  1. Is the deadline today or something?

  3. That'll certainly be his whipping-boy nickname here.
  4. The late 1st is probably overrated, there was a post here in the last few weeks showing the "knee" of the pick success odds is around #23, meaning picks 23 to 31 aren't much more likely to hit than early second round. It's sticker shock, but in terms of results this wouldn't be much different than giving the Sabres (presumably early) second round pick*. There's just a cachet to "1st round pick". I haven't been paying attention, did @jame flame-out? I figured he'd be all over this thread. * I don't know if the Sabres actually have a second this year, it's just an example.
  5. Big news, changing the math to 97 points. In recent years, 97 is safe, 94 certainly isn't. Here's the full sheet using 97 as the baseline up to the 5-2 win over the Caps. 6. Now all you guys need to do is attend every game for the rest of the year to keep the streak going.
  7. And yet, people here continue to complain about Svbotka getting ice time. I don't have an opinion on his play as I've been letting my NHL.tv subscription go to waste for months, but if the coach did demote people that weren't trying, the fans here would just complain about that.
  8. Players drafted in 2016 haven't had a chance to bust yet. I'm sure we'll be moaning about them in 2022.
  9. The Sabres season, in terms of points per game can be summed up as: mediocre, the streak, sub-mediocre. That's not going to change this season.
  10. As someone who started a GDT this year, I'm offended. ?
  11. The 10-game records help too: 6-3-1, 5-1-3. That's a lot more wins than losses.
  12. Taxes aren't done yet, but that's what's looking like. I must be in the goldilocks zone where the new standard deduction isn't as much as what I was deducting before but my marginal rate is the same. Note that I'm not doing any crazy tax gymnastics or anything, mortgage interest, child credit, some charity donations, that's it.
  13. The tax cut. I don't mind paying my taxes. It's the price we pay to create a society. I *do* mind my taxes going up as a result of a tax cut for people with more money than they know what to do with. Note, I'm not talking about refund, either. (2018 federal withholding + tax payment) = (2017 federal withholding + tax payment + 1.5% gross salary). Yeah, I just took a 1.5% tax hike.
  14. I forgot about the last win, I think when I looked it was 90.something. That 1.308 pace is 107 points over a season. It seems unlikely the Sabres are going to be one of the top teams in hockey over the next two months.
  15. No. I haven't pasted my math in awhile, but they're below the pace to even get to 94. Expecting them to suddenly get significantly better for the next 2 month is luderous. There's a reason I switched to sad Keanu. I wish it wasn't true.
  16. Glad I'm not the only one that sees the pattern. ?
  17. Don't underestimate this, it helps ROR that he lives in a state where Tim Horton's doesn't have legal standing (presumably, I've never seen on that's not in NY in the US).
  18. Can't tell if this is sincere or subtly hilarious.
  19. Girgensens. He came up from Rochester and then played pretty well for a season under Nolan.
  20. It's an unholy alliance of Lucky Charms, Frankenberry, and Rich's Creamer flowing under the city.
  21. That cannot be spelled correctly given the context.
  22. I'm not sure there's a definitive answer to this, but that's the gist.
  23. I go with the traditional subtle signal there: Sabres vs. Wild == at home, Sabres at Tokyo Katanas == away. I was sorely tempted to be more negative or sarcastic; this was the best I could do to squelch that.
  24. Tune in to see the Buffalo Sabres play hockey against the Minnesota Wild.
