  1. I'd assume it's like watching pro-level darts where at least 2 of the 3 throws hit triple-twenty, right?
  2. I'm not sure JR is a troll most of the time just an older guy with older-guy style opinions about hockey.
  3. Realistically, the deputy is wrong from a legal perspective. As much as anyone flying a Nazi (or Confederate) flag is a moron, they have the right to proclaim how much of a moron they are.
  4. It's a shame Sam is terrible and will never be an NHL player. (did I do that right?)
  5. I think so.
  6. FTFY WNY more or less equals the old 716 area code. I'd guess that means 716 + 585 now? I'd say Southern Tier to be Area code 607 (i.e., not Chatauqua, but if they have a brewery named Southern Tier, they can have that name too.
  7. I agree. The Sabres have played a lot more time in danger of having an EN goal against them (down at the end of a game) than they've played with the chance that they'll score an EN goal (up at the end of a game).
  8. I wonder if we could convince them to fly this:
  9. The Civil War was based on them not being able to be racists any more, but they regained faith in their country when they figured out they could still legislate racism and keep things mostly the same. Nothing like flying the flag of people that tried to kill your ancestors! Northern Confederates are D.U.M.B.
  10. Traditionally, the Mason-Dixon line is the South (see also: Dixie). Since the US Civil War, Maryland has been disowned as they didn't commit treason against the US. As the Northern Virginia suburbs have filled up with city people, many people don't consider it the South, but anywhere outside that area is pretty Southern in practice. West Virginia is not the South, by nature of them seceding from Traitor Virginia during the war and joining the Union.
  11. North Carolina? :)
  12. I'm a coward, I'm not going to look to see what I posted. It's almost sure to be wrong.
  13. I remember it that way; a first for an unproven GT plus taking Legwand as a cap dump.
  14. Game 4 of the 25-game winning streak the Sabres need to get back into playoff contention! Let's Go Buffalo! Being NJ:
  15. You're too young to be this realistic about Buffalo Sports (BS). :)
  16. That's in the 30-minute video that came out several years ago, I think. I've mentioned this one before; it's geeky, and requires some team to play a guy named "Pin": Oh, Antipin just ANNIHILATED Pin! Now both teams are a man down!
  17. He's undercoached all season (or can't learn). I'm happy he has two shutouts last week. I'll be happier if he starts keeping the puck out of the net on shots it seems like most other GTs save. I'm not optimistic, he hasn't been doing that all season, other than the last 2 games. TL;DR: Sample size. If he keeps up his good play, keep him. If he plays the next 3 weeks like he has the entire season up to the last 2 games, trade him for whatever someone will give.
  18. Taro, I really think you're out in left field on this one. Lehner is either criminally under-coached (by both the current and previous goaltender coaches) or just cannot learn fundamentals. He generally looks terrible; leaving the post open, going down too early only to be beaten high, losing the puck when it goes behind the net, and kicking out huge rebounds. There were plenty of people that we not happy with the trade at the time, it's not a stretch that the Sabres would have picked Boeser. I don't think it's a stretch the Sabres could have traded their 2nd round pick for Lehner if GMTM was a better negotiator and the Sabres could have both.
  19. I am, but the jaded cynical Buffalo fan in me won't get excited unless they win the next 20 games.
  20. Strikers in Orchard Park proves the two aren't mutually exclusive: http://strikers.biz/beer-menu/ Thanks for the tip! I pass through there on my visits to Buffalo.
  21. I was thinking earlier today that I hadn't updated this in awhile. I haven't done it in so long I need to figure out how to do the math again. I should really write it down at some point. Games Played: 49 Points: 37 Points per game to reach 94: 1.727 Season Points at that pace: 142 (example record: 67-7-8) Record per 10: 9-1-0, 8-1-1, 7-0-3 Win Streak to get back to 94-point pace: 22 games. Note that if I had done the math Monday it would have been a 25-game win streak. :) There are 33 games remaining in the season, the Sabres only need to go something like 28-4-1 for the remainder to hit 94 points.
  22. There were seasons in there where teams would only play some of the three West divisions, but more games against each team in that division. I forget the exact make-up, but those were also the years you played your division rivals 8 times per season.
  23. I agree with the idea, but with as few offer sheets that have been signed I wouldn't worry too much about it. Unless there's some mechanism where after that $4M year Sam is UFA, we'd just match it and move on.
  24. Yes Thursday. Get some rest, man!
  25. It's a make-up call by the NHL to compensate for the NFL and the Pats.
