  1. Jabra 75t work well enough for me, use them for work (although the mic isn't as good apparently as the built-in Macbook mic), and work well enough for doing yardwork and other stuff. I don't sit and just listen much, but no complaints there either. I have a decent pair of wired IEMs too, and I rarely use them since the Jabras work well enough.
  2. Team performance? 50/50. UPL's getting shelled in his first NHL game this season? Almost rather play Dell and give UPL the next start.
  3. Will they really fly him there and with no practice with the team start UPL? That seems like a a recipe for a poor outing.
  4. I agree. Good is a relative term, this team isn't, but it's not a tire fire. Maybe I have some PTSD from all those years people would be saying "We can still make the playoffs!" when the math said they have to play 30 games at a 120 pts/season pace to get to where the bubble would likely be. 🙂
  5. NARRATOR: It was too soon to think there were good. It's certainly possible, but the math is tough. 60 games remaining, Sabres are at 19 points. Figuring 96 points gets you into the playoffs most years, that's 77 over the next 60, 1.28 pts/game. Over a full season that's 105 points. Not unreasonable, but that's a pretty solid pace that the Sabres haven't shown any ability to match.
  6. Kinda disappointed the Paisley Pirates' sweaters aren't paisley. But congrats, Steve!
  7. What if it was Joel Lomurno named GM, still good with that plan? He's an ECHL GM too, just not with the name recognition around here Briere has.
  8. This is not a Fugazi post.
  9. I think a player can waive their NMC/NTC whenever they want, but I'm not sure how many GTs waive unless it's Buffalo or the AHL (which may well be the case in Dallas). For that matter, I wonder how many teams are waiting to see if Dallas ends up facing waiving someone and will low-ball offer a low pick.
  10. Technically, he was banished to Missouri. For that matter, maybe we've been looking at the O'Reilly trade wrong; that was balancing out the Miller trade which went badly for the Blues, IIRC.
  11. Back at it today, apparently. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/7293175-Omaha-Lancers-resuming-hockey-operations-on-Monday
  12. I'm not sure how "great" this is without know how many buildings Calgary had before. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calgary_Fire_of_1886
  13. How about a: NOGOAL 99
  14. Yep, he is of the old school, if you didn't win you lost. The metric usually aligns with the points to get into the playoffs, so it's not terrible, although I prefer points percentage as a better. 0.580 and you're a good chance to get into the playoffs with 95 points. You could be DeLuca.500 at 41-37-4 and easily miss with 86 points. Or be DeLuca.500 at 41-15-26 and be near the top of the league with 108 points.
  15. Is the team dog a "thing", or something unique to the Sabres? I've been to a few tech conferences[0] (prior to 2020) that had puppy areas, where you could go hang out with dogs (and maybe even cats at one) during downtime. [0] CNCF/KubeCon and Red Hat-sponsored stuff
  16. Not interested in giving up assets for a feel-good move. As others said upthread, come UFA time if Kane is interested in a short-ish, mid-price contract to close things up in Buffalo, maybe. Don't like the scandal stuff, although if KA got a feel that he truly says to himself, "that was really dumb and I'm never letting that happen again" I'm cool with second chances. Otherwise he can play somewhere else.
  17. Seems like a conditional 7th (if the Sabres win the Stanley Cup in 2022) would be a good "Future Considerations". 🙂 I think the trade deadline sell-off is probably the most likely spectre. That close to the cap, you might not be able to trade even a JAG for a pick without falling under the floor (or taking something back). Boychuk is insurance from having to do weird cap games. Still like to see the Sabres bring him by and hit him in the knee a few timtes though. Oh man, I wish I could find it but I just saw a picture of a pair of bikes joined at the back wheel (three wheels total, one rider is forward, the other backwards, presumably either can be the forward person.)
  18. I don't know what world you live, but that's exactly what we need to do. 🙂
  19. Nope, it's all upward from here! Let the era begin! (I thought about calling it the Non-Eichlel/Unjacked/etc. Era, but I don't come here to be negative; no time for that)
  20. First game of the Krebs/Tuch era!
  21. Very true, Cozens will be a disappointment if his byline is "can fight, doesn't put up many points". That's a JAG that is a waste of a high draft pick.
  22. It's the 5G installing itself, you should get signal in a few hours and it'll settle out.
  23. Someone said it further up, but sure, he's probably #2 behind Thompson for scoring centers. That's still not a trade off you take. Murray or even Girgensons can deal with the pest if needed, but the point stands: having Cozens off the ice hurts the Sabres and helps the Kings.
