Yeah, it does happen. A former family member (ex-husband of a cousin) was a big Habs fan despite living in Hamilton. One a side note, he was rather small but a pretty good player. His claim to fame is he scored a break-away goal on Andy Moog at some point (juniors or something, I'd guess).

Agreed. I'd think the people complaining are the ones that like a ton of hitting, fighting, and 2-1 games. The Olympics are almost like an all-star game but the players care and play hard; that's some good stuff. I just wish I had some sort of DVR/cable to record the games.

My ex-girlfriend bought one of those, it was a really nice car and I enjoyed driving it (I like cars as a mild hobby, FWIW). The only complaint I had about it was the 16" rims/tires didn't feel very tight if you hit a bump in a corner. But that's a pretty mild criticism. Just teach her! :) I lucked out that my wife doesn't mind driving stick (oooh, errrr). It makes it a lot more reasonable to keep my Subaru WRX around. I've loved all my Subarus, I've owned 3 (and my wife had one before). Great cars, fantastic reliability, although my 2005 Outback (Buffalo car) hasn't dealt that well with the salt. My 2002 WRX never gave me any problems and so far my 2011 isn't either. The down-side is all but the newest models don't get great gas mileage, and being in NC you probably don't need AWD.

He's played really well, no doubt. Without looking around to see who else is this size, 5'11" 181 (as listed on the Sabres site) is awfully small for an NHL D-man. EDIT: http://www.nhl.com/ice/playerstats.htm?fetchKey=20142ALLDADALL&viewName=bios&sort=player.weight&pg=10 That's the last page of NHL D sorted by weight. McBain and Rudy on that list, there are a couple NHL regulars on there, so it's not out of the question. Essentially, if Rudy can add some offence he may find a place since he seems to play well enough in his own zone.

It's beneficial to the league to have some parity in the league, and a weighted lottery draft is the best way to do that. Do you think, say, Florida survives if they finish last 4 years in a row and keep getting crappy picks via some bad luck? -

So the last place team now as a 6.25% change of actually staying at the first pick. That's slightly less than the 7.1% chance if you just pick at random between the 14 teams that don't make the playoffs. -

Fun fact: Buffalo is 19th in Goal Against and last in Goals For. Edmonton is 18th in GF, and last in GA. -

Tank is looking a little beat up. -
Hmm, I'm at $320, I would have been really tempted to go all-in on one team if I had an extra tenner. $220 on Edmonton. #ThinkTank.

This Seahawks team will be pointed to for years when fans bitch about how their late-round picks aren't all-stars.

Facebook statuses of the night: "We've replaced the Broncos with the Washington Redskins without telling anyone, let's watch." "Since when do the Bills where orange uniforms?"

"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition

I'm mostly in agreement here, but that's only 1 season away. If you do actually want him, it would make sense to pick him up now right? as for money, I don't see him signing for less that $6M with the market being what it is. I'm OK with up to $7M I guess, but I hope he's OK with being a whipping boy at that price. -
I teared up when I traded my 2002 WRX in on my new car. I still miss it from time to time, it was more engaging to drive than this one.
-
I tend to agree. I just wanted to point out that when given the chance so far, Kassian has yet to show he'll be the playoff monster that DeLuca thinks he is.
-
Wasn't Kassian sitting half the time in the playoffs last year? EDIT: Oops, no. He played all four games, 0-0-0, -1, 4 PIM.

This is a better look. The problem is the hipsters would probably come over to talk to you. -
Let's give it to the Canes fans so they can eat it as war reparations.

I think the argument is that Regier should have kept Kassian, and traded another asset for someone similar to Hodgson. Big-G values power-forwards above almost everything else. I can't say that he doesn't have a point, but up to now Kassian isn't showing much more than bottom-6 winger (much like Foligno), so Hodgson is proving to be far more valuable to the team. I think it's a good trade as well, and I wish this thread would just die, die, die.

So am I. I like Callahan and all, but we can't just throw money around because there's room now. No one would be really upset at giving Callahan an extra $1-2M now, but once you add up a couple of those $1-2M extra contracts down the road we're in cap-hell and not able to sign or re-sign players we need. -

You really think John Scott doesn't take a 1yr/$5M deal if the Sabres are trying to hit the floor?
