  1. I'm more familiar with the Southtowns, so 42 North and Hamburg are goto. If it counts, Southern Tier but that's not exactly Buffalo. My usual Buffalo process is to stop in at Aurora Brew works when I get there, buy a couple 6-packs of interesting stuff, get a pizza at Pasquale's down the street, and drink that for the week. My and MrsPie's parents are local to there though, so it's easy.
  2. Realistically, in uncertain times you jettison the things that are peripheral and not needed so you have time to focus on your core. I'd strongly guess the Pegulas aren't planning on creating a franchise fast-food empire, and the shop wasn't making enough money (with minimal traffic downtown) to be worth the trouble.
  3. All evidence seems to say no, as much as I'd like it to be true. Valuable piece, maybe a great player to run the second powerplay unit, but it doesn't seem like 2C is in the cards.
  4. I agree, or maybe the sabre-through-B from the Goathead, but that'd tax my artistic ability.
  5. I'll trot this concept out again. Just update the blue.
  6. Oh, Happy Canada Day, ya hosers.
  7. BUF -> IAG, I suppose.
  8. There was talk about this before, maybe using Reinhart back there. I don't know if they ever tried it.
  9. He's very clean.
  10. Love that Bebe Neuwirth randomly comments on it. Anyway, haircuts: earlier in the lockdown, I figured this is my best, last chance to rock a mohawk because I think it'd be hilarious to grow a gray one. MrsPie cuts my hair anyway, and she's on-board. First thing she does is out of habit run the clippers on #2 up the back of my head. Whoops! So she does a faux-hawk, because I can't convince her to shave the sides down to nothing (and it'd be hard to connect my beard anyway). Next time, she remembers to not shave the middle, but with my not-as-luxurious hair in a particular spot it doesn't work very well , so the faux-hawk is here to stay.
  11. FWIW, arguing that "well, it *happened* that after NYS went into lockdown and started mandating mask use the deaths dropped off quickly is just correlation" sounds a lot like someone saying, "well, sure, Jeff Skinner got traded to the Sabres and start scoring tons of goals with Eichel, but we don't know if he would have scored those goals with another center anyway". It's all correlation because we can't run 10-20 runs to see, but at some point you watch what's happening in Texas and Florida and say, "lockdowns and masks seem to work so it's a good idea".
  12. It's like a low-formatting printout of twitter with more ads.
  13. I'm guessing Scandinavian populace didn't let Russian trolls (and a certain prolific tweeter) convince them that mask usage was weak and wore them even if not mandatory. AITA: I've been riding the bike a lot this year (for me, ~300 miles since April) and I don't wear a mask. Most of that is on streets so there's no issue maintaining distances as I pass pedestrians. I was on a bike trail yesterday and due to the size of the trail and people walking 2-3 wide even after a alert them or ring the bell, I'm passing closer than that. What would Ann Landers tell me?
  14. That's actually a really cool concept. I applaud them for giving it a go.
  15. You need to cut out that "retard" stuff. Bad look.
  16. Damn it, I was thinking this all through the thread and you beat me to it.
  17. And for a more soft reason, teams will want to know their UFA/RFA and desires based on the post-season before drafting (or trading around draft picks for players).
  18. I mean, this is hockey. It's not unusual to require emergency dental work. Do you want to be searching the Boston phonebook for a dentist after taking a puck to the face in the morning skate? Actually, now I'm wondering if the dentist travels with the team or are they in the office/on call whenever there are players (home or opponents) in the building. So if a Bruin takes a puck to the face ol' Doc Croglio patches him up.
  19. I've been fading away for awhile now, and if the team is heading towards a grinding game I'm out. I do realize you can play fast and skilled AND have all those "blue-collar" attributes, but those players are pretty hard to come by.
  20. The Lackers And Done The Residents of the United States of America Uriah Meep The Meatles Mage Against the Machine (I see some awesome 70s van-art album covers from that one) Manthrax Reel Big Dish Legendary Pink Pots
  21. Ah, cool. There's a path/trail on the top of the flood barrier all along US15 in Williamsport too. Around here the Schuylkill River Trail is the place to go if you want to hit longer distances without a lot of road; it's in sections, but from here it's complete-ish all the way into Philly (+-20 miles). The parts I've seen are mostly flat, other than a moderate hill right here near Phoenixville where they couldn't follow the river. https://schuylkillriver.org/map/
  22. Make sense. Many people aren't going to commit 3-9 hours of football on Sunday and 2-3 NHL games the rest of the week.
  23. I'm been riding a bit lately too, and I did 12 miles in around an hour on Monday. Paved and gravel fairly flat canal trail and streets, on my (I guess) vintage 2001 Trek 4900 MTB.That's way more than the usual 4-6 mile quick ones I do most of the time. Around here, the bike trails are generally pretty flat since they're rail or canal, but the roads you can end up in decent hills really quickly (think southern Erie County).
