Buffalo News: Darcy on possible changes: 'It won't be the coach'
MattPie replied to Two or less's topic in Archive
I can say with a level of certainty that Boston and Philly don't really care about Buffalo. Toronto would be the only one I can think of, but they're out buying Windex for their glass house. I'm sure the 5 rabid Canes fans are happy. -
I'd start giving out paper bags for people to wear on their heads with every ticket.

Anyone else think that the sabres are intentionally losing?

No. If they start shipping everyone out, that may be a sign. Not before that. -

I'm thinking I should bring home a growler of Victory, I'm going to need it to get thru this game. :) I'll have the game on most likely. My wife[0] is bringing a carload of her stuff today so I'll be unpacking and sorting at the same time. [0] yep, still sounds a little odd to say that Sweet, post-quoted! :) -
Let's face it, the Sabres mostly play like crap early, then go on a run in the 4th month of the season. I'd suspect we're in the same place as last year if you look at the charts. Hopefully this year they'll go on a run around the same time, but there will only be a week left in the season so it won't screw up their draft pick too much. This is the place I've gotten to. For the first time since Lockout I, I'm ready to give up.

Someone will give us something for Myers. I'd guess at the *very least* another struggling prospect (ideally signed to a shorter, cheaper contract) or high picks. I doubt we're really going to see more than a couple buy-outs come the off season. There must be GMs out there that are thinking the same thing that many of the folks here do: Ruff's system is ruining Myers, and a change of scenery will fix that.

I get what you're saying, but to think that anyone should be able to play with anyone might be optimistic. We talk about chemistry a lot with forward lines and whatnot, and how 26-19-29 just know where each other are going to be. Why would it be different with D? Should Vanek be just as good if Scott is on his other wing?

Isn't there a thread or post around here about how Rolston can't use two goaltenders properly? Oy vey!

Or living in Philly and never having Italian food, really. Lots of little places in South Philly and Old City.

He's casting a spell on you, brother's cousins (assuming the it's just a typo and not a different spell) would also be Harry's cousins. Did Harry's parents have any siblings?
-
Yeah, it looked like Myers was feeling it with the skating at least.

The PS3 app does keep the scores off, at least. I've found that you can kind fast forward using the D-pad to skip ahead a couple minutes at a time. But you'd have to do the math on where you should be (45min per period, 15 per intermission is my rule of thumb).

I was thinking about this the other day, but didn't figure Tallinder would be available. If he's only signed for another year or two, I'd say it's worth a shot. Although I didn't think Myers looked better paired with Pardy. Leopold and a prospect for Tallinder? How is NJ set for offensive-minded D?

Back for one post. Time to settle the score maybe.

I use naughty bits, lady parts, and wedding tackle as part of normal conversation. EDIT: In fact, from the Bills thread regarding Manti T'eo: -
I thought the same thing when I heard that clip. It's taken a long time and it wasn't just that quote, but Lindy has finally lost me. Maybe his system works with the right players, but Buffalo doesn't have those players and I don't want to watch the hockey that it creates. While I didn't watch all the game last night (Ottawa), I thought Myers was, to a certain degree, "feeling it". Maybe Pardy is the security blanket he needed, but he was skating well and showed a few flashes of that rookie season. He even put that awkward hit on #15 to make a play. We'll have to see if he can build on that, or if he'll get paired up with Leopold again and be a further disaster.

The new Gamecenter app on PS3 is an abomination. I'm really rather mad about it. None of the specific buttons on my PS3 remote work (play, pause, etc). If there's a way to fast forward, I don't know what it is. And worst of all, the time marker doesn't seem to advance on it's own. So if I'm behind watching a period, when I try to skip forward 15 minutes thru the intermission I have to guess where I was in the stream and add 15 minutes from there. The marker will be where I last moved it, likely the beginning of the previous period. The Web/PC version and Android version are tons better. I'm guessing they 'forgot' about it during the lockout or something, since I can't believe this was the final version they wanted. Last year's app was a ton better.

The other day I noted somewhere: there are people that can buy cigarettes and vote that weren't alive the last time the Bills won a playoff game.
-
Parros wins, it was fairly even, but Parros really stunned Scott with that last punch. I'm statrting to notice that if Scott is smiling at the end of the fight, I think he figures he lost that one. McCormick confused Strachan by switching to the left and landed more from the looks of it.

I don't get how "b o l locks" is 'bad', but "dogs b o l locks" is 'good'. -
Sekera is pretty reasonable, 2.5 * 4 years, I think? Hecht at 1*1 isn't bad.

Ah man, why would there have to be a homebrewing conference in my town with the last day on my birthday? Oh wait, that's AWESOME!

OK PP22, don't get bent out of shape. :) The point of the Myers contract was that when it was signed, it looked like he was going to be a force of nature. If you're going to pay for results, you'd be paying him $7m+ if he had continued on his trajectory. That's the gamble. You lock someone up early and hopefully that contract becomes a bargain. Sometimes you get burned (and I'm not saying Myers is in that category yet). I doubt anyone could build a team only paying players that have proven themselves; you'd have 6 F, 4 D, a goalie, and $10m left to fill out those remaining 8-10 spots. This is why GMs get the big bucks.
