  1. Based on that other info that Fish was still Eichel's agent at that meeting with NHL, NHLPA, etc. last week, so it's easy to make a leap that something happened there that caused Fish to be canned. There are a lot of things that could be, Eichel wants to dig in on surgery but Fish told him it's not going to happen, Eichel is tired and wants to heal up and play and Fish is still trying to force a trade, Fish was a giant jerk of something and Eichel wants someone more seasoned, etc.
  2. Skimmed the article: sure, Sweden a ton more people died, but they didn't risk "Freedom and liberty", so essentially it's OK if people die as long as I can shop and not wear a mask. I don't think there's a lot of people buying that BS. Nice that's it's .AU, showing that there are callous people outside the USA. Link? The only CDC link I saw posted here said the opposite.
  3. Indeed: https://www.newyorker.com/news/dispatch/swedens-pandemic-experiment
  4. I think you're talking past each other. The CDC link above says two-dose (Pfizer and Moderna), and those links all appear to be talking about single-dose, right?
  5. I feel like it'll never end. Trade, no trade, it'll be going for years; maybe until he's retired.
  6. While I hate driving my Sienna, it just feels ponderous, if you set up your lines really well it'll hustle OK. Fast enough to be annoyed by slow-pokes on Harleys on a twisty road (AMHIK). Chevy had an SUV-looking van for awhile, but I don't think it sold well. Never really did dream cars. While I spend a decade or two loving cars and reading things, dreaming, it's still a tool in the end. So I've owned my two dream cars, 2002 WRX and 2011 WRX. Four doors (although if I bought another it'd be a hatch), practical, good in snow. And I riot to drive on just about any road. Next car will likely be an Outback to eventually replace the van, or an electric for non-trip driving.
  7. I think so! Also: this thread would have been even more awesome if Ink hadn't included a picture in the original post for the ultimate creepiness.
  8. Do I still count if the only interaction I have with the Sabres Universe is reading the occasional thread or two in here? I have zero plan to watch games this year (like the last two).
  9. They lost me 1-2 years ago. I don't think I've watched a whole game in at least that long. EDIT: now that I think about it, I'm not sure I could watch the games. We moved Pietowne to Ithaca in June, and I may be in the market; I'm sure not getting cable. In Philly I did NHL.tv for awhile.
  10. If I remember right, he actually waited for Domi; the penalty had expired for a second or three before he stepped out.
  11. I picked the first AHL team that came to mind, the Phantoms, and found this (granted, 2000-2010 era): EDIT: looked, it appears that every Phantoms head coach since 2000, other than Scott Gordon and Greg Gilbert, played for the Flyers at some point.
  12. Damn, now I'm all confused.
  13. Lindy referred to him as "Patches", right? And if I recall, coach asked if he ever skated at forward and he replied "yes" despite not having done so to dress for a game.
  14. I have a friend that works for the NFL, he's seen the new player handbook. There are a lot of "real life" things in there that seem obvious to us, but if you think about an NFL draftee, they likely lived at home to college, then college with team staff or groupies to take care of a bunch of things, and now they're tossed into "real life" with a lot of money and no idea how to do normal surviving stuff. Some of the things I remember my friend talking about: How to pay your bills How to not get in fights at bars when someone trash talks Watching out for people trying to con you
  15. Sands of Iwo Jima. Love a twist.
  16. Doing good. Just wrapped up moving to Ithaca so I have a chance to breath a little. Moving sucks.
  17. A goathead with a paper bag on either it's head or your head.
  18. I can see it now, that blond guy comes out on the ice, tears open a white and blue bubble bag with gloves inside, and then cuts open a Prime-labelled cardboard box and pulls the Stanley Cup out. Bettman says on the mic, "This is the best Prime Day ever for the Tokyo Katanas!"
  19. Here's hoping that the juju has flipped and the Pats always play the Bills tough but end up short in the end, the opposite of the last 20 years.
  20. I didn't see any of it, but fumble in the red zone down 3 with 30 seconds left *does* seem like a familiar story.
  21. FWIW, Ray does "tell it like it is" at times, but I bet that's not his full unfettered opinion. Just as much as he figures he can get away with.
  22. I agree. That reads like a "You need to sign-off on this PR release RIGHT NOW" statement, not a "I've been searching my heart for years" statement.
  23. Only think about Girgs I haven't seen mentioned is that the contract makes him less desirable in Expansion, but other threads seem like the Sabres won't have an issue protecting him anyway.
  24. NASA's OSIRIS-REx team uses some of the servers my coworkers and I run for doing flight calculations. It's like I have a teeny-tiny bit of space exploration in my resume, lol.
  25. I bet OSP wishes he was still an owner.
