  1. This is a lot like the Allen pick. Somewhat out of nowhere, everyone asking "why?", and most of all, risky. It worked for Allen, maybe it does again. Not that way I'd bet.
  2. I see it now, after making dozens of C's into RW, they're going to try it the other way.
  3. I'd think they went to Tage with a minimum deal for 2 years, or this as an upgrade. More guaranteed money buys an extra year of cost certainty.
  4. Probably. In all seriousness, it wouldn't be weird if the Sabres did/said something at the first game about him. Dude was a sponsor for a long time.
  5. That still has a real "Basement Internet Troll" aesthetic nailed, LOL. (No disrespect to John, this is COVID, anything goes)
  6. Man, this was my take.
  7. Maybe Lawyer -> Law Enforcement -> Military Dress Up -> Trump \-> Golf -> White people -> Trump I bought some paracord for shoelaces a few years ago and unwittingly stumbled into a whole culture of "survial self-defense". I got Military Dress Up and gun stuff for months. Same with looking for a waterproof backpack for my laptop, apparently that translates to needing bug-out bags so I can run off into the woods for months during the apocalypse.
  8. Maybe he just got sick of people reporting the "rumor" to him or whatever, and decided to put an end to it. Otherwise, he'd have had to tweet something next week like, "re Eichel to the Rangers that's burning up twitter, there's nothing there". This way it saves of week of hysteria.
  9. Didn't Darcy end up out there? Yep, although left in 2016. Nothing to see here.
  10. I agree. Maybe you get to 6-7 teams that you wouldn't mind going to. Then you think strategically and say, "I bet Team X won't trade for me, so I'll put them on the list and it's almost as good as using a won't accept spot". And, he hasn't retired... yet.
  11. Oh, don't mind me then!
  12. I'm going with quantum entanglement. Given the available data in a circumstance, you can make a risky decision and have it turn out OK. It doesn't mean anyone is stupid or wrong, just that a less probable outcome occurred. For instance, I can jump off an RV onto a table aflame with lighter fluid and *NOT* get hurt, but it doesn't mean the person telling me it's a bad idea was wrong. Josh Allen was a risky pick compared to the alternatives. It's nice that it turned out OK.
  13. Or just skip a season. It's not like the NHL hasn't done it before.
  14. Not me. Well, mostly. I did compile an Android Hello World on my original Motorola DROID (you have to read that in the same tone as the commercials), but out side that I'm at 0%. I had to look up Realm and Atlas in the context of Mongo to see what they meant.
  15. Still think Chess is a game. If you can play 100% as well by telling someone else what to do, it's not a sport. Fortnite (and eSports in general) are right on the line for me. There's not much difference there for me between those and darts, billiards, or even golf. Master your muscle movement and reactions and that's the skill. Actually, esports are probably more sports than darts or billiards, since there's time-sensitive reactions involved.
  16. Not recommended, even 15% and it probably crosses center of gravity and:
  17. DNS (name to internet address) caches for a certain amount of time, so you may have been trying to the old address on your computer, but your phone needed to get the address fresh and was OK. (that's a guess)
  18. Are we on a RHEL6 variant? That's the big one that's EOL around then...
  19. Aww, shucks. But yes, as much as I'm flattered I don't feel like I'm on here enough to mod. If you need a moderator in absentia I'm your guy.

    I didn't lose anything, I just don't remember where I saved it.

I wouldn't worry, I've been here for like 13 years and nearly 10000 posts and I'm not in. ?
  22. Name changed in my post!
  23. I think it's in bad taste and also not particularly funny. Considering the Salmon Canal Holler Trail Association is apparently more than some person with an email address, the person responsible for that email should know better than to alienate people. I'm not sure firing is in order, but a "whoops, that was dumb email" and not having it happen again is good.
  24. Dinosaurs gonna dino.
  25. I thought there was an exception that the team could wear a previous jersey as-is?
