loves playing for a dysfunctional organization that doesn't value winning? Is it the chance to play and earn big money before you would in a normal franchise? Is it the lack of pressure to win? Is it the tamed media? Byram cited lack of traffic. I dunno, give me a bunch of miserable pricks and stick them in a two hour rush hour. Make them deal with equally miserable pricks in the media. The creative tension would be so much better.

What will be the Sabres approach at the trade deadline?
Stoner replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I saw Chickpea Pasta at GrapeFest in Westfield, NY, in 2011. It's too bad about Noelle. They were never the same after that. -
Yet I know you typed that with one hand while tying off a balloon giraffe with the other.

I've said it before. This place is full of the smartest dumb ***** you'll ever read. There are dozens of threads like this. One of our resident geniuses was arguing for Asplund to get a LT deal. That people continue to post with certainty, with total amnesia about how many times they've been wrong, is amazing. I just stick to Terry sucks and the Sabres suck and have no regrets.

Senators at Tampa on Tuesday and Thursday. Any background on this?
-
shrader doesn't do bits. He's a prop comic.

Can you imagine where the Sabres would be without that injury?

You know darned well no fan is unhappy with a win unless there's a compelling reason. Isn't that reason obvious? If we had normal hockey people in charge, you wouldn't be concerned about a strong finish being used as justification to "stay the course." (Also, with normal fans, cover wouldn't be provided to the franchise to do such a thing, but fans are some combination of desperate and gullible.) There's a cold calculation that the more losses now, the better. Hey, it's Terry who taught us how to do it. Short term suffering yada yada. The wins don't build culture and they don't mean anything in October. I've been around since 75 and have banked the pleasure of countless wins. I can do no nut Feb Mar Apr with my eyes closed. Let's go Preds on Saturday. Let's get this thing turned around.

From Lucic to Noesen - The Sabre lack of backbone exposed again
Stoner replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I continue to find the coordination in these matters to be interesting. Hopefully it's flowing from Bettman down and the league has some ideas for solving The Buffalo Problem. -
I think the boredom of being a Sabres fan is so searing (lightly pan frying?) that it has born from its tenderloins some of the juiciest... Ah ***** it.

Don't eat the clam strips... unless you also want to be down and out later.

Why? He's basically the only truth teller left in Old Media. -

Last 30/first 30 2022: 16-11-3... 14-14-2 2023: 16-11-3... 12-15-3 2024: 16-12-2... 11-15-4 The Sabres are already pacing for a strong finish given a 10-7-1 record since The Streak ended. Would a longer period of sustained success be more predictive of a carryover to next season? It sure wasn't in 2023. The Sabres finished 30-19-5 and missed by a point. The key might be how the braintrust (teehee) views the finish. Tinker at the fringes vs. HEY! Maybe we've got something here.
