  1. Same here, really. Most of the above I did before I had an Android phone (4+ years ago) and just keep moving them on each time I change phones. There was a awhile I had a bell-style too. One thing I tried and couldn't find was a good puck-off-the-post sound to use for the notification sound. Anyone got a good sample?
  2. Good call. Enroth seems to move a lot in the net, which when there's a rebound (not very rare) he often seems to be out of position. With more film, it looks to me like it'll be something teams start to pick up on. I think he's moving around a lot to cover the net because he's short. :)
  3. In management-speak, this is "putting people in a position to succeed". You give someone a task that's a challenge to attainable (winning in the AHL) and then give them a bigger challenge after that.
  4. I've had the same ringtones for years now. It's pretty rare that anyone calls me, so they're not really put into use much. I use the tool "Audacity" (on windows or Linux) to cut up MP3s, then upload them to my Android phone. there's a particular directory (that I can find if anyone needs it) on the phone that doesn't get scanned by the music player so you don't get snippets of songs in your shuffle. Anyways: General Ringtone: KMFDM - Megalomanic when the beat comes in, at 45s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwhOTNQcQq4 Wifey ringtone: 7 seconds of Love - Flip out like a Ninja (there's a story there), at 22s when the verson Drunk friend Chuk: 69 boyz - donkey. He used to get drunk and sing it, so he gets it. I should really assign one for my parents, since that pretty much covers everyone I talk to on the phone.
  5. You'd think Vanek would be used to playing on a team with very few NHL-caliber players.
  6. No cable. It seems like there was a lot of stuff on broadcast in 2012, maybe the time difference has something to do with it. I've been to Hunter once or twice, and I'll second that review. It's the place all the city folk go, so it's generally crowded. Windham is better. My favorite in the Catskills is Plattekill, though. It's a smaller place in terms of runs and lifts, but it's rarely crowded and there's enough to keep me busy. It's kind of "old school" though, with a basic lodge so it's not like the newer, fancy mountains. They do let you ski anywhere on the property though it you're into glades.
  7. On the plus side, I saw some game-worn Latvia jerseys on ebay yesterday from previous years for $132-ish. Maybe in a few weeks/months the real thing will be available.
  8. Awesome name for a law firm: Pond Lehocky http://www.pondlehocky.com/
  9. I think we have to remember that very few people outside Buffalo care about the Latvian team. Zemgus is the only current NHL player on the team.
  10. You know, I want to watch the Olympics. I really do. But every time I turn on NBC (broadcast), it's just their usual BS on. Access Hollywood? Bah. Even last weekend on Saturday afternoon I was planning on popping the TV on and watching world-class athletes, but all I saw was their usual Saturday crap.
  11. Apparently people were "stranded" on I40 as early as 3PM today. Hope everyone is home safe.
  12. So by that measure, Hasek was the, what, 8th best goalie in the league until 2002?
  13. Huh, it didn't seem warm and squishy to me this morning.
  14. I find this mind-boggling.
  15. As a kid, did you never squeeze two people on a sled to go faster?
  16. Luongo? Maybe DiPeitro too.
  17. I'd say, it's easier to move someone from center to wing than the other way around. And, you can't bet that we'll be last next year. It's likely, but this team needs a #1 center badly (at the very least to share with Hodgson), so you take that now. Elite centers aren't that common, you can't pass on your chance. If we end up with a better center next year in the draft, move someone to wing or trade this year's center for a wing.
  18. I'm guessing it's up to the discretion of the ref, and when it's two teams equally checking they let it slide. If it were USA just beating JPN down or something, you'd see more calls.
  19. This is one of the really cool (no pun intended) things about riding a motorcycle (when it's a little warmer). You be riding along in the evening and you'll dip into a little valley and it'll get noticeably cooler, and when you come back out it warms back up. It doesn't even have to be a big valley, just a little dip in the road.
  20. Power was out for me for only 36 hours last week from Wednesday to Thursday evening. Turns out what I though was a mostly decorative gas fireplace in my house managed to keep the house between 58 and 62 despite it being in the teens outside, score. I'm even more surprised that with the power out, the fireplace turned on with the switch; I'm guessing it has a little stored power in there or something. I didn't dare turn it off in case that was a one-time thing.
  21. Good luck with the storm, I'm hoping I just get snow over here. Car read 8 this morning.
  22. You know, there might even be laws about what tests an employer can ask an employee to undergo. Silly things like privacy and HIPAA regs.
  23. In Miller's case, no, because of his trade/contract status. But if it was another player I'd be OK with it. I suppose my answer might change if the Sabres were relevant this year, or in in hindsight the team was favored for the cup but spiralled due to the lost player.
  24. Are you old enough to remember the Sabres/Caps Game 2 debacle?
  25. I'll believe it when I see it, really.
