I should have put a disclaimer that was an example, and not an actual scenario. :)

Dolphins sign EJ Manuel (cut from the Raider) after Cutler is hurt in week 16 to engineer the blowout. Too much?
-
I was thinking beat the Pats, so going into week 17 the Ravens are still tied with the Bills, but the Bills are ahead by 40 on some point-differential tie breaker. The Ravens and Bills both lose the last week, but the Bills get blown out 52-3 and the Ravens lose 21-20.
-
The quoted post is useless. :)
-
I'm really mad about the reach for Manuel; think of the RB the Bills could have picked up in that spot and likely still gotten EJ in the second.

Police, right? Ontario Provincial Police. I always wondered how an American act ended up signing a song about the Police in Canada.

Oh, I completely agree. The Bills need to win out to have a chance, and the chances of them winning out are around 10% in my non-evidence-based opinion. I didn't know that, that's just gravy. I've been thinking of the Billsiest ways to blow this shot at the playoffs, and that scenario isn't even that Billsy. It'd be pretty reasonable if the Bills won out and still missed, other than the Billsy decisions they made earlier in the season (Peterman and that DL they cut and haven't stopped the run since).

The Bills would be sitting pretty well if they win out. Anything less seems really dicey, you never count on getting in with 9 wins.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
MattPie replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
I've seen the first half of it several times. It's in two files on my Plex server, and it reverts to German, no subtitles whenever it hits the second file (the back side of the DVD), with no way to switch. I really need to mkvmerge it into one file. :( -

Sabres warm up music tonight: -
It doesn't really talk about stats at all, just if the wingers do this, the D should do this, etc. Strategery.

I've seen libertarians on Facebook supporting it, citing the free market and ISPs so want to compete and innovate as soon as these chains of regulations come off! Yeah, they want to innovate new ways to charge me and control the information I see. But that's not really what's happening here. I pay for my bandwidth (25Mbps up and down in my case), and I expect to be able to use that bandwidth how I want. My neighbor pays for his bandwidth, too. If I need 10000x the bandwidth, then I can pay more for that. If the ISP can't handle the traffic rate that I've purchased, they either shouldn't sell it to me or upgrade their infrastructure (with all that extra money I'm paying them) to support it. On the Netflix side, that's not your ISP. Netflix (for example) isn't a residental ISP customer, it has it's own agreements with its ISPs. Netflix pays for however many terabits per second to the Internet backbone. Similarly, your ISP pays for x terabits to the backbone. The ISPs have been selling way more customer bandwidth than their pipe the backbone supports. This is "thin provisioning" in the IT world, where you allocate more space/bandwidth/CPU than you have, because you know not everyone will be using it at the same time. It's a good strategy for reducing costs and not having a ton of stuff sitting idle 99% of the time. But, customers are starting to you know, actually use the bandwidth they bought and the ISPs don't want to pay for a bigger pipe themselves. The FCC just allowed ISPs to shake down internet services to pay for their the ISPs infrastructure. I think the fundamental issue here is people think Netflix is using (say) Comcast's bandwidth. They're not. *I'm* using Comcast's bandwidth at the rate I purchased. It happens to be for Netflix, but I'm just using what I paid for. Censorship: well, there *were* regulations in place until today. Paying for what you use: See the above (or previous post), I am paying for what I use. Netflix isn't using a residential ISP's bandwidth, the ISP's paying customers are.

I found this on NHL.com, and it's an interesting Xs and Os discussion on how teams attack in the modern NHL. https://www.nhl.com/news/jim-corsi-describes-strategies-to-beat-shot-blocking-defenses/c-293981674?tid=292275938

It is a great place. The odd thing is the country on the whole is kinda conservative. Some of the tourist sites require things like having your legs covered to the knees and not showing your shoulders. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Everyone was friendly and the food is incredible.

Nope, totally real from I hear. I did not take in a show when I was there.

I don't remember, to be honest. We didn't use any amenities though, just watch the game and go get some beer between periods. :) -

I've sat up in the 224/201/202. Nice seats. The game not so much; that on the Sabres were up 2-0 after the first, lost the game 7-2. Kassian fought Sesito that game. Woo! -

Fight after clean hit (or it looks to me): -
While it doesn't read that way, it seems to be called as "either the player or the puck has to continue moving towards the goal line", or "both the player and the puck cannot move towards center ice at the same time". The player can pull the puck back as part of stick-handling as long as the player is still moving forward (or maybe laterally). I agree. Also the twitter people are getting hung up on "forward". I think I've seen players skate backwards towards the goal line with the puck, although that may have been all-star game stuff.

I'm on the same page as you. He's making $4m this year, which seems high for an average goaltender. If he wanted to sign for $3-4m again, I'd probably do it. He'll be asking for $5M like you say, and that's getting too rich for me.

I'd go. If I didn't already have plans tonight, I'd consider begging the ticket off you. :) If they will all those, they'd only have to win 11 more to get back to playoff-bubble pace! -
Disney with Espn taking over Fox Sports programming
MattPie replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Aud Club
I'm looking forward to a very-Goofy-like animated version of Mike Milbury. I'd think local team coverage of hockey makes enough money to keep it around (otherwise there'd probably be a few teams that don't broadcast every game). I don't feel like hockey translates to national audiences as well though which is why ESPN kept cutting back coverage. These days with the all-singing all-dancing sports coverage on the net, I don't really care what ESPN covers. -
When will Jack have a breakout game this season?

 I think it's pretty reasonable that during the period of learning and figuring new things out a person isn't as productive as they could be focusing on the one thing they already do well.
