    How do you feel if a period of neutral ends up with the Sabres having one of the top two-way guys in the league? And I don't mean Toews two-way, a guy that can score some and play D, but an elite scoring threat and can play D. I'm not sure Jack will get there, but man that's enticing.

    Maybe after Xmas. Probably not though, I have a training subscription through work that runs until March so any free time goes into that.

    I enjoy it too. It quells the people that say, "we just need to string a few wins together and we're right back in it". I suppose they're right if "a few" is defined as "all the games until the all-star break".

    If I remember right, 2 of the 3 were at the top of the NHL goal scoring and/or points for awhile. It was incredible.

    Not as storied, but: Foligno Ennis Stafford Vanek Adam Pominville You may laugh, but for a short time those two were really hot.

    Oh right, off-season deal. The Sabres still need to pony up at least their top D prospect or more liekly Risto in addition to what you've already listed.

    I'm not sure that's even close to fair value. Even if you can Ryan and Ryan (ha) a wash (I'm not sure I do, B Ryan hasn't been very good this year from his stat line, and tread carefully on 30-year-old forwards with 4 year deals), I really doubt the best offer Ott'wa is going to get is "some pieces and some not-this-year picks" for Karlssssssson.

    It's definitely man-to-man in the D zone, but as you point out, I'm not sure you do that in transition. It makes sense that the high defender takes the D, AND that high defender should be the guy that'll blow by the opponents' last guy back.

    Theater of the Absurd! :) At this point in the season, you're rooting for the leaders to keep winning, this game is a perfect example. Pats win, division clinched (right?), Miami all but eliminated (8-8 isn't going to cut it). Miami wins, they have a shot at the playoffs (long shot). Also: there was just a hyperhydrosis commercial just on. Better known as Excessive Sweating; Brian Campbell should apply for their next commercial citing prior experience!

    Miami scroring touchdowns tonight. Off a Brady interception even. I know the Bills are probably better off if NE wins, but it's some nice Schadenfreude. Edit: at 5-7, Miami would pass the Bills if they run the table or maybe even they split their games. But, if the Bills end up with 7 or 8 losses, I have a hard time believing they'll be looking at a playoff spot even if Miami doesn't win any other games.

    Huh, what do you know. I've been more of a Star Trek fan than Star Wars, a fact I've often attributed to having access to all the Star Trek on Netflix and nothing for Star Wars. Times are changing! (I haven't even peeked at the new CBS series; CBS doesn't have it as a "free" stream on their website like most of their other shows and I don't have an antenna.)

    Even so, I wouldn't think LA would trade for Moulson with the contract.

    Force Awakens, or Rogue One? The latter is on Netflix, none of the "mainline 7" movies are (when I was last on Netflix a month or three ago).

    I'm pretty mad the last season or two on Netflix didn't have the original music or occaisonal titles (as far as I can tell). The titles cracked me up for some reason. My only guess is the last couple seasons were "international versions where they could substitute the local language where needed.

    Lehner played a great game. He also let in a softie in OT. The puck went directly under his pad along the ice, granted while being screened. Screened goalies make saves on pucks along the ice all the time.
