First-time NHL GMs are inexperienced. I see you left Adams out. Terry even tried to hire Patty to be his GM. Patty admirably declined, citing his own lack of experience. It's a mystery why he then took on the POHO role.

The owner hasn't earned the right to be thought of as smarter than the fans. So I guess now we're giving credit to Terry for firing the inexperienced people he hired so he could meddle in their business, ensuring failure — and a pink slip. Great.

You're coloring the debate. More strawmen. Forget about the team? Of course not. He/they, after all, have to evaluate the people they hire to run the team. Not involved? Of course not. But the involvement has to be smart. The truth is, most people here ARE more competent to do this job than Terry is. Being a billionaire doesn't mean anything, as Terry proves on an annual basis. When you love something, as all here love the Sabres, you handle it with care. How Terry has run the team is just about all the proof you need that his selling of himself as a superfan was a fraud from Day One. So, yes, I think most here would be smart enough to hire good people and let them do their jobs. Once again, I clutch my pearls at the idea that the on-ice product of an NHL franchise is a "corporation" that has to be "run."

Invested interest, sure. But they invested in a business they know nothing about. Certainly on the on-ice side. And most likely the business side of hockey well, given their many blunders. I'd like to know how many wealthy people invest in NHL franchises, put good people in place and let the results speak for themselves. It's the smart way to invest. Imagine buying a dairy farm. Are you out there telling the boss what kind of tractor to buy and how they should milk the cows (left hand first! tug down at an angle!). (I'm aware they have machines now.)

Is the on-ice product a business? The question is probably at the core of historically bad ownership.

The moral of the story seems to be you can't throw a piece of pepperoni without hitting a top notch pizza joint. Yet, the times I've had La Nova pizza I've been disappointed. Where would one go to have a 100% shot at great "Buffalo pizza"?

Google brings it up.

Except that that arrangement, with these owners, has never worked. There have been rumours of some sort of come to Jesus moment in Florida between Adams and the Pegulas. If he meets with them again, it casts serious doubt on the story.

Their character flaws have been revealed in how they've owned the team. Kim delighted in being called The Black Widow. Terry's overconfident in his hockey acumen. Any criticism of their character is still hockey-related. They're not bad people away from hockey, as far as I know, although it's fair to wonder how their flaws show up elsewhere. The difference seems obvious. As for hated, again — perspective and context. Do people hate Marchand? Of course they do.

I continue to shake my head, both at the situation with ownership and the reaction of some here. Is it me? Adams and now Karmanos have been hired to turn things around. Let them do it, unfettered. Making the front office look like an NHL front office again is a no-brainer. Nothing should have to be explained to the Pegulas. It's a waste of resources and worst of all it colors the decision-making process. If Terry's not a big analytics guy, it shouldn't matter. Get him out of the decision making. His thoughts on any Eichel trade should be moot.

Guerrilla marketing campaign for Tic Tacs. Brilliant.

The profit margin has to be enormous.

Have you had his pannies? Yeah, moving the goalposts to accuse Pegula critics of hating them personally is extremely reasonable.

Just now heading home after about 1:45 in that pattern.

I was walking tonight and looked up and saw this. I went to flightradar24.com and saw that it was a plane out of Cleveland that was heading back toward Ohio. But then it kept doing loops along basically the same path. It was up there, 47,000 feet, and moving pretty fast. According to the tailnumber, it's this Gulfstream: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulfstream_G650 Anybody want to hazard a guess as to what it's doing? (As I type this, it's coming around the horn again over Jamestown.) Terry Pegula jokes invited.

What a waste of time and contributor to global warming. Should not be necessary. Zoom or phone it in — here's our man and here's why; you good? You have not been paying attention. Pegula the Meddler is not Sasquatch. There are clear pictures. He/they don't necessarily want puppets, but they clearly want inexperienced people running their team. Why is that? How much more do you need to see? Unbelievable. Notable: Ken Sawyer, gone. Ted Black, gone. Craig Patrick, gone.
