  1. I want to drink wine and talk about the poem until the break of day. You want to delve into how the turmoil in Venezuela will impact the cost of carbon paper. You don't care about the poem. You are soulless. You are small, and weird.
  2. Probably a good choice TBH. A transition cap while Ruff takes a gander at things.
  3. That cheese sauce Taco Bell uses will have that effect. Surprised Forton wouldn't be a La Davina Taco man (thank you Google).
  4. How bout ***** packing, sonny? You are quite fluid. You nobly defend women. It seems everyone else is open season. I don't take Ls. If you surveyed every Sabre fan, 28.65% would know what CapFriendly is or was and only 62.14% of them would have visited the site. You are truly overestimating the number of fans who go to that length. I bet you think most fans comment on the team on social media/sites like this. I'd even venture that most fans of the team have spent virtually no time this week thinking about the team. It's been the offseason for weeks.
  5. I'm going to guess morbidly obese and weird. Yes, in the overall universe of Sabres fans, those who delve that deeply into the salary cap, CBA etc. are small in relative number. Weird is subjective. I find it very weird.
  6. It's not nepotism. We've seen nepotism at the Sabres under TP. And Smell's robe just fluttered. Awake!
  7. No. Sheriff Brian Higgins was Sheriff of Shea's?
  8. Bettman never did anything to me or the Sabres, so I have no reflexive aversion to the man. Also... He was Shea's Sheriff?
  9. I see headlights flashing on tombstones.
  10. He's not wrong. It's a small and weird subset of people. Most people want to enjoy the game. What right does anyone have to Brad Marchand's salary figures?
  11. Dan isn't lacking in details. Rick never once uttered the phrases left point, near side or right wing half wall.
  12. Hoo boy it's gonna be a long night for some Spacers.
  13. I enjoy the deft touch of a camera operator near miraculously tightening his or her shot on an oscillating puck.
  14. Pops? Just a dash of ageism. Nice. We're probably the same age.
  15. In a twist of fate, Taro will make all 32 calls.
  16. Too bad some of you weren't smart enough and motivated enough to get jobs in hockey management. Watch the movie and shut up about where AMC sources its popcorn "butter."
  17. Playing GM or even one layer lower, studying the salary structures of the teams, might be part of fandom. But it's so far removed from what a sports fan is it's asinine. The real issue I have of course is that Sabres fans have been reduced to this, the actual product having been so unconsumable. By doing this, you're not enjoying the sport. Sorry. You're enjoying how the sausage is made.
  18. I believe my comparison was between the Sabres and Shea's. As a patron of Shea's, would you like to look through the books?
  19. What about chips? Should I want to or need to know Pringles' executive compensation? Does knowing that enhance enjoyment? Why isn't it enough to eat and enjoy the chips?
  20. Good idea.
  21. It almost seems like it's baked into the business model. When Cliff Benson and Terry looked across the street soon after Terry bought the team, what did they really envison? Harbor Center. Developmental hockey at various levels. Scouting combines. The draft. It's certainly a way of keeping costs down. I pondered something the other day. Maybe it could be its own thread. Is it crazy to think the worst owner in NHL history could go into the HHOF ... as a builder?
  22. It's puzzling to me why the broadcasts have changed in that way. If you're into the game, you don't want to hear the banter. If you're new to the game or just tuning in for a minute, you really don't want to hear the banter. Who wants to hear it? I don't get it. Does anyone really listen to it, much less enjoy. And if you're trying to use the broadcast to sell the sport, what does it say to the listener that even the announcers aren't interested in what's happening on the ice?
  23. Individual development over team development. The fans have bought into it. The young players love it. Learn to play with no pressure to win, then hopefully write your ticket out.
  24. My beefs with Dan are chiefly: He can call a good game but only does so when it fits his mood apparently. Maybe the perfect guy for this group of Gen Z slackers. Worse, he gaslits. Big time. Almost comically. Maybe why Dudacek likes him. "Buffalo now down 5-1. And here they go again looking for another one to get right back in it!" See also: going from 3-0 down to 3-1 is not cutting a lead in half.
