  1. I'm still enjoying mine. Homemade too. And homemade sauce. I might be into double digits.
  2. Or every coach is at the mercy of a bunch of 20-something shitheads.
  3. Great, the trainer is about to work on Bryson's neck.
  4. It shouldn't be this way, but Dan sucks the joy out of it for me. I fully realize Rick won't live forever. I am open to a new voice. What are the Sabres thinking?
  5. I don't think Skinner Scores is in the hopper.
  6. Can't beat Boston AND the refs.
  7. Sabres should have had five power plays so far and Boston -1.
  8. I mean, what's the difference?
  9. Was his head down? And do youth players go head hunting? It's also 15 years later. We know a lot more. And we should be a lot wiser.
  10. I'm certainly betting on Dylan's underlying stack over Jack's.
  11. No. Meatballs came before the doughnuts.
  12. I wonder if they ever fixed Umberger. Nice goal after that.
  13. It's not a checklist and then expect success. At this point in my hockey fan career, I'm down to luck, magic and the Hockey Gods. Release a rehabbed bat! I'm telling ya.
  14. What's the reverse of The Sky is Falling! The Sky is Falling!? The Drought is Ending! The Drought is Ending! One of these years it's bound to happen.
  15. The first part is so obvious, but when you're a Sabres fan, it's any port in a storm.
  16. One thing led to another on YouTube and I was a couple hours deep into live coverage of the Reagan assassination attempt in 1981. Wow, things have changed. In the famous video of the aftermath of the shooting, a woman in a business suit ran away from the scene. The anchor, Roger Mudd of NBC, said something like, "And you can see a secretary running away from the area." I guess in 1981 there was still some implicit arrangement that what the White House said was gospel. All the networks clung to the idea that because an official at the White House said Reagan was fine, Reagan was fine. Even after there was reporting that top aides and Nancy Reagan went running into the hospital, they continued to say that everyone, even the president, had gone there to be with Jim Brady, the press secretary who was shot in the head. This would make no sense given the paranoia of the Cold War. If unscathed, the president would surely have gone back the White House. As most of this played out, my dad was driving me to the Sabres-Bruins game that night at the Aud. It was a low-scoring tie played in a very subdued mood, which might have lifted a bit when Uncle Miltie announced that the Gipper was out of surgery and doing OK. 40 years ago! Reagan, Sadat and the Pope, all in one year.
  17. Chemistry. Don't ask me to define it or explain it. The right mix of the right guys at the right time in the right place?
  18. It wasn't named Olean for nothing. I started the thread because I wanted to throw it out there just in case someone close to the Pegulas reads this forum. Terry played a little ball himself as a youth. Not a bad first baseman — although he seemed to spend a lot of time sitting with the managers. And he was a huuuuuuge Detroit Tigers fan. Still is, I'm sure. Kim and Terr loved Olean. Wouldn't be a bad place to retire to. The beef's good, but the barrel's even better!
  19. All of those people survived the purge?
