  1. Is that an exhibition game?
  2. If the Bills start Peterman, it'll be the opposing team's tent.
  3. Oh, the Bills will get a QB. I'd be surprised if it's a good one though.
  4. I saw just the new photo earlier and didn't get it; this is hilarious.
  5. Getting back to watching a little TV, trying to finish up Grand Tour and The Man in the High Castle (both Amazon). I read the Phillip K Dick book recently, and it didn't spoil the show for me (so far at least); the show seems to have at best a casual relationship with the book. It's almost like Amazon took the book as a concept framework and set of characters, and wrote some alternate fan fiction.
  6. Sorry, millbank. I like a leafs loss as much as the next guy, but that's a tough one.
  7. You can record in 24-bit 96khz and I'd be surprised if you could hear the difference if you're really worried about it.
  8. I tried it earlier in the Prime video search box (the same time the OSK was displayed on the TV); much easier.
  9. It wasn't entirely clear. The "remote" in the app looks much like the physical one, but there's a button somewhere that brings up your device keyboard. I'll have to look when I get home as it doesn't work when not on wifi. https://fieldguide.gizmodo.com/how-to-safely-share-your-hbo-netflix-and-other-stream-1797530211 It appears that some services are lenient about it, so sharing an account isn't always wrong. But I'd slog through the legal text. The NHL.tv one mentions (-ed?) a several-hundred $ fee if your service is cancelled for illegal usage (like VPNs or sharing).
  10. Ex-pats coming back to visit their parents.
  11. I didn't read all the way through, but this is a solid song, but mostly I remember it from seeing the video when we first got MTV in Elma.
  12. Depends on the rims and the damage. FWIW, depending on what you drive you may be able to pick up aftermarket rims for ~$100 on tirerack.com that don't look ridiculous (or steel rims for half that). Take that into account when the repair estimate comes in. :)
  13. I eagerly await to see where PA finds fault.
  14. I'd be surprised that those services don't have language that says streams are only for household members or legal residents where the service is. We could quibble about what a household is, etc., but in reality you're probably breaking the contract. It's on the "I'll burn you a copy of this CD" level rather than "here's a copy of the CD on my website for 1000s of people to enjoy" level; I doubt anyone is going to come after you (not yet at least). The Roku app on a smart phone has a full keyboard and acts as a remote. Not quite the same thing.
  15. FTFY.
  16. "Legal" you said? I think the cable company might not see that the same way. :)
  17. Built for the playoffs; physical and finesse.
  18. I'm splitting time on a few things: - Mastering Git (it's a source code/document revision control system; it's mostly used for coding, but you could use it for documents (Word, etc.) if you wanted - you could go back to any version of a file you check in and get it back) - The Man in the High Castle (I've watched some of the series on Amazon and decided to (very slowly) read the book) - Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (a modern translation from the guy listed above)
  19. Gerbe sighting top/right!
  20. People you contact a lot you probably like. People you like probably share common interests. When your friend likes/buys something that Facebook thinks is a common interest of yours, you'll see ads for that thing. Advertisers are happy because they feel like they're reaching people that are more likely to buy their product. No call: from what I understand, those "same area code and exchange" spam calls largely come from overseas. They don't exactly abide by the Do Not Call like. I saw that, and I don't know if I have a good answer. My best guess is something in your profile got corrupted and it either started a new profile for you. It's possible a disk is going back, what's you backup solution in case the system dies? That's impossible; it's not like the scammers can just use an app to slurp contacts or buy people's contact lists from Facebook. :)
  21. A simple way to say it is the D couver the Wingres and vice vresa, and the centres cover each outher. Even if that's not strictly true, in the defencive zone one of the forwards has to account for the 3rd forward while the D have the outher two. * Note I used Canadian spelling in the post
  22. I was under the impression that the USB port was only for power on those (my Roku streaming stick is my only experience); if you plug the USB cable on the stick into a wall USB charger (like from an old phone) it'll work fine. The video works via an HDMI port on the TV. I have a Roku something that's 4k compatible, but more important to me is it has a wired Ethernet which is more stable than Wifi. Also, the screen casting thing with the Roku looks a lot better than Google Chromecast (which I have built into my TV). The Chrome cast from a browser via "tab cast" only does 720p from the looks of it. Both have their uses. I don't think anyone has mentioned Youtube TV yet. I believe it carries all the NBC hench-channels so you'd be able to watch the hockey playoffs. Kodi: When I've tried Kodi, it's been hit or miss whether things actually work; maybe I need to try again if people are having luck with it. Also, what's the legality of "free"? There is certainly free content available for Kodi, but once you started talking about getting cable streams, you were veering into gray (or black) areas. I think the VPN is the important part there. Xbox, PS[3,4], Roku and Chromecast have native clients. I don't think Amazon Fire does, however. My config: FIOS internet, NHL.tv, Prime video, Roku, and Chromecast. If I get to the point where I'm worried about NHL playoffs, I'll probably do youtube.tv or some other service that's month to month. I have a Buffalo DirectTV login that I'll occasionally use to watch the Sabres on MSG if they're playing Philly or on NBC sports.
  23. On my Android phones in the past, pop up adds could always be traced to some questionable app I installed in the past. Where did you hear about Google Auto Ads? A quick Google turns up nothing, and frankly I don't think Google would alienate their users quite that forceably. :)
  24. Looking at Taro's signature, I think it's his baseball usage report. Error in the 1st, Error in the 2nd, and bench for the remainder of the game.
  25. Youtube has reinforced my belief in humanity.
