  1. A little too close for comfort there...
  2. Pray tell why does the assistant coach need a whiff of the smelling salts?
  3. Second unit first. Interesting. Alas...
  4. Don't get to see 'em much live. Impressive so far.
  5. That might have hit the clock! It did! It did! Yesssss!
  6. That's actually great (edit: cautiously optimistic) news for Pete (easy for me to say). The condition is one of the differential diagnoses when older folks are getting worked up for suspected dementia/Alzheimer's. You kind of root for it as an explanation. Pete's another good guy. Like John he took the time to respond to me in a personal way, way back when.
  7. Except in the UK. Weird. And you wonder why men die earlier than women. Our gravy makers explode and we have to joke it off. Meanwhile when the monthly visitor comes knockin' the ladies won't even make a god damned baloney sammich.
  8. Best case it was a TIA and he could be OK to continue broadcasting. We don't know the details of course. It's just beyond cruel is all I know.
  9. John's a good guy. Sorry to hear it and wishing him the best.
  10. I'm not sure who's giving it more credit than the people who saved his life. Of course some who pray will say their prayers were to help God help the people who helped Damar (make a great meal). I've been thinking about a thread about prayer. And whether secular people can pray. And where thoughts end and prayers begin. I honestly believe most who pray are not believers. And that prayer is more for the person praying, which is of course perfectly fine.
  11. I'm in Buffalo for some medical testing. This caught my eye. Where's this magnificent, sensitive beast located?
  12. Docs explained "neurologically intact" is a gross medical term in this case. He's able to follow commands and move body parts. But a big part of neurological function is the finer stuff... Cognition, language and the like. They can't test for any of that yet. They can't test him for signs of a concussion, for example, they said. They did say that asking about the game was a sign that not only are the lights on, Damar is home.
  13. Josh waives off the commish and defers to... Damar or Marv? One interesting note from today is that he had a pulse at first then lost it then CPR started. I think the doctor said CPR started within two minutes. So it might not have been as immediate as you indicate. Still...
  14. This day keeps getting better lol.
  15. Step aside, Frank Reich.
  16. Upon awakening, he asked who had won the game. That's so awesome.
  17. Today's been a "turning point" doc says.
  18. Doctors answering questions now on cable news.
  19. When Comrie gets back and only then will the Sabres get back on a push to the playoffs. Get well soon!
  20. Father died on his 50th birthday, conveniently given the fine print of his life insurance policy.
  21. I think if the good news continues the Bills will be fine.
