  1. I think the argument is that Regier should have kept Kassian, and traded another asset for someone similar to Hodgson. Big-G values power-forwards above almost everything else. I can't say that he doesn't have a point, but up to now Kassian isn't showing much more than bottom-6 winger (much like Foligno), so Hodgson is proving to be far more valuable to the team. I think it's a good trade as well, and I wish this thread would just die, die, die.
  2. This one goes out to the Panzermensch (Tank man): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmISCeqtJvw
  3. So am I. I like Callahan and all, but we can't just throw money around because there's room now. No one would be really upset at giving Callahan an extra $1-2M now, but once you add up a couple of those $1-2M extra contracts down the road we're in cap-hell and not able to sign or re-sign players we need.
  4. You really think John Scott doesn't take a 1yr/$5M deal if the Sabres are trying to hit the floor?
  5. When I was a kid, we had an even earlier version, it may have been my Dad's. Same metal player cut-outs, no batteries or lights, and the guides along the boards where metal and not plastic.
  6. I think I suggested this in another thread, but my "plan" would be to give a scrub a $6M/1 year deal each year until there's a better way to spend that money. No reason to commit for longer than a year, and it's not like Scott or Ellis or similar is going to turn down the deal because they want a longer deal.

    Superbowl!

I was thinking about throwing a small party at my house, but it's my anniversary this weekend so I never really got around to planning. I'd save "Pie's Preposterous Playoff Pirogi Party" for the hockey playoffs, but all the games are on cable so I can't get any of them on Gamecenter. As it stands, the Chinese New Year parade in Philly is Sunday, then dinner I'm guessing.
  8. Vanek jersey?
  9. That's quite the book, since it essentially says shoot everywhere.
  10. FWIW, Miller's currently at .926% for the season and .916% NHL career. Lundqvist is at .914% and .920% (#3 all time) respectively with very similar numbers for shots. I consider Henrik pretty-f'n-elite. That being said, the lifetime leaders that are ahead of Miller (he's #12) are all still playing, other than Hasek at #1 (.9223). http://www.hockey-reference.com/leaders/save_pct_career.html So, I don't think Miller is elite. I don't think many people here say that; I think people that say Miller is elite are not paying that much attention. He's also not something you just toss away because there's a ton of guys better around though.
  11. And people will be clamoring for Hackett (or new goalie coming back in trade).
  12. Exactly. Because every goalie has crappy nights and lets in crappy goals. Because we watch all the games, we see them, and if you're of a certain disposition, focus on those.
  13. Maids got it easy. Dry cleaners, however...
  14. I'd fantasy bet on this outcome. Put him on a line where he's expected to be the 3rd best player, and he might have enough room to work.
  15. @217, one unit ($140) on the Caps. EDITY: If it's always round up, I'm at @220 now.
  16. 160/280 == 57.1, so I'm at 217, ja?
  17. @160, all-in on the Pens.
  18. 2019: The NHL has awarded an expansion team to San Diego. The new team will be called the Suns because they play their entire 48-game home schedule in an outdoor arena. Yep, they do. NBCSN/NBC/NHL Network get priority over local broadcasts. Although I could have sworn one of the Flyers game down here was on Comcast sports and blacked out on NBCSN.
  19. Yep, me too.
  20. @mattpi (from twitter): @Spndnchz just bumped the Ryan Miller thread, something is afoot!
  21. Man, someone is using *my* posts in the Enroth thread for Twitter-fodder now.
  22. Nope, never heard it either. I prefer "all catawumpus" for that meaning.
  23. But he can go from one corner of the ice to the other very quickly!
