Spent the morning cooking. I was going to try making some Thai Green Curry Lentils, but after I started I noticed the cap on the curry was popped. I had a jar of Briyani paste in the fridge, so a couple big spoonfuls later I have a few days worth of spicy Indian lentils. Next up, a slow-cooker Lentil Risotto recipe I've been meaning to try (it's a lentil kind of day). That turned out awesome, and only cooks for an hour or so in the oven (I make my slow-cooker recipes in a cast-iron pot in the oven). Topped with some parmesan cheese, super rich and hearty for a blustery day (for SE PA values of blustery).

Shanahan has announced the Sabres' right goal post has been suspended for 3 games. During the suspension, any puck that crosses the goal line to the right of the goalie will count as a goal. When asked for comment, Shanahan said, "it's not like we want them to win anyways, this will be easier.". Realistically, most of people that work for the NHL are former players or people that it's just a job. We fans have other areas of expertise and may see things that those folks don't. I'm not at all surprised that "fan-sourced" ideas often end up getting implemented (independently or via someone at the mothership seeing it) since they generally make sense.

There's a reason "If this is true" and "NY Post" end up in the same sentence a lot. :)

I haven't been tracking the website issues too closely, but I'll be surprised if they didn't do a staged roll out by states, timezones, SSN, or something. Even my company has "enrolment windows" where a only portion of employees can change our plan settings at any one time.

McCarthyism has been around forever at least since the mid-90s in Buffalo, Celtic-Rock kind of thing. A lot of fun. The metal band wasn't too band. 3 of the 4 of us were "trained" musicians (as in school bands and whatnot), and *heavily* influenced by Metallica. We got as far as playing a few shows around Buffalo in 96-97 as Defiant or Bottom Feeder, but it fell apart not long after. We never got our act together as far as signing and we weren't nearly grungy enough for the times. I'm contemplating selling my gear right now after moving all the amps around in the basement a couple weeks ago. They're just collecting dust. :(

Er... No family members (although I was in a short-lived metal band when metal was the most un-cool thing someone could play). I hung with McCarthyism at a wedding last weekend. Does any of that that count? :)

Maybe not prawns, but shrimp and using Old Bay mixed into the tomato sauce instead of traditional Italian spices isn't bad.
