Taro sez: Our Pekar is is better than yours.

Shame Buffalo allowed 32.4 shots against per game last year, that'll only be good for a few wins.
-
Agreed. I only managed that one year in the middle of the dotcom boom; I got a "please don't leave" raise, a "well, we're paying new hires more than you so we'll bump you up" raise, and a normal rock-star performance raise. Never saw anything close to that again.

I've heard the "licker" data visualization software suite works really well for that.

Everything Sabres Uniform Related - Royal Blue Please!

If it's too noisy, you're too old. -
Except when you don't, but you've already moved over to the right in anticipation so now you're trying to cross back over 2-3 lanes of traffic. There are some jug handles here in SE PA, but they seem to be disappearing or just atrophying as PA wises up and puts left-turn lanes in too. Speaking of PA and roads, I think PennDOT has reached peak lazy road works on my commute home. There's an over-pass-exit in this gigantic nest of exits near where I work. A few weeks ago, PennDOT ground down the cement a couple inches in one pass, so part of the lane is ground down and the rest is still at the original level. This week, they filled in the ground down area with blacktop and painted stripes, so now there's a kinda-uneven wandering in and out of the lane black stripe of pavement in a section of road that's otherwise cement. This morning, another ramp in the same interchange was ground down, so I expect the same. Fortunately, they did a crappy job blending the ends so there's a dip in the beginning and a sharp edge at the end.

No votes for Glatt? I mean, he's a terrible hockey player, but...

I was going to say something about integrity, thanks for doing it for me. I like it, make a promise, stick by it. In this, he's certainly not the first person to quit a job after the company went in a direction he didn't like. Never going to happen. Like sports writers, low-population states have some extra power (even if it doesn't make sense) and they're never going to give it up.

Ugh, I had a mouse get into my desk drawer at work over the weekend and make a mess.

Duolingo app is pretty good for getting a few words into your vocabulary.

My vote: Abnormally cold winter extends the sea down to a small Labrador coastal town. (I don't have FX, but I just marked the book down as a "Want to Read". -
Yep. Plate data dump: My Subaru doesn't have any sort of bracket for the front plate. There are two little dimples in the bumper where the screws for the bracket go. My friend had an Altima that the dealer gave her the flimsy plastic bracket when she bought the car. I'm trying to remember what I did with my old car; I think I had the Maryland tag on the front and the PA one on the back for awhile, but took that off and put maybe a Sabres plate on the front? Or that one didn't have a bracket but just the holes so I left it as-is. I considered taking a sheet metal plate and using it for bumper stickers.

Two-person carry; I assume you've never had a sleeping toddler in a stroller; I'm well practiced. :)

Mine were Hedy LaMeowr, Wilhelmina von Bitenkitten, and Max Doodledorfer von Barfenkitten.

Backronyms are (almost?) always pronounceable, otherwise there's no point. Acronyms not so much, as FCC, NSA, IBM, TBN, and HHDCRGDDB show.

That's OK, some are setting it rather high. Are Swedes known for bombast and hype? Newly appointed national team coach, and former bench boss of Sweden's U20 team, Rikard Grönborg referred to Asplund as the new Henrik Zetterberg, saying that they have the same mind for the game.

There are two of you?!!?

I will admit the thought occurred to me. :) Nice work, Josie!

Loving the R9T and R1200RT-Ps in that picture. (those are motorcycles) -
You're right; Royal Wedding has a novelty to it; there probably won't be another for a couple decades. Sadly, the same cannot be said for Kardashians.

Generally speaking, I think it goes back to the Jewish calendar, which predates solar calendars and the Religions that grew out of Judiasm, Christianity and Islam[0], kept some of the lunar calendar structure. It's easier to count lunar months than solar years for early civilizations. The Mayan calendar is decidedly non-Lunar, though, but they were accomplished astronomers. It was a bit of an eye-opener when I was in Thailand, as they use a solar calendar using the same days as the Gregorian Calendar, but they use the Buddhist Era as a start point so it's 2561 there. First time I encountered non-CE years. [0] I hope I'm not offending anyone here, but those three are closely related

You're right to be skeptical. It's also not impossible that no one in the western hockey press would dare write a take down piece on a Canadian National hero. I'm stereotyping here but, being an old white guy from rural Canada, I'd say it's a higher-than-average chance that "Crazy Uncle Bobby" holds some views that are deplorable. Maybe he could run of office in Illinois..

Svechnikov vs. Dahlin; Not as clear cut as it seems???
MattPie replied to Onceagain's topic in The Aud Club
This is part of the normal flow of pre-draft hype, right? It seems like (almost) every year people start to scrutinize the likely top picks and someone always writes about how the consensus #2-3 pick might be as good as #1. -
I'm not sure if that's a typo, but I love it.

Very cool! I have a big bag of Genmaicha tea at home, which is a mix of roasted rice and green tea. It's an interesting taste.
