Boo, that's one of my favorites. George Lazenby is the man.

Good point in the last few. Chicago isn't going to take less from the Sabres because the Sabres, unlike many teams, can take the entire salary. If it comes down to A Sabres pick + prospect for Kane vs someone else's two picks and a prospect for Kane w/50% retained, I have to think Chicago takes the latter every time. They need the cap hit and the assets. The only way the Sabres make this trade is if Kane forces it (won't waive for anyone else, etc.). We can see if he wants to be a Sabre next July.

What were you the most wrong about regarding a Sabres draft pick?
MattPie replied to mjd1001's topic in The Aud Club
Just the other day I remembered telling someone, "Risto and Zadorov look really good together and they're both like 20. I can see them skating together for a long time". -
In computer science, a linker is a computer program that takes one or more object files generated by a compiler and combines them into one, executable program. So the Sabres are combining into a team that can step up and execute. Easy.

He instigates some solid analysis and thoughtful conversation.

Based on where it is, and that fire fighters had to cut there way in (??) I'm guessing people have been squatting there.

Mapleleafs fans voted "Most Annoying" & "Most Delusional"

<<<<<<< I am a fair-weather fan. I haven't watched a game in years. I'm not sure what it says about me that I still frequent here. -

With the way the Buffalo diaspora shows up at away games when the team is good, there's no doubt. -
Sabres Re-Sign Craig Anderson to 1 Year 1.5 Million AAV Extension
MattPie replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
That's probably reasonable, really. If the scouting reports line up, Portilo might end up as a back-up. Maybe Marty Biron should have a chat with him about how being a backup in Buffalo isn't that bad. 🙂 -
I do it from time to time, trying to make it a daily 15 minute thing. Did today outside, that was nice. This sounds like a ridiculous recommendation, but Cosmic Kids Yoga on Youtube. There's no woo-woo yoga stuff, and almost all the sessions are 30-60 minutes and a parody of some pop-culture story (Star Wars, Frozen, whatever). I do it with my daughter (7) but if I were going to pick a random youtube thing to use, I'd consider it because it's not annoying. I've done Peleton's yoga sessions a few times, and they're a bit intense for me. I think the app is like $7 or $11 a month, and if you're interested in their other stuff (the spin class stuff of course but also various cardio and strength workouts too) it might be worth it. It's not woo-woo, but it's kinda high-energy (if that applies to yoga at all) with music and the instructor being kinda shouty. Free trial for I think 2 months. The content available at one time is kinda limited, but I think there are occasional live sessions and new stuff rotating through. I have a subscription to Wahoo's Systm for my bike smart trainer, and they also have yoga and workouts too. I probably wouldn't recommend it if you're not going to use the bike stuff, really, but the strength workouts and yoga are zero-nonsense which I kinda dig. It's literally a person standing on a mat with a concrete wall and floor, like a factory building, doing the workouts with a fairly monotone voice narrator describing what you should be doing. The killer feature for me is you can just set up a plan (Yoga 7-days a week and Level 1 strength 3-days a week, I think I'm doing) and it just puts them on a calendar. This isn't unique by any means, but oh do I love just doing whatever it says and not thinking about it.

Pessimist-mode: - Tage scores no more than 25. - UPL looks terrible at every turn, and the Sabres' goalie purgatory continues - Despite this, the Sabres finish with more points than this season, but out of the playoffs

To be honest, the City of Good Neighbors tends to be far more aggressive and rude than other places I've lived. Especially about trail/bike stuff, but just in general too. I've lived in two pretty bike friendly areas (Southeast PA and Ithaca) though, I'm sure it's much worse than Buffalo other places. Side trail note: rode the Island Line in Burlington VT over the weekend. Fantastic trail, and local people were really awesome. The only tough part was on the way back when the less-trail-experienced tourists were wandering all over the place.

Sabres Re-Sign Craig Anderson to 1 Year 1.5 Million AAV Extension
MattPie replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
To be fair, Anderson is last year's scraps. But I like this if there's another move coming. The thread is actually pretty sane, most people aren't freaking out after the Twitter quote about Buffalo still being in on the other FA/trade options. -
Yeah? I was once in the office space below the seats where Adelphia used to house some IT staff. 🙂

Revisiting the trail discussion: Last week, I was on a local multi-use trail on my bike. This part of the trail is a relatively wide dirt road (two cars easily could pass each other). Couple is walking with their dog unleashed, one on each side of the road and the dog dead center in the middle. I'm not riding through the gap between you and your dog. I slowed down a bunch (I wasn't going that fast, they saw me coming) and said, "come on guys, pick a side". They kinda apologized but how can you be so oblivious.

Apparently so, from Wikipedia: On July 17, 2017, Campbell announced his retirement, but also that he would join the Blackhawks' business operations department where he will be assisting with various marketing, community relations, and youth hockey initiatives.

They can get it in another trade. 🙂

Or Elvis.

I may have been the first to mention the Rangers, and I did it solely as one of the two teams that were on the cusp of the SCF and would be looking for that extra push next season. Zero research on whether it really made sense for the Rangers. 🙂 The bolded are extremely good points. First one, I hadn't looked at that perspective but you're right. The situation is different, but trading away (I assume) your best player and getting a pick and some unsigned prospects would bring out da pitchforks. Although, Sam Reinhart only netted an unsigned goalie and a (late) first, for one year of service. Kane is on a different level but maybe it's closer value than an Eichel trade because it's only 1 year.

Chicago may not be particularly interested in VO. If they're going to be terrible for a couple years, they're using up his RFA years and would probably be just getting good when it's time for his next contract. I'd think they'd want someone under control for longer.

#28 and Ryan Johnson is getting close to something I'd consider, but I'm still TeamUFA. I'd keep Olofsson before a 50/50 #28 to ever make the NHL. Is there some rumblings that we want to be rid of Olofsson or vice versa? He seems to come up in trades a lot, but seemed like he was playing reasonably well.
