  1. Hard not to think he would be as frustrated by the way this team has been run, constructed and deconstructed over his time here. Pegula what the HE double hockey sticks are you doing to your supposed beloved Sabres... get this team right or GTFO by now.
  2. Didn't attend Bisons games but started watching Sabre's from their first season forward. Followed and attended games regularly till I moved away in 92. Used to do half of 1 of a 4 way split on season tics after 75 with my brother in law in the reds which got me 5 games a season minimally and sometimes one or 2 more when one of the other parties couldn't make a game. We always let the group have first dibs on games one of the party couldn't make, loved how we did it, drew cards for picking order 1-4 and then went round robin picking single games with the group until all games where taken. I would always take a November game for one of the Canadian teams(Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, other), regularly went for the New Years pucks and Tux game, and one in Feb, March and finish in April to psych up for the playoffs. Was hard to follow from 92-2002 but i did the best I could long distance and always still came back to Buffalo for a game or two a season with family I still have there. Went to the last Rangers-Sabres game there on 2/22 with Brother, nephew and was pleasantly surprised with how well they played for one game but what a false hope and mirage that was and is for what this team is now. Hard to fathom what has happened with the last 14 years of hell vs heaven Pegula has given us fans. I guess I was spoiled having a well run hockey organization and team for that long. Terry please sell the team or finally hire and create an experienced functional organization structure before you totally destroy this once proud franchise.
  3. What team? They don't regularly play like the team I used to know and love, disappointment and disgust now replace that.
  4. Waiting for Samuelsson to come back from his?😉
  5. I voted No. In my best DarthEbriate imitation I will say " These are not the players for playoffs you are looking for!" Professional athletes to reach this level are supposed to want to and know how to compete. This has turned into the island of misfit players if they do not have enough pride in what they do to show up at a time like this. Sad with all the great draft positions over 13 plus years that the team, is this pile of dung. I have stopped caring since they don't either. Bu-bye Sabre slugs from hell.
  6. I cannot ever recall seeing him, a 6"6" 220 lbs defensemen clear the crease. I see Sabre forwards always being knocked down in front of the opposing net/goalies, no penalty. That net front is one area the officials usually allow some leeway to clear the view and they do not provide any consistent support for their goalies there. Sad dysfunctional drafting from what was supposed to be one area of strength based on our drafts of defensemen. Defensemen that don't play defense and a host of forwards that can't play physical offense. Great recipe for amateur hockey but not professional.
  7. I absolutely hope you are right and agree with this. I would also add that those said players need a conditioning assignment to Rochester (sorry for that ruining your Amerks experience) or less ice time replaced with the players who are playing the right way even if the result may still be a loss. Reward more the efforts not just the potential results.
  8. That was a lot of nothing really when you digest it all and look at the yearly results. Deck chairs on the titanic as LTS said. All is well that ends well and this has not and appears headed that way again.
  9. The tale of whether the current streak continues, losers lament, or we start another winning streak, fans be cautious. Honestly, I just wish they would play consistent gritty tenacious hockey as defined by many posters in the other thread. Physical, relentless puck pursuit and finishing more of the body checks they have available but shy away from with the adolescent stick checking only attempts. Thats not the hockey I grew up with hockey. Better use of my time in a meetup at the gym with my daughter to start a box and burn class and will check the scores later to see which way this team played. Come to think of it, over half the team could use a fit for boxing regimen to make them more confident in the close quarter situations they regularly play in on the ice. But that's just my opinion man.
  10. From a 3-win series to another potential 3 loss one. Still going with the previous ground hog day season potential again, a tease like that Meatloaf High school cheerleader, get you to rounding 3rd base and get the "Stop right there!". Lets stop the losing right here as Lindy preaches, along with this Manic Weirdness.
  11. This above, and the Deluca .500 holds me back from voting yes. After being fooled in at least 8-9 of those 13 lost years says don't get fooled again. Maybe even eggsbenedict will come back if they make it.
  12. I'm sorry for the 13-years of not making it when they have had some good in season spurts of hockey has me waiting to the last day of this poll before I will vote. I need to see them continue to play solid hockey back home against the Wild and Canuck's.
  13. Well here we go for another chance at a 3-game win streak. No lineup changes is the Lindy Ruff coach I expected until someone else earns it or someone else doesn't play up to the standard, which is as it should be. LFG go Buffalo, keep the home fires burning and win the fans back.
  14. Another chance to see which team shows up tonight. If Lindy is back to being a coach that holds them accountable, I expect the same line up as the other night. When changes do happen, it needs to be because they were earned not just given. LFG Buffalo, beat the Rags because my insufferable brother-in-law is an in-your-face Rangers fan from Long Island.
  15. ding, ding, ding, winner, winner, chicken shaught dinner! I liked the article from Torts LGR4GM had a few posts above. His coaching style is what this group of youngins needed to figure out the wheat from the chaff. Lindy has sounds like too much of the friendly grandfather giving advice instead of when he was barking out orders and benching the ones not listening.
  16. If this team is going to sniff the playoffs, I expect to see a team that bounces back after the last loss and uses the home ice advantage for a win. LFG Buffalo, make it so!
  17. Tapping into the adage even a blind squirrel finds a nut I see but I fear it will be a left one when what we need is the right one. If it finally kicks him to the curb well then let's have at it but the compounding effect to record for futility and demoralizing of the fan base has been shameful.
  18. Hocous, Pocous, this team goes in and out of focus if I say yes, I fear they smoke us. They will tease us all season but confidence in this group is lacking, I fear the result, hence close but no cigar unless we replace the Czar (KA).
  19. Like the momentum they have started building back and a legitimate positive home record. Looks like Fla is back at full strength, so hoping to see the compete level and results they have been getting work against one of the top contenders. Let's Go Bflo, we want four, keep the winning streak alive.
  20. Very well explained in layman's terms and appreciated for us not master class tactician fans.
  21. Had to give up my mini packs when i moved to Pittsburg 30+ years ago. I used to come home for a few games a year but also gave that up several years ago with the way they have been playing. I would come back for some games on family visits if they turned into a good less frustrating team.
  22. if it walks and quacks like a duck then .......
  23. Well if he really is another Risto then my answer is you try and trade him and get the most you can like we did with Risto.
  24. Last night was one of the few games I get to see all of here in Pittsburgh. I cannot believe we looked out physicaled by the Pens. I agree with all the players called out in this thread for poor play. Correction, Owen Power for a defenseman does not play to his size or position, poor decisions or neutralize the players he is covering. Cozens should not be centering the 2nd line with how he is playing, he looks like he gained no strength or stamina in the offseason which should have been his off-season plan and currently is not worthy of the A he's been gifted. Quinns game also appears off but maybe it's the center he has and coach change, but his confidence appears lacking. Last where is the coaching, where is Lindy we used to know who shuffled lines and players when they weren't always needed and now needs something to change this team's mojo. At least I don't get to watch that again tonight and can just check online to see what they are or are not still doing right. If they win, I am guessing Levi will have a lot to do with that not necessarily better PP or execution by the forwards or D. Let's go Buffalo, Mostly Wishful.
  25. Curious which goalie gets the start tonight. Will they alternate or go with one in back-to-back games if he plays well and is the reason for the win. I expect them both to play and hope they show us the team we need to be for the playoffs. LFG Buffalo make it so.
