  1. Apparently there's no correlation.
  2. I just read that there's a top NFL quarterback prospect with a surprisingly small throwing hand. (Hand is measured from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the pinkie finger on an outstretched hand.) He's at about 8.5 inches. Despite thinking I have small hands and despite always having had trouble throwing a football, I was surprised to measure my right hand at 9 inches, in the ballpark of many successful QBs over the years. Joshy? Ten, of course! What else?! What else?!
  3. I emailed someone who was there. Awaiting reply...
  4. This is true. This very possibly becomes my Cliff Benson Kodak Moment.
  5. As an analyst, when a season is lost, don't you weigh that period differently than when a season is new?
  6. Unless the team is good, I'm probably going to continue to not care about Rasmus Dahlin.
  7. I discovered that this morning. Fortunately, they will live forever in my mind, right down to Terry scraping under his fingernails and wiping away the crud from the beautiful News editorial boardroom table. "Part of the reason for the quit in this team is in this room." Moron. (Beyond the stupidity of thinking mild criticism from the vaunted Buffalo sports media would ever be a contributor to poor performance, the team hadn't quit on the season, as I'm sure most will recall.)
  8. I agree. I should not alter the title. I'll stand corrected as to "never." Team success is another ball of wax, or something.
  9. It was fine. The "three months later" angle is what always concerns me. Here we are — again — looking for signs of hope in February/March, thinking it will flow nicely into the fall. It never does. I'm far too lazy, but I bet there were plenty of "Dahlin is emerging" posts 1/2/3 years ago about this time. As Rick once said, "See you in September!"
  10. Oh, he's looking at smiles.
  11. I can't wait until we see this post in December.
  12. You have all the info. you need to find the video in question.
  13. Rather than thinking, and asking me to give you a link, why not find the link, watch the lengthy videos like I did and state your case with something behind it besides reflexive animus (who never recovered from Johnny's OD)? Here, let me give you Terry's addy. I have it from when I sent him that Christmas card. You send him the pic and tell him he was wrong to say he's a football guy, there just happened to be a hockey team for sale first.
  14. Let's not overthink. The beginning of the end was even before Terry cried. After the intro presser he went over to the Buffalo News editorial board and told them he had ALREADY rejected Darcy's plan. Instead of trusting the GM who had done a very good job on skintight budgets to take advantage of more resources in his own time and way, he forced his will. He meddled. Welcome Ville Leino and all the rest. The rest is history.
  15. You said it all.
  16. I don't have any data, but I have a hard time believing the second sentence.
  17. I'm not sure who's going to eat more crow when the franchise roars back to life after being sold — you or TaroT after the Politburo Fan Council applauds in unison to rubber-stamp the transaction.
  18. You let your hockey czar figure out how to achieve the mission. While I don't endorse meddling, there's no way a new owner would or should hire someone who's fine with the glacier-like pace of returning NHL hockey to Buffalo. Especially the word grifter. Pretend not to see the franchise GOAT, cry a little, build a rink on top of a donut shop and move right along to the Bills. "I'm really a football guy." Someone wake Merriam and Webster up, assuming it was two people.
  19. Owners don't run franchises. You get what you deserve.
  20. (Presumably it can't come until after the season.)
  21. The reaction icons fail. We need a bulging ***** one.
  22. You can freak out with me when rebuilding through the draft actually works.
  23. I wanted to like this post, but the second half of it is over the line "Created" is the right verb.
