No kidding.

:w00t: My friends, we are on the precipice. The Sabres have 44 points with 25 games remaining. The math is pretty simple: win the next 25 games, and the Sabres will be in the running for 8th place with 94 points. MUST WIN!

Nope, he's smiling.

I'm sure they're jeggings.

I'm curious to see how PA feels about this. Employers are missing out, they could make the employee power their computer using the pedals.

Chester County is one of the more expensive in the country. A lot of that is driven by the really expensive old mansions (railroad money) closer to Philly, but it also affects the outer suburbs too. Once you get away from Philly, it's not nearly as crazy. That being said, Philly itself is relatively cheap for East Coast. You can actually buy houses in the city on a normal person income.

I don't love them either, although it's entirely likely my next house will be one. Personally, 2-story > ranch >>>>>> split foyer. That house probably runs $130k in Buffalo, don't worry. If you'd like some more sticker shock: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2597-Charlestown-Rd-Phoenixville-PA-19460/54739195_zpid/ This is house is just up the street from RosePIe's preschool. We're looking to move and thought, that'd be perfect, it's in a much better school district than we live in, Phoenixville is cool, and it's way closer to work for me. Completely not in our price range.

Even since I was a kid: why are there style points in Ski Jumping? Whomever gets furthest down the hill wins, full stop.

I think at even sniper distances it's minimal. http://dizzib.github.io/earth/curve-calc/index.html?d0=3&h0=6&unit=imperial If that's accurate, standing at 4 miles (6 feet tall), you'd be able to see all but a person's boots. It goes downhill (figuratively and literally!) quickly though, at 5 miles you'd miss anything below the groin, and at 6 miles, you'd miss an entire 6 foot person entirely. I really think getting up high is about getting over ground clutter and hills.

There's an interesting place over in Amish Country that looks like Nebraska. When I'm there, all I can see in any direction is flat fields. I'm pretty sure it's actually a very shallow bowl, as the area around that is pretty hilly. Because I'm at ground level I can't see over the slight rise that surrounds me. If I were probably 10 or 20 feet up, I'd see over the rise and see the mountains, farms, and everything else around me. If you're at ground level, anything more than 6 feet tall is going to block your sight line past that.

Royal Farms Fried Chicken. It was a weak moment; I fasted for some blood work and after I was done, I didn't have enough blood sugar or actual blood left to resist. It was worth it.

Nylander is an unfinished book. And, Miller, Ryan is an exception.

I have the other style (like the Jarvis posted above) here at home. The entire disk surface moves up and down with a hand crank; inside the legs there's some sort of gear mechanism that moves the entire thing up and down. It's tall enough (46-ish") that 6' 2" me doesn't have it all the way up when standing, and drops down far enough that it's lower than an average desk.

Prediction time: Will Lehner be traded at the deadline?
MattPie replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
1: No. I think he could be an asset as a backup to a playoff/bubble team (or maybe a team whose primary GT is UFA), but I don't think a team will be willing to pay enough to make J-Bot disturb the current situation. If it did happen, I could see J-Bot bringing in some rando to backup Johnson for the remaining 20-ish games as opposed to requiring a actual G prospect coming back; I assume he sees the future already in the system. 2: 3rd pick/prospect. That's about all I can see coming back. 3: I'd be OK giving him ONE more year on a cheap contract, but that's probably less than the $4M he's making today so I'm not sure I see it happening. Off-season deal/arbitration/something has to give, I don't think the guy is good enough to warrant $4M+ next year. -
If that doesn't work, I'd settle for trading Harrington to Vegas' local paper for some Papermate pens.

Eddie Johnston takes offense to this.

I have a cheaper version of one of those. It's really nice, although I think at some point I'm going to spring for the motorized thingy. The hand crank isn't bad but I do find myself not changing positions because I don't want to take the minute or two do it. Maybe I need to make it a game; shout "Alarm!" and start spinning furiously. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVBPGZEVRH0?t=20

I'm not running the numbers, but the team certainly looks better over the last 15 games or so (eye test), with the previous 40 weighing down the averages. We're parsing here. The team isn't better this season (so far) as you've shown. I bet the team is significantly better in the last month than any stretch since DD took over. That's more important to me and the team's future than the dreadful fall as that's A> in the past and B> the season is lost so there's no point in dwelling on it. That being said, I have little hope for this trend of good play continuing with Eichel out. Maybe a few games of "we need to pull together to make up for Jack" and then doldrums. My biggest worry (in this context) is that the team continues to play well and I have to listen people here talk about how Jack is a cancer and the team would be better without him. :wallbash:

Probably more thought than necessary; Don Cherry is like Donald Trump except Cherry's delusions have no impact outside HNIC.

I'm at the stage where my daughter thinks I'm hilarious (3.5 years), but I'm putting in the effort now so I'm at PeakDad later. MrsPie is the only one groaning over my jokes for a couple more years.

Jack's stride reminds me of speed skating (when he doesn't have the puck, at least); longer, smoother strides. In contract, lots of guys feet are moving a lot more but with no more speed.

Look "Forward" and lines combos maybe? I'm just winging it here.

Coverage: As someone mentioned, NBC Sports has full replays. I can see them through my Roku; I'd assume they're also available on their website but I haven't looked. Presumably, there are no interruptions but I don't know for sure. I was watching they ski jumping yesterday (live) and there was a lot of nothing going on and the announcers were just prattling away instead of cutting to some other event.

Let's see: slow to track the puck, puts skate against the post, waves arm around leaving a gigantic hole. Yep, that's the one.
