I knew I should have read thru the post before responding, thanks Chz.

I remember a Canadien taking a slapper into the Buffalo bench at the end of a losing effort, but that was probably 15 years ago. I dunno, I think Schneider has earned a chance at the starting job. ;)

Gordie only had two, so I wouldn't be surprised.

I think that's a tough one. Ehrhoff is the only guy in there I'd consider a vet. While the others have been in the league a few years, I think a vet needs to see some success here and there so he knows what a good team looks like and how those leaders acted. I just can't see Myers (for example), at 22 (?) with 3 years under his belt being a vet.

Based on the number of people bitching about ticket price in the media, I'm sure that new owner is going to love the idea of hiking ticket prices as one of his/her first actions.

"So there's no debt in the business right now, but it's running at $4bjillion in the red each year. You're going to have to pay that out of your pocket or raise ticket prices to compensate. Whaddaya say, do we have a deal?"

Your non-apoplectic, not-tilting-at-windmills attitude isn't helping, sir. :) :)

The Sabres Hockey Hotline with... somebody or other?
MattPie replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
While I like the idea, No Movement Clauses and Waiver Eligibility make it a little tough. -
Kids these days don't respect who their musicians are ripping off. :) :) On second though, it's tough to respect anyone with that hair.

I'll go one better that they made two gambles: FES picking up where they left off, and Grigorenko setting the league alight. If either of those paid off, the Sabres would have been in the playoffs, I'd say 4-5 seed. Neither did, so it is what what saw.

19.70.11.39, here. Most large companies only have a few links to the outside world for general internet usage. That makes it easier for corporate IT to control usage and monitor intrusions and whatnot. If it's not that, the IP lookup link above is only showing you who owns that IP range. Your business ISP might be based there. There are better location services than whois, many that will locate you fairly close to where you are (town or zipcode). Google up "geolocation by ip" for some examples. This where "proxy servers" and "TOR" comes in if you watch crime shows. Instead of your computer connecting more-or-less directly to sabrespace.com and exposing your computer's IP, you use a proxy. Essentially, your computer connects to the proxy and asks it to go get sabrespace.com for you. SS.com only sees the proxy's address. TOR is world-wide network that does something similar.

I haven't price shopped in awhile. I think mine is $120/yr. That was a steal in 2008 when Voicewing and Vonage were $25/mo. :)

I have a voipo.com VOIP phone, which is way more expensive than others are claiming here. I've had it for a few years, my old girlfriend liked having a house phone. I've just reworked my cell phone, so it now has unlimited minutes so I'm ditching the voip phone. I do have a Google Voice number that rings both my cell and my home phone. The neat thing is you can set up Gvoice with any area code you like, so I have a local number in addition to my phone's native number, which I've had for over 10 years and 3 states.

A: if they didn't, the fans and their anointed crusaders at the Buffalo News would claim they were clueless about how bad the team was going to be. (Note "anointed crusaders" is dripping with sarcasm) B: Maybe they have their eye on a coach that isn't done coaching yet (NHL or AHL). In any case, our friends in the media flipped out last year when there wasn't a press conference, so they'd surely flip out again if there was a delay. They'd probably crib ideas from posters here that there's a vast conspiracy going on in the Sabres FO and scream bloody murder.

I'm guessing you're really close to the head of the waiting list? You've posted this several times already.

This was discussed in the other thread at length. Same result: one of the teams that just missed the playoffs probably wins it, so you end up giving the No 1 pick to the 10-14th-ish worst team, and most likely the 10-14th pick to the worst team. The point of just about every draft is to give bad teams shots at the best players.
-
Why break it into playoff and non-playoff? Just draft in the order that teams finish the season. Stanley Cup winner gets first pick, runner-up second, and so on. That'll really teach the tankers.

If I were working for the defence, I'd get bored with how many times I had to object for hearsay.

Oooh, can I be the judge? I have a new avater to match!

Come on, Mr Enroth is making some good points about his son. And his English is impeccable! :)

I think Maggie is overstating a bit. 4G is noticeably faster than 3G, but it's not as big a jump as she's making it out to be.

Many moons ago, I did exactly that with an AT&T phone. Got it, tried to make it work for awhile, but in the end returned it within 30 days (I didn't get service in my house or at my desk, where Verizon was fine). Fairly painless process. I only remember one that had T-mobile that I knew of. He moved on due to issues with signal in Philly. He was also a big blackberry guy, not sure if that applies to you. I'm using Verizon, two lines, two phones, 4GB data, $153/mo..

Shh, I'm still hanging on. (crosses fingers)
