@That Aud Smell's mention of Roger Ebert brought my thumbs down joke, but it's been so long, i questioned whether it was really Ebert's thing. So I googled Ebert, confirmed the thumb, and clicked on a link of his most hated movies. Therein, there was another link about how a director confronted Ebert in a bathroom about a very very negative review. Great little piece, and all because Smell mentioned the man. I was taught a long time ago that in the communication process, the communicator takes the ultimate responsibility for making sure the message is clear. You can't start a message about Jack Eichel's Bust and not expect exactly what came of it. It's on you, LGR. (And, let's be honest, you knew what you were doing. It was fun. One of the better threads of summer. The ending of it was a nice touch.)

He does his job. I think just like Rick decided he was going to do a radio call on TV come hell or high water, Dan decided he was going to do a TV call on radio. You can't have both. I don't think this makes Dan incompetent. My point was that Dan will not take his call to the next level unless the game deserves it. It's also a principled stand. Listen to Sabres Preds on RJ Night. He rose to the occasion.

Is it the video or are the seats in the center three sections much darker than last season. The different shades of blue always bugged me.

Dan's a modern Ted Darling. Quick... name Ted's most famous call. Dan will be fine when the games are big. He won't make any game bigger, however. So if the team isn't ever good, we won't even get entertainment value from the pbp guy. We are not used to that, and it will (continue to) suck. Sabres, please be good!
