  1. Apropos for a Buffalo sports fan.
  2. I wonder how many of the "Super Mario" shirts they're selling. :)
  3. I could go either way. I had a Twitter account for several years that I paid no attention to whatsoever. It don't think it's unthinkable that he was hacked, but I'm not sure why you'd be removed from the team because of a hack.
  4. Yeah, really. That's a lot of money, but not "I'm rich!" money. Probably 50% to taxes on winnings off the top, and the rest puts him at middle class ($50k/yr) for 10 years. A nice nest egg or investment, but you're still going to be a working stiff for awhile.
  5. Damn, now you have my hopes up for some kind of resolution, any resolution, sooner rather than later.
  6. I think people in Philly are ready to latch onto anything that isn't Andy Reid right now judging by WIP this morning. I know it's a little sick, but the only time I tune into sports radio around here is after an Eagles loss so I can hear the meatheads go apocalyptic. My thoughts exactly.
  7. +1 on that. She's reasonably hot until she opens her mouth. Hmmm, that may cause a problem too.
  8. I was going to say Holzinger, I seem to remember Sanderson scoring some goals with all that speed.
  9. Well, hopefully they'll listen to their marriage counselor.
  10. IMHO, Drambuie isn't something you'd drink on it's own. I've done it, it's really sweet and a little syrupy. As someone mentioned, the Rusty Nail (50/50 with whiskey) is awesome. I'm not sure I'd use a nice Scotch with it since the Drambuie may overpower the Scotch, but the peaty note may be interesting. I think I know what I'll be trying later tonight. I've always done it before with whatever Irish or Canadian whiskey I've had on-hand. Michael Collins Single Malt Irish Whiskey is nice. It's like a less-intense Scotch.
  11. This is the first year I've had to do double-Thanksgiving. I think I managed to do it reasonably well since I weigh the same today as I did yesterday. I contributed a savory corn bread pudding to both. Cast iron skillet, sweat onions, rosemary, and thyme with butter. Pour a batter of cornmeal, eggs, cream, cream corn, parmesan cheese, cubed french bread, etc. over the top of the herbs and bake. It's far more moist than average corn bread, and not sweet at all. Great stuff. One of these times I'm going to chop a jalapeno to put in it, but I'm always making it for other people so I don't want to screw it up.

    OT: Hobbies

The early PS3s (with four USB ports) did play PS2 games via extra hardware. The later models deleted that functionality. I've never thought about PS1 games, there's probably enough CPU in the PS3 to do the emulation in software.
  13. It's on now (Tuesday, 11:30am). Sounds like this may be Marty's first game, so I'd think it was an emergency. Edit: Not is first game, that was December 26th, 1995. This game is January 1996 so he's played maybe one or two.
  14. And both did some National broadcasts, right? I'm going with that.
  15. Just a silly joke about an illegal goal. Unless I find out Maradona is having Twitter-fights with Englanders about a decades-old goal. ;) EDIT: Then it occurs to be that the goal was Brett Hull not Roenick. Can I plead drunk on that one or do I have to go with incompetence? I have no idea how I got that confused.
  16. Ah, I see now. His player plays it while he's on-sides, then the defender kicks it up and back after that. It just looked like he was out in the middle of nowhere when the ball popped up and I thought the attacking player made the last kick. For the England thing, what you're saying is he's a second-rate Roenick, then? :)
  17. I'm confused, they're celebrating a goal that was illegal? And wasn't he off-sides to boot?
  18. Girl yes, super-spy: not so much. That's pretty much what I have, replacing the trenchcoat with my Sabres jersey. No, you can't see the pictures.
  19. It was close enough then? :) Heh, inconceivable! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CP-RQkeXkf8
  20. Not the most discrete look. I'm looking for a brunette in a red trenchcoat wearing stockings but no skirt.
  21. Cinnamon-Cayenne brownies, had to wander around work today giving them away before I ate the entire 8x8 dish. The first thing you get is the cinnamon, which fades into chocolate. Then, the cayenne makes a nice little burn at the end.
  22. Saale no mobaarak! The internet tells me that's right, hoepfully I didn't call you a son of a motherless goat. :)
  23. Anyone in the King of Prussia PA general area Thursday night, I'm planning on going out the have a couple beers and watch the game. I'm not sure of the location yet but all are welcome.
  24. 1> is it? I work for a large company and they play musical chairs every couple months up top. My job doesn't change, I just keep getting stuff done. When I'm not posting here, that is. ;) 2> Which military leaders? I haven't been paying that much attention, but Gen. Allen is the only one I've heard mentioned and he's just being investigated. Patraeus isn't a military leader any more. 3 and 4> No opinion, they got some 'splaining to do. Businesses would probably be better off trying to figure out how to make money than whining about the government is stopping them. Many companies have recorded record profits over the last 4 years, they have it figured out. 5> Yeah, there were some of those in 2004 too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Vermont_Republic. I'll give it more consideration when they get to 1% of the population. 6> The twitter angle is fun, but Israel isn't going to cause WW3 directly. They may have to fight it out with their neighbors, but I really doubt they're going to pull any of the big powers into it. That'll happen when the US gets desperate and starts trying to appropriate resources from the rest of the world by force. I probably won't be around to see it though.
  25. The CEO of my company doesn't need to know how to run IT systems, just like the director of the CIA doesn't need to know how to be a spy. So far, Patraeus appears to have been able to keep his secrets, the other party blew the... cover. I like to think that many people can seperate work and home. I wouldn't tell my fiancee (or mistress, if I had one) anything about work, that's the most boring thing I can think of to talk about. The teehee bit is getting old, really. If you have something intelligent to offer please do. Senators (and probably Governors) have way more clearance than Top Secret. Patreus isn't in the military any more, but who knows when this all started. I think the FBI has even said they have no evidence that there was anything wrong while he was general, nor is there proof that he passed any info to Broadwell. The main mistake the man has made was to sleep with a woman not his wife. Which, I don't care much about. Sleeping with a woman that's apparently Bat-poopy crazy? That's more worrying.
