  1. Not so much a complaint, as an "ewww": I walked into the men's room at work yesterday. There's two urinals and one on the right is occupied. Being a dude I barely register the person (although they were wearing khaki pants and mostly white sneakers). As I'm uncoiling the earthworm, out of the corner of my eye the guy next to me making erratic movements with his head (the publicly-acceptable one). Being that it's rude to stare and a men's room I didn't turn to look, but the movements made me think he had palsy or something. Anyway, he finishes, then I do, and as I'm turning around he's spitting in the sink and holding a toothbrush. I really have a hard time believing it, but he was taking a leak and brushing his teeth at the same time in public restroom.
  2. You could probably argue that he's not in the right mind to make that kind of decision, given the circumstances.
  3. What manner of cookies?
  4. Perhaps it's because we feel a little guilty watching a sport that may result in a crippling, life-long injury for entertainment. Especially when the solution is "don't be a dick and drill people into the boards".
  5. I'm fairly certain no one has suggested that. I don't think anyone is arguing that, I (at least) am arguing that there's hitting and then there's driving a player into the boards. If Wilson hits Schenn with 50% of the momentum he did, the result is the same[0] except Schenn isn't helped off the ice when he can't stand up. [0] mostly the same, Wilson might actually still be standing instead of flying into the boards himself and falling down.
  6. Agreed. There's other ways to stop a player from progressing with the puck that don't involve hitting him at full speed into the boards. He went in shoulder first with the aim to launch Schenn, and took himself out of the play in doing so. A better hockey play would have been a more controlled hit where he ends up with the puck (or at least still standing with a chance to play the puck).
  7. Did he put the ring on the wrong hand?
  8. I don't, necessarily, the Islanders might be even worse next year! :) My bad, read it too many times here.
  9. As I understand it, the Islanders have the option to use or defer the pick and have to tell the Sabres before two (three?) picks before during the draft. If the Islanders use the pick this year, the Sabres get the 2015 pick. So if the Islanders pick is #8, they have to tell the Sabres before #6 if they're deferring or not.
  10. Tahou is only the Anchor Bar of GPs, as I understand it. There are lots of other places, and a few versions. I've never had one, since half the stuff on it I don't want to eat (aversion to mayo and cold, starchy "salads").
  11. You a tea-bagger or loose? ;)
  12. That goes to Bettman, right? And he can adjust it (+ or -) or leave it alone?
  13. As I think I've mentioned before here, the NFL has sections on not punching people in their handbook and classes for players on how to deal with this stuff. I've heard there are role-playing examples in the classroom.
  14. That sounds like a pretty good idea! :) :)
  15. I'd see what #3 or #4 wants to give up for #2 (Eckblad).
  16. With Danny how much of that was being a small, skill player in the post-lockout1 NHL? I think the NHL changed, him not as much.
  17. Thread still open, fantastic! The first few flakes are starting to fall here in SE PA, and I love snow. There's talk about 4-8" here, which as you all know is not the same as 4-8" in Buffalo. I don't blame the towns not having a fleet of plows for the 2-3 times a year here that it snows. I do blame the PA drivers for having no clue how to drive in snow despite that it snows a few times each year.
  18. From here on out, this is Chz and Josie in my head.
  19. I'll be the voice of dissent: using a current player is in bad taste. Come July 1, maybe.
  20. I kinda knew that, but only barely. More surprising was our Thai guide in Thailand was confused when I asked about it, and when she figured out what we were talking about said that they have it, but it's much different there. I don't remember seeing sriracha anywhere, but there was always a container of chilies and garlic on the table everywhere we went (somewhat like the other Huy Fong sauce).
  21. I'll second that, there really seems to be something not ticking over right with Tim.
  22. Around the NHL AHL ECHL(?): Tim Connelly going full-recluse. http://www.syracuse.com/crunch/index.ssf/2013/12/tim_connolly.html If someone already posted, my apologies.
  23. I'm quite upset there isn't a fine wine appreciation thread. -Chet
  24. $200 on Ottawa. Gotta stay consistent. Edit: I'm at $260
