His reporting was to be believed, and the rare editorial was powerful, coming from him. Same with Van and, later, Ed. There not only aren't sports anchors like them anymore, there isn't even an opportunity to do so. I couldn't tell you who the anchors are now. We don't think we need them anymore. But we needed Rick and were lucky to have him.

Rick's always been accused of being a homer, and when it comes to going over the top when the Sabres do something good, guilty as charged. But he's never done two things: disrespect an opponent's goal by not calling it and treat us like idiots by trying to pull the wool over our eyes when it comes to the Sabres. These are the true markers of a homer announcer. Mine was the V2 Bomber.

It's interesting to note that in the first version of PSE's statement, Genzler was identified as "on-air" talent. It was later changed to "in-arena." Do the Pegulas even know who he is? Also, read the statement. It's so ambiguous as to who is being fired that I have to wonder if Terry and Kim, like some posters in this thread, have no idea what Genzler really said. It's the co-host who is being condemned.
