No reason to attack. If you don't want to talk about Miro's ENG's that's fine.
-
Not being in the top 9 in NHL history in ENG proves your point? Satan is at or near the top in that category in Sabres history. So much so that he was ridiculed for it by Rob Ray when Satan returned to Buffalo — because that's when Miro would bust his hump to score a goal, or something. Makes no sense. You don't score 238 goals for one team in a dead puck era by being a lazy bum.

That bastard ... trusted by Lindy to be on the ice at the end of close games, sniping goals to seal victories. BOOOOOOOOO

True. I guess I'll believe Rick sitting out a road playoff game when I see (hear) it, especially when all he has to do is make a fairly short drive to the arena studio. Perhaps he's making an old school stand against calling a game off a screen, though he's done it before.

Has there been credible guidance to that effect? That might be when maximum protection is established. But with virus circulating widely, you're still at risk even if vaccinated (as well as the great unknown of whether you can be protected from illness but still carry the virus and be contagious). The way I look at it, the purpose of vaccination is to create herd immunity eventually and allow us a return to near-normalcy. It's not a "pass" for people to take risks they wouldn't otherwise. Also — whether the vaccine is 95% or 55% effective in the real world has yet to be established. Personally, I'm not going to do anything different for now. I look at it as a backup level of protection in case something slips past my first line of defense.

No road games a'toll? Even playoffs? He hasn't missed a playoff game in team history, I don't think.

Good for ole Nahm Macivah! Last I heard from Marie he'd been trawlin' for lobstahs up Narragansett Bay.

That would be a good compromise. Gretzky, Lemieux...

Gettin' old? There was a time when handling 30 polls wouldn't have fazed you.

I want to thank ink for getting my hockey blood boiling. Needed it desperately! Talk of overages doesn't tickle my twig.

I think the issue with some of the suggestions is that you have to search and listen for the implied Sabres message. IMHO the song should be fairly mindless. Just the sound of it should do. Think the Hawks' doo doo doo song. It should be about celebrating something, not hidden messages. For a seventh inning stretch (10 minutes to go?) I'll endorse @Eleven's Erie Canal dunkey offering. And what about the "win is imminent" tune?
-
Wow. I always liked that song. Catchy. I had no idea what the young fella was saying. And a generic goal song when the scorer is not obvious?
-
I don't think that's true. Those names were around until 1994. One can do the math.

@Brawndo Does the lack of a symptomatic response to the vaccine suggest it's not revving up my immune system? I have concerns due to being on Methotrexate (low dose), which I held last week and plan on continuing to hold until two weeks after my second dose (my idea based on research; pulmonologist said he doubted it would help my immune system respond to the vaccine).

I can see The Buffalo News, for example, refusing to give Scotia free advertising by blaring, "SABRES WIN SCOTIA NORTH!" in a banner headline. OTOH they've always printed the corporate names of the arena, I think. (But wasn't there some issue with "the downtown baseball stadium"?)

Got my first jab yesterday. Masterful poke, not a stitch of pain. Very slight soreness developed in my arm late in the day and I still have it. I have to decide to feel the discomfort, it's so slight. I feel perfectly normal so far and don't expect any issues at this point. If you have any concerns about the shot being painful or the soreness being unbearable, put them out of your mind. (Of course YRMV.)

Important figure in team history. Along with Smilin' Ger he was the bridge who brought the Sabres out of a decade of mediocrity and into a new millennium where Cups were at hand. Before the Pegulas we always had hope as Sabres fans — probably except for that immediate post-Bowman period. Now, after the last 10 years, maybe we're on the verge of re-appearing. We shall see.

Ask Stu! How could you not save something like? You coach the team, Mike!

It's the totality, bro.

Great. Now we're debating US-Canada immigration policy vis a vis Covid. And we're all experts. Can we work in some analytics to make it an even more awesome discussion. ArJéMCOR = Rick's Modified Chance of Re-entry. Am guessing it's c. 75-77% (weekday only). As ink said: HOCKEY!!!!!!!!

Why are you opposed to electric outlets?

Almost forgot — Happy New Year to my annoying, dysfunctional and I-can't-quit-you Internet family.

January's on track to be a helluva kickstart to 2021. I am incredibly lucky to be getting my vaccine doses starting on Monday. Right place, right time for a modern miracle of science and medicine. Rick calling Jack and the boys. Although it doesn't mean 1% of what it used to, the Bills in the playoffs. And, oh yeah, a second virus eradicted from my life when that other thing happens. Not bad a'tall! Please, if you have a chance and are medically cleared to do so, get vaccinated.

@SDS All I've come up with so far is to replace KeyBank Center with The Pavilion. Or... Perry Street? Main Street? The Plaza? Entry/meeting points. Could the Clubs be Corridor Clubs? Speaking of clubs, I know that Clubs are under The Aud Club, but could they also be listed under Forums along with The Aud Club?
