  1. Big pushback from the NFL.
  2. This somehow falls flat for me. The idea of CPR is to keep the blood and oxygen flowing. And remember he got CPR from people who are very highly trained at it. Not sure if he got breaths or not and it might not matter that much as compression only CPR is urged in the general public. That said it's certainly not the ideal way for the body to get oxygen (good start the day with a no ***** sherlock statement).
  3. If people want to believe that the league heartlessly wanted to force the teams to play before the two coaches heroically saved the day, I can't stop them.
  4. You are a good man but I disagree. The young man is still with us. And I have a feeling today's going to be a good day on all fronts.
  5. Question for the pros. With blood flow stopped (or inadequate in the case of vfib), if CPR started almost immediately and he got defibrillated quickly, why wouldn't we expect a full recovery? Are the cardiac arrest mentions in the media necessarily accurate? Today is brush up on CPR day.
  6. Wire says league official Troy Vincent instructed coaches to take teams to the lockerroom. Apparently no update on Damar tonight. Some players have remained in Cincy.
  7. CNN about to have former Bill and current sportscaster Coy Wire on. He was just on a briefing call the NFL gave to select media.
  8. Doctor on MSNBC with no knowledge of the situation urges optimism for a full recovery. Mixed message there but we'll take it.
  9. I'm surprised to realize I'm not cynical enough to believe that.
  10. Understandable. I told someone a bit ago I find it harder with advancing age to enjoy these contact sports. That's hockey too of course.
  11. Thanks. They got it right in the end. Standing ovation for Bills leaving the field was a beautiful gesture by Bengals fans.
  12. You missed the point. I can't explain myself at the moment but in no way was I saying that the game should have gone on.
  13. Perhaps Woody can comment on the meaning of critical condition.
  14. Remember that as heartbreaking as Buffalo sports has been, we've seen two medical miracles. Malarchuk and Everett. Here's to the hat trick.
  15. I don't think this criticism of the NFL is fair. It's called the fog of war for a reason.
  16. Time will tell. (I shook my eight ball and yes I win a lot of bar bets.)
  17. You can't miss her on the MSG feed. Some gal in the stands who looks like the baked beans were festering. Ignore me after this... You're more negative than most here and so was d4rk.
  18. I forgot the mug on the Narragansett Bay hag after Tuch won it. Priceless. Then the older dude below her with the wry smile and crinkled eyes betraying his disappointment. He's seen some hockey and maybe just maybe a team like the Sabres.
  19. Krebs has the cray cray eyes. Loved the walk off face. Hate that the league is about having to defend yourself after a clean hit.
  20. Just curious how many here work traditional M-F skeds. I sure don't anymore. Weekends have no meaning.
  21. Games in hand. Shut up. No you shut up. Get the sausage gravy. Are you ***** crazy?
  22. This took me to the NHL standings. The other thing I learned while looking at the standings, to my dismay, is that despite a five game winning streak the Sabres are still eight points behind three teams.
