  1. Vaccines will still be recommended for those previously infected because little is known about ongoing immunity. It sounds like I'll be near the head of the line. I'll be getting mine squarely in my TPEGS4LIFE tat. I might be rooting for a requirement for vaccination as a proxy way of weeding out folks who shouldn't be working in health care. Work with old folks and won't get it? You are scummy.
  2. Will healthcare workers be required to get a vaccine? That'll be interesting to follow. Medicare and Medicaid could tie reimbursements to such a requirement. In my narrow experience, a requirement will be necessary to get all workers vaccinated. I'm hearing co-workers say they don't want to be "guinea pigs."
  3. Chuckle. Terry didn't meddle, but it sure sounds like he tried. What was the point of talking up Mahomes? Classy victory lap here by the "football guy." And an odd thing to talk about when you appear to have found your franchise QB. Anyway I never said Terry meddled in the Bills.
  4. But ole @SDS here is trying to find a clever new slogan for this site. For example, we used to have, "The hardest cheering fans in hockey."
  5. Let's hope there's enough vaccine to vaccinate healthcare workers and the vulnerable at roughly the same time. The tricky part is figuring out who is the most vulnerable. We have probably north of 100 million people who have underlying conditions of some sort. Not all of them can go to the front of the line.
  6. Dr. Fauci hits back on the idea that the process was rushed or that safety was compromised. He was talking yesterday about technical advances that sped up the process this time. Also, pharma companies have been producing vaccines "at risk," which means producing them before approval so they're ready to go if the OK comes. If. They could also lose tons of money using this approach. Remember that back in the early days (March maybe?), Dr. Fauci said vaccines take a long time to produce but that we could have one by January. So we're really pretty much on the normal schedule he envisioned. Finally, the reason vaccines aren't being distributed right now is that they're waiting for enough time to pass to be sure there won't be serious side effects in a 60-day window.
  7. Folks in LTCFs can't isolate.
  8. Appreciation should have nothing to do with it.
  9. Experts have experted but WTF do they know. Also Sweden says hello (with a dry cough).
  10. So just use the team's old slogan? Sharpen Your Point is the obvious winner. I have no idea what's preventing it from being officially declared as such.
  11. More gum-flapping. Terrific.
  12. Autumn Rustling — Zamfir, Master of the Pan Flute
  13. It'll be an interesting challenge. Like taking an appeal to the Supreme Court. That of course is higher than SDS even.
  14. We don't believe in experts anymore. We know better. People who know more can't possibly be making the right decisions. As for orange once it's back in the private sector all bets are off on discussing it, right?
  15. Green is what we thought it was!
  16. Is The Observation Effect a plus or a minus here? Having to look like an NHL franchise for the cameras can't be a bad thing, can it?
  17. The thing I wonder about is whether it makes sense to vaccinate the residents first.
  18. Do you know who you're dealing with here?
  19. I'm writing in @inkman.
  20. It's pretty interesting to see how they arrive at statements like "95% effective." To the layman, it seems on the flimsy side. Still, very good news. And this one doesn't need the draconian storage temp. Yeah, I'm going with draconian. ***** you and the horse you rode in on!
  21. I scrolled all the way to the end to see if you managed to make it through this hellscape of a year true to yourself. Well done! You survived.
  22. Finally got paid back for that Roland Hooks grab.
  23. You're overthinking it. Of course they protect you. No protection is 100% of course.
