Do we have a goalie the Jets might want? :)
-
MrsPie was just talking about Seattle's Best this morning and how much she liked it. There used to be a Seattle's Best cafe down the street from the shop I took my car. I'd drop it off, set up my laptop and work for a few hours while waiting. Those were the days! PA: If you don't actually like coffee, why not drink some tea? Far easier on your system and tastes better. I will say that (M-x snob-mode) cheap bag tea (Lipton, etc.) isn't that great, you taste way more wet paper than tea. For a test, get some relatively good black tea bags (Wegmans "Just Tea", Stash, or better) and give it a shot. Even better is get a couple scoops of loose tea from Wegs and one of those cheap ball infusers. One teaspoon of tea per 8oz/mug. The per-pound prices on tea are a little daunting, but a pound of tea lasts months, even drinking a couple pots a day. The little Wegmans loose tea bags they give you rarely go over $5 unless you really stuff it in.

It has to be rooted in implying the target of the insult is one of The Gays, and therefore bad/evil/stupid. See also, the person flinging the insult is homophobic. Your point at the end is critical; I don't think I've seen a woman called a xxxxsucker, if she was by a male, I'd think there'd be a fair bit of reverence in there too. EDIT: Perhaps an experiment is in order. Sometime today, men, call your SO a xxxsucker and report back if you still have a SO afterwards.

While the puck slid between his legs for a SOG.

Ugh, that beer is terrible. Victory is my local, so I should be offended. But realistically, I haven't had a new beer from there that has completely wow'd me in awhile. That used to happen a lot. There could be other factors in that for me; I rarely get wow'd by any beer these days. I'm inclined to think I've either become jaded, depressed, and/or old. Victory's food was certainly better years ago, I think that's objective truth.

LOL. I'm not sure why people think he'd be good making breakout passes given the way he handles the puck behind the net. :) Do be fair, I don't think he's that bad on break-aways. :)

Only if you don't try to fix them! I tore mine apart... hey, about 8 years after I got it... and replaced the assembly at the bottom that decides whether the tub freewheels or everything spins. Total cost: Maybe $140 in parts and tools, 4-5 beers, a few hours (not helped by the beers), and whatever electricity I spent streaming The Longest Day and In Harm's Way to my phone (also didn't help the time). Nice!

At best, he really needs to work on all his fundamentals. At worst, he has worked on them and they're not getting better.

No kidding, you "win" that one. (I fully realize I've probably complained about RosePie on here)

Seems like they had a good stretch in there, but it must have been a point streak (win, otl, win, otl, otl, etc.)

They know most people won't ask for the money back. If their per-unit cost is a $1, and they charge $10, they only need 1 of 10 people to *not* return the item and they break even on the units. That doesn't pay for all the other costs (ads, salaries, etc.), but far fewer than 9 of 10 people will return stuff. On a related note, a few times MrsPie and I have asked to return items to Amazon only to have the vendor say, "keep it, and we refund it anyway". On some items, it's more hassle/cost for them to receive the open-box/used item and trash it than it is to just eat the cost of the item. Think of it this way, if they're only making a dollar or two on an item, it doesn't make sense to pay someone to process the return.

I agree. The only thing I know about Bradford is my old neighbor didn't like him. I was out in the yard one day, and I heard this stream of yelling coming out of Rob's house, ending with "Bradford ### sucks, he sucks, I want Foles back."

LOL. It only plays Fairies wear boots for some reason; it's supposed to play all of We Sold Our Souls for Rock and Roll.

Evander Kane: Where Will EK9 Be Trade Deadline Day?
MattPie replied to Swedesessed's topic in The Aud Club
I wouldn't take a 2019 pick alone, but I'd trade something like Kane and a non-Buffalo 2nd and for SJ's 2018 first, + the other stuff in the deal. Buffalo essentially trades up in the draft 15-ish places and SJ ends up with the pick in the 2nd at least. -
The owners manual for my new stove has "Sabbath" mode. Some observant Jews take not working on the Sabbath very seriously, which includes pressing buttons, switches, and the like. I'm not sure how I understand how the stove works then, but you can read more here: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17357

Unless you drink 3 (or 4!) pints per hour like I used to. Even at 4.1%, taking in 200 abv-oz of alcohol per hour is a good time. I had two Dirt Wolves last night, and that's the same number; I didn't drink them in an hour though, I'm not as stupid as I used to be.

You need to up your compete, Son. I've canoed drinking Guinness. I've sweaty-camped drinking heavy IPA. I've had Saison in the winter. :)

This list is pretty close to mine, other than a few (Andreychuk, Paille, etc.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Boston_Bruins_players

Pick John Tavares' Next Team -- Update -- JT to Leafs
MattPie replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
It's kind of a shame that the NHL doesn't retain team names when they move like the NBA does, although the Islanders are staying put now that it looks like they're going to get a reasonable place to play. In the NBA, Utah Jazz is one of my favorites. In the NHL, how great would it be to have the Utah Islanders, Colorado Nordiques, Dallas North Stars, or if you want to go further back, the Dallas Golden North Seal Stars. -
I concur, JJ's is fine, but it's Mighty Taco to Taco Bell; a better than Subway but not by that much. Firehouse Subs has some good points but for me, Wegmans and a local chain called Primo's sit at the top of the heap. Everyday Sandwich Captain: Primo's Sharp Italian. Crusty, chewy, spicy, sharp, and fills the net. Fancy-pants generational Captain: Gorett's Original Sin from Iron Abbey in Horsham, PA. Brioche, roast beef, chorizo, gouda, soaked in beer gravy with a fried egg on top.

Different era in trades. The Lottery wasn't nearly as big a thing; firsts are worth more than they were.

I was all excited because I've been listening to a ton of classicAL (and Romantic era) music lately. There's so much good stuff out there on youtube it's incredible. Here's a good one.
