Happy B-day D4, I hope the Sabres can add to the celebration with a win. Well said. I am willing to give the new coach a couple of weeks to work with the hand he's been dealt and see who he can get playing good hockey. I am also hoping he votes off the island those who don't respond.

I like it and I am looking forward to seeing how that translates into who plays where(PK, PP, Benched) and what minutes. I also don;t care for the Bohoo we are still in shock excuse w/Lindy's firing or the we need to adjust the new coaches style. Coaching 101, you don't hustle, you don't listen, you don't play.

You mean AHLers. I do like his comments about the film he watched on the team, shortcuts and a lot of resting going on. Same thing we all have been seeing and saying here on the board for years. As many have said I just not sure what he can do with some of these floaters.

YES QFT TrueBlue and Doohickie have it right. Can we really expect him after one day to start making major line changes on top of the possibly more involved change of implementing a new system or even some variations into the existing ? I would not be surprised to see most of the same combinations sans the porter call up. Let's give RR a chance to watch enough live game action to form his plan and the changes he thinks will improve this team. I would be satsifed with let them loose and play hockey, have fun style of a game even if it turned into a 7-6 loss. Just to see which guys can play an uptempo game.

Good summary. I will watch and hope for the best but I am still prepared for worst until additional roster makeover is also completed. QFT

I agree 100% about Lindy and this team. As far as the rest caused Darcy to be disgusted well he should be as he is the one person most responsible for this mess based on players and contracts he decided to build his core around. He is truly the one that should have been fired

And my, arms, legs, eyes, etc.....+1 And this is my fear as well. I have stated before I was okay with him staying on possibly scouting talent but I do not want him making player or coach decisions for this team, no more, no more , no more. Hit the road jack and don'tcha come back no more.

Well at least lowered expectations help a little although it still is depressing to see them continue to lose the way they do. Anyway, time to check my baby steps. 1.) Lowered shots against and more blocks. Except for the 2 lapses that ended up in back of the net I saw improvement here - pass 2.) Well they certainly generated more chances on the 2-4th lines however none were capitalized on. Fail, because it's not the number of chances but the # that end up in the net that counts 3.) Miller looked to have a good game only maybe one WTF goal the first one however letting that guy loose at the top of faceoff circle with a cannon is a very hard save. I will give a pass here 4.) Lindy;'s bench demeanor, overall presence and appearance to be in charge on the bench. Epic fail, 7 men on the ice when pulling the goalie, nuff said.

Baby steps, that's all i am looking for. Can they / will they play a better defensive game? Can they generate more from 2-4th lines? Will Miller conitnue to round into olympic form for that expected push for 8th place? Will Lindy say more than two words and look engaged on the bench? Yes these and many more questions will be answered tonight on "As your Sabre Turn's" Let's Go Buff-a-lo !

Me too, I had to do the book at my sons basketball game. They made a 3 pointer at the buzzer to send it into OT. Lost in the 3 minute OT. Back to the sabres, sounds like we stole one which is good to do however you cannot count on that as a way to win on a regular basis. Very happy they won however need a 10 game win streak to convince me this team as contrived(players, coach, management) can win over the long haul. Sorry Terry/Ted I just can't believe your in that place in Egypt called D'Nile.
