  1. They should. But they need to take the same risk everyone else is or soon will be taking.
  2. You can probably relax. The Woodyites and the economy are winning out. The federal guidelines on gating and phases are being ignored by many states. That plan was a good one. Once you get your new cases way down you can do the human detective work, the contact tracing. You can't do it if you have hundreds or thousands of new cases.
  3. Contact tracing has been a staple of public health for decades. Maybe it needs a rebranding, but all it means is you're notified if you were in close contact with someone who's tested positive. You don't get their name. Don't you want that?
  4. I bet I can sneak this one in while moderators snore. I haven't seen one person of color protesting the state "shutdowns." Funny how once the story became how the virus was disproportionately killing black and brown people white folks started pouring into the streets. Clever one, that Stephen Miller. 5. True. The NBA's sensitivity to public opinion is bad news for people who think they're going to be celebrating a Sabres Cup win on Zoom. I don't see a scenario in the near future where everyone who needs a test or truly deserves a test can get one and testing of pro athletes isn't a scandal. Remember that the White House plan is to also do widespread testing of vulnerable communities. Lebron's gonna have a long wait.
  6. NBA tells teams to stop testing asymptomatic players. https://sports.yahoo.com/report-nba-tells-teams-to-stop-arranging-coronavirus-tests-for-asymptomatic-players-141205662.html
  7. Damn you. I was going to suggest something like this last night but lost me nerve.
  8. Dylan Larkin?
  9. What recent Hart winner most resembles Jack's situation?
  10. Impressive. I'm not sure I've heard of a built-in dresser.
  11. One thing to consider is how empty the experience would be. No home games. No parties in the plaza. No parade. If an NHL postseason comes to pass, it will be for one reason only: the league needs the money that badly. Sad all the way around.
  12. Is this going to be a patented Neo drive-by or do you wanna put some meat on the bone? Where else are you going to get that kind of invite on a Friday night? I see heavily armed, uniformed gentlemen citizens shouting directly into the faces of police officers in Michigan. And those surgical masks aren't really designed to protect the wearer. You could charge the fine young man with attempted murder, but in Michigan they were given a very long leash. Is this about stay at home orders, which weren't really that at all? Religious gatherings? The two Porterhouse limit?
  13. Coronaviruses have been around a long time.
  14. And in the meantime if someone has any Covid symptoms, even if it seems unlikely, how are they handled?
  15. How long does it take for Covid testing to come back? Is it still many days?
  16. Has the Hart always involved the mental gymnastics of trying to figure out of all the individual team MVPs who is the most MVP-y? Or do the writers tend to pick the best player in the league? See the Lindsay Award.
  17. So it turns out there are no FDR voice actors on fiverr. Sorry... I hear the last line in the voice of FDR. I might be approaching end stage coronavirus madness. ESCM.
  18. And that would just be all the coronaries in Buffalo.
  19. I think you might be right. I've noticed declining deaths in NY. Other parts of the country must be picking up the slack. Or #libtardcoroners. I mean, who knows what's REALLY going on?
  20. Is fiverr still around? Oh man have I got the gig of a lifetime. And yeah I'm that bored.
  21. The third paragraph is telling. You've admitted to not being educated about what's going on. And Fauci didn't say that. He said he couldn't guarantee it would be safe by then.
  22. Global pandemics and depressions that come right to my doorstep tend to get my attention.
  23. A lot of people don't seem to want to notice that daily death totals that were supposed to go down a few weeks after the curve got flattened haven't really done so. This week has seen some of the highest daily death counts of the pandemic. That might be because although the spike in cases was stopped and the curve did get flattened, it's been more a high plateau after that. There have bee some noticeable declines in total new cases, but then it shoots back up again. Sort of a roller coaster ride.
  24. A lot of those tests are trash. And that's not even a test for active infection.
  25. I think what's bothering me is the idea that a workforce can consider itself so essential and so privileged that they should be able to move their workplace to a safer area and be assured of testing that even over the summer will not be available to everyone. One of the bidding requirements is that restaurants be available to offer "bubble" service. The NHL entourage and no one else, I assume. This pandemic ripped a bandaid off our society. The NHL seems to be saying... "Yeah we're gross. So what? How are you going to stop us, diseased peasant?"
