I know dark's real name. Reagan Kissinger.

You look like Pope Francis!

I like this. I just wish I cared enough to play along. Didn't you read Wawrow's piece yesterday. Botterill will "finally" (John's word) have the chance to reshape the roster this offseason, whenever that is. No one should wonder why John gets the scoops from Kim.
-
Also — I honestly don't believe there was any snark in Kim's fan comment. But she should be smart enough to not say it. And she's not. These are not smart hockey owners!!!!!! Maybe somehow they gain intelligence and moxie when they travel out of the city to OP. I don't really care what they do with the Bills. Please sell the Sabres. HAM! HANDS!

If I had to guess, she has noticed what a fine young man Jason is and how he treats people well and has put in place a positive, forward-leaning work culture that enables a multi-generational, multi-cultural ethos of human capital efficiency. I don't think it's this. But, hey, look, meddling! It's in quotes, but I'll take it. Baby steps.

As long as it's iceberg it can go on the outside as far as I care.

You guys better start putting out.

You all know what guano is, right?

Which masks are you questioning the efficacy of? An N95 mask is an extremely effective way of preventing healthcare workers from getting infected. An antibody study of downstate healthcare workers found only 12% had antibodies. I would assume those masks are also very effective at limiting what you spew out. Surgical masks are said to reduce your risk to 30% of what it would be without one. Cloth masks even less of course. No one said they were the answer, just that they help, probably a lot. You're not mentioning that studies show that masks not only reduce the distance droplets can travel, but the number of droplets themselves. You're also not putting the church choir event in context. It was early in the pandemic, and they thought they were doing everything right by standing apart and cleaning their hands, etc. The CDC was not recommending masks at that time. They thought they were safe. It's so odd. What is it that people so object to about wearing a mask when they and others are at real risk? Are we nothing more than adult children who have to defy our parents? Is it vanity? Machismo? Politics? Paranoia?
-
But you want to help keep the workers safe. When you got to the window, was there some kind of barrier? I also don't wear a mask when I'm walking alone outside. Still, the activity momentarily brings me pretty close to other people, and I worry a little about what effect the wind could have. I think it's a very remote way of catching the virus.

Am I somehow misreading you? You think sabremike's opinion is an outlier?

What are your memories of the 2030s Sabres?

I think I disagree with your conclusion, although I wouldn't be surprised. Some things that argue against it would be the recent story about belt-tightening at PSE (I believe Jason has term left on his contract — is Terry going to be willing to eat more money?); on that note, the higher cost of acquiring this time an established hockey figure; the impracticality of hiring a new GM during a pandemic (no sit down interview?); Terry being unwilling to face the music if he has to fire someone he was directly responsible for hiring (he distanced himself from the Murray hiring); most importantly the likelihood that the entire Pegula clan is hunkered down deep in the guava mines of Guatemala in a custom constructed billion-dollar bunker. Or guano. I also wonder if the Rooney quote Terry cited in his opening presser will finally kick in. "Panic doesn't seem to be working."

COVID 19 Discussion
PASabreFan replied to SABRES 0311's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
True. CNN's as big a joooooke (Lindyism) as all the rest now. I've defended them in my head, because they were never Fox, and I wanted to remember them as the network that did such brilliant reporting around the world in the early days. But it finally hit me one day when they tried to pass off a chart of cumulative cases, instead of day to day change, as evidence of a spike in cases. That chart always goes up, until there's no more Covid. Also — "the death toll continues to rise." No *****. -

Good stuff. Where the heck did Chalamet come from? What an imagination. That event must have sent Smell over the edge. Thanks everyone for not noting my butchered title. I speak no good English. -
Kinda had it with all the Sabres History Porn. So... I will never forget the new arena's roof opening on Eichel Retirement Night and Jack's Super Yacht being lowered onto the ice. (OK, mini Super Yacht.) Jessie Pegula did it up right! She has been an incredible owner.

Was it winning that review of the spin or Lorentz killing a bat that doomed the franchise to never winning a Cup?

Sabres vs. Penguin Big Comeback Game in 70's or 80's
PASabreFan replied to grinreaper's topic in The Aud Club
Little snippet from a recent News story. I couldn't open it to see if there's more than this: "The other was back on March 10, 1976 when the Sabres were down 6-2 to the Pittsburgh Penguins but scored five goals in the final 8:35 for a 7-6 win." -

This line cracked me up. Based solely on Dan's ability to come up with something corny ("May the Faksa Be With You) and Rob's inability to get the name right, in fact the probability he loses the FCC license for MSG, the winner is Radek.
-
That ending was tennnnnnse. I miss the immediate minutes after wins like that. Maybe you go outside into the warm night and look up at the stars and realize there's no reason a'tall that a game should mean this much to you, but it does! And maybe you let out a whoop.

Sorry to hear about their situation. I wonder what the thinking is re: taking hydroxychloroquine after recovery.

Maybe it's a stereotype, but I think of the Japanese culture and think of societal responsibility. Did people social distance without having to be told? Did they wear masks religiously, everywhere? Still, it's pretty interesting and will probably be studied extensively.
