That's a start. Nothing from official Sabres sites is just weird. It's like they don't want people to watch or listen. Also rich.

Terry just had the college intern tweet an update on Kelly's tennis career. Nothing on the presser. The only logical conclusion is that no presser is being held at 11 a.m. today.

Girardi and Ellis, do you want them back as Assistant Coaches?

You'll get used to it. I've gotten used to your Cro-Magnon noticing an injured wildebeest.

My word, Hawkeye!

I just posed the question in the official hiring thread. There's nothing on sabres.com or their Twitter page. Maybe Terry shouldn't meddle in social media, too. He clearly can't figure out how to post stuff on his flip phone.

Presser today at 11? Why am I not seeing any confirmation of it on sabres.com or their Twitter page?

Sorry, I meant to reply to this three weeks ago.

Is your animus toward me really so strong you'd box yourself into this corner? Are you seriously denying that when the leader of an organization/business/firm/whatever displays a preference in a critical decision, it doesn't represent a thumb on the scale? Do you not see how this lines up with always having inexperienced managers? Stepping back, can we not agree that the owner has no business expressing such a preference? Why? WHY? The Bills have nothing to do with it.

It's both remarkable and intriguing.

One letter off. So the Boca story was crap. It's clear now that Terry is doubling down, and we're going to have to get lucky. The future could have belonged to the professionals, such as they are, and thechance of success would have been higher. Oh, well. I'm told every other owner behaves in the same way, so we're not at a handicap. Right?

If we're so low as a franchise that we're doing some basic experiment to see if Granato could be the guy to lift us out of the abyss, then I think the experiment should be constant. Keep all three coaching variables from the spring and see what happens in the fall. -
I was thinking about the Aud. It's apt how the word "connection" keeps popping up in Sabres lore. For good reason. The youngens might not recognize this, but: 1. The fans were connected with each other, because there was no piped-in noise or loud music to wipe out conversation, at least in the early days of the Aud (this might have changed into the 90s); you could easily talk to your neighbor, you could hear chants get started; and a horn didn't obliterate the joy of a Sabres goal; 2. Fans were connected with the players because of how close to the ice the fans were, the steepness of the sections; old-timer talk about hearing fans' comments, recognizing faces and voices; players could read the many signs; 3. The players were connected to the community; they truly were the Beatles on ice; 4. The fans were connected to Uncle Milt; you listened; you impersonated him; 5. The fans were connected to Ted and Rick; we still have Rick, God bless him; 6. The owners and GM were connected to the fans; they sat in the crowd with their wives! 7. Everyone was connected in a communal experience that, at that time, had almost nothing to do with being a captive audience, a marketers' fantasy; no Dr. Shatkin Kiss Cam, ads on the boards; when the thingamajig atop the scoreboard starting flipping and showing Marlboro ads and others I can't remember, it was a thing. In a way, it was the beginning of the end. I'd like to formally apologize to Mrs. Richards for my punctuation.

Another "Mr. Pegula" fanboi who doesn't like hearing the truth? But, no, there's no "smart guy/think tank" mathematical solution to the Sabres' problems. They have to be better. Ownership, GM, coach and players.

I'll add to this. No one should get worked up in a negative way either. People would be advised to hold their powder (on either side of the coin) and wait 20 games or whatever and see if anything from the spring takes hold in the fall.

Marvin's planting sage. Swamp? Right. I'm not sure where this discussion is supposed to go. It reminds me of my dad's scoring system to break 90 in golf. Four on par 3s, sixes on par 4s and 5s. Or something like that. Great. But he wasn't a good golfer and could never do it. He never practiced as far as I can remember.

No shame. You got had by one of the best.

He got the Sabres going?
