Mike Wilson just had a nice season in Chicoutimi, taking the Chiclets to the Spangler Cup quarterfinals. Come on, Danny, do it. I know it'll be tough to dismiss your bud, but there's no way the Sabres should have finished 33rd overall.

And we thought THAT was a dry spell. I think what I was going for was — maybe — it had been the first time the Habs had been shut out in consecutive playoff games at home. "Around behind the net and Bobby O, Bobby Sauve has his second consecutive shutout!"

Damn you. I had "And it begins" all lined up. Also — Tired of meatballs? Try some cheese.

Does it make you wonder what they know that we don't? -

I like this. Bring them in and let them develop. The department will be humming and world-class in, oh, five to seven years. OK, look, I haven't said a bad word here or contributed anything except the snark above. I do want to humbly offer that his nickname needs to be Ken and not Ace. -
Crap. Advance one decade and a few years.

The Sabres in 83 were the first team to complete a series sweep in Montreal.

Eichel's Agent Says Team/Player Heading Toward "Resolution"

Sometimes it's not enough to have talent. Pierre was really good. So were a bunch of NYRs in the late 90s. -

What is Jack? He's a highlight reel (YouTube clip for the kiddos out there ). There are no reels anymore. (I graciously await the corrections from those who would know.) Jack lacks something franchise players have. It's hard to put your finger on it. He rarely kills penalties. He's not a power play force. He's a great skater, but where's the burst to go in one on one? Does he score clutch goals? (hoo boy). Is he a good captain? How many lackluster backchecks and floats to the bench do we need to see? Is he a Masshole? Body language on the ice and in the lockerroom suggest so. His presser performance ended his time in Buffalo, anyway, so these discussions are moot. A really good player, but I'm not concerned about moving on without him. The Sabres need to turn him into Pat LaFontaine 2.0. My enduring image of Jack, and this is hardly fair, is how he drifted over to one of his buddies on the Islanders after a whistle and had a discussion about his buddy's stick. His buddy looked befuddled. I'd still like to know how that's not checking out and how being injured was any kind of excuse. -

The original sin of Sabres hockey: Darcy Regier with a Freudian slip, voicing the owner's directive: "It's not about making the playoffs." (2013) Corrected to, "It's not about JUST making the playoffs." See also: talking about winning multiple Cups. I can't say the philosophy doesn't still exist. Lose and suffer in the short term to build a long-term dynasty. We won't hang around the rabble franchises that try to entertain their fans, like Montreal. -
They want to come here for professional reasons; they don't want to be here.

You don't sign someone to a huge contract based on the idea he is locked to one player's hip and that combo is always going to work. How many coaches have to put Skinner in the doghouse to realize he's the problem? Just score a goal once in a while, eh?

I'm really sorry about the sparkler incident. At least I didn't light it up before sticking it up my butt.

Jeff. We are starting to agree on things.

They haven't been mistreated. It's hockey chat and they give as good as they get. If Radar wants to leave after getting scolded for saying a fellow fan is rooting for the team to fail, that's on him.

I'm going with the 12th between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. -
Nice strawman there.

It was. I'm sure it was only a slight scratch into his hockey acumen. I hope we hear more stuff like that. Coaches shouldn't dumb everything down for the media and fans.

Not sure who's the Razor of SabreSpace, LGR or me.
