  1. I'm sure he's run off with stories on how SS is a bunch of snobs who hate the Sabres. And he'd only be 50% right. :)
  2. One the first times I flew as a kid, I had a window seat and the pilot banked right over the Falls out my window on a bright, sunny day. Awesome.
  3. It's always a joy when I fly home and get a chance to see my house when we get close.
  4. I don't know which joke d4rk is making, that the President knows where to get a fake, or that releasing it would end all the questions, but either way great post! :)
  5. Yeah, I was mildly annoyed, but Gamecenter works on my Linux Laptop (GC is Adobe Flash-based), so it was just a matter of plugging it into the TV via HDMI, so no worries.
  6. More like this after the Sabres win 8-3. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ5ob9B9yD4
  7. Heh. At it's fitting when we're talking about the lower bowl at ACC. :) EDIT: meaning rich people, not any particular Ethno-religious group.
  8. And now I have "If I were a rich man" running thru my head, thanks.
  9. There's a couple European posters here, I think it works from them. I'll be wondering the same thing, going to be in Asia for a few weeks in March.
  10. I think they just divide up the country, and each team gets "exclusive" rights to each block. I'm actually surprised you're not in Philly territory, I'd think you're closer. Anyways, so on the East coast (and something like Buffalo-Toronto or Montreal-Ottawa), I think they essentially do it by state or the roughly half the distance between the stadiums. I'm wondering now if they bother to divide up the NYC market at all. The Rangers and Devils are maybe 10 miles apart, and the Isles will be less than that from MSG in Brooklyn). On the other hand, I'm sure parts of Colorado (for instance) are many hours from Denver, but are considered Avs territory.
  11. Good for you!
  12. Agreed. More than once I've see Stafford come pretty hard on the back check, and more often than that, finish checks. He won't be confused with Ott or Kaleta rattling the boards, but it's happening enough to notice. the big question is whether it's first few games or continutes. For the moment, he looks like a different player.
  13. PH might have, you know, a regular job that he has to work. :(
  14. Hmm, maybe I'll go with the Toronto feed. :-)
  15. On the PS3 app, yes, you can watch the game whenever you like. As someone mentioned downstream, all of last season is available and lots of other stuff in the vault from years back. I haven't used the smartphone app yet, but I'd guess it's the same.
  16. DOWNINGTOWN PA - Victory Brewing Company has thrown down the gauntlet to Genesee, with a new beer called "100 Horse Ale".
  17. Potatoes and Peas in Thai Red Curry. Took it to a party with a bunch of Flyers fans yesterday, leftovers today.
  18. I think they take samples right after the race/leg/whenever. The tests at the time didn't find anything, but the archived blood was retested last year (?) and found issues. LA finally admitted to it this week. (don't take this as gospel, just what I've pieced together not really paying attention that closely)
  19. I'm curious, if you were going to sign one of the bought-out players, would you try to do it long term? Psychology aside, signing Gomez for 5 years @ $1M/yr would be a coup if he plays well. If he doesn't, you send him to the AHL and only $100k-ish counts against the cap. The big question is whether he'd sign it. $4M is a lot to walk away from, but if it doesn't work out this year he'll only see $1M total.
  20. - Grigs doesn't make it past the try out, goes back to junior - McKee's funny/stupid tweet ratio improves, the Lannay stuff is gold - Miller plays 5 games more than he should - Drane will make some outlandish connections, one of which turn out to be right for a PHR of .0875 - I spend too much time here - The Sabres go on a run in March while I'm out of town and I don't know if I should start watching games again, fearing to jinx them - Sabres finish 6th in the East, squeak by the Northeast winners in 6, lose to the Atlantic winner in 7 - FES stay together other than injury for the majority of the games - Hecht chips in 9 goals
  21. I'm fired up to cook this weekend. Sweet potatoes and poblano au gratin, potatoes and peas in red curry, and Lousiana red bean soup. Also Fantastic: Wegmans has ham hocks in stock. now I just need to figure out what to do with the other 2 in the package of 3.
  22. Sorry to hear it.
  23. Decidedly less excited. I suspect people will think it's a video game.
  24. It's to be expected that with the short training camp there's going to be some sloppy posts (and not just from Liger) and bad facts on the board until everyone gets into game shape.
