  1. In the apartments acrost (:)) from Pyramid mall?
  2. Now I know you're lying, what kind of Canadian doesn't get Timmy-Ho's donuts with found money?
  3. I'd bet real money (not my SS bux) that this got out because Twitspace/FacedIn/GooBook and not due to hard-nosed journalism. "Check it out, I'm partying with the Austria Hockey team!"
  4. USA Goalies always let in bad goals. ;)
  5. And Venezuela. http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2014/02/20/280019048/in-venezuela-another-beauty-queens-death-adds-to-anger?utm_content=socialflow&utm_campaign=nprfacebook&utm_source=npr&utm_medium=facebook
  6. There's not many times the Canadian version is cooler.
  7. http://i.nbcolympics.com/athletes/athlete=2478/bio/index.html "Injury woes Though he was expected to compete for the starting job at the 2006 Olympics, a broken thumb sidelined Miller in November 2005. He had begun the 2005-06 season as Buffalo's backup goalie, but quickly earned the top spot. Miller missed more than a month because of the thumb injury, and returned on the day the U.S. team was named, on Dec. 19. Though U.S. officials had made other plans by then, his play earned him the spot on the taxi squad." And this lists Miller as the alternate for 2006. http://proicehockey.about.com/od/international/a/us_olympic_team.htm
  8. Interesting if his game translates when he's not an adult-sized person playing kids. Or if he keeps growing; I was 6'2" when I was 14 and I'm 6'2" now 20+ years later.
  9. I suppose my next question is, "how many have 3 (or 5) seasons with 40 games?" I can see a team throwing a young 1st round pick in for a season or two since they were probably desperate for GT to begin with, but that pick not working out. Kind of like how the Bills manage QBs.
  10. Vermont maple syrup is better than Canadian maple syrup.
  11. That cannot be, Kristers Gudlevskis is 6'3"!
  12. Double thanks! I wonder why this particular feed works when all the other CBS Sports Radio stations (like 610 or whatever) still have Rome on. EDIT: and there's a Czech'N goal against just as I start listening. I'm cursed.
  13. To me, the simple math is we need a lot of help at forwards, and the more 1st round forwards you pick the more chance you hit on a few of them. BUt it's not that big a deal. If with the Sabres 3rd 1st round pick they take a GT it's OK, I guess, but it'll be interesting to see what skaters are picked shortly after that end up making it. I'm not talking about the 5th round Datsyuk, of course, since no one is betting on those guys.
  14. I'm guessing NBC has the rights to all online streaming so WGR can't stream over the internet even if they're broadcasting locally. I'll just chalk this up to another reason I'm just giving up on seeing any of the Olympics. FWIW, the Bills games on WGR are similar. You can't stream the Bills to a mobile device as far as I can tell. Laptops work fine though, making the restrictions doubly stupid.
  15. Anyone have an audio feed to listen to? Seems like WGR via tunein app is blacked out.
  16. No doubt, but it still just sounds silly, eh?
  17. Just spitballing, when you're the 3rd-best (or at least 2nd best) player on a line, you might get better looks when the D are focussed on the other two guys. Especially if the other guys can get you the puck.
  18. Probably moving Canada-Latvia to one of the hench-networks (MSNBC or something).
  19. And apparently being called a traitor in Canada (I kid you not).
  20. I see to miss a lot of calls and notifications if I do that. I don't feel the vibration and with where I keep my phone, I really wish I could. ;)
  21. "Masalskis has been strong all tournament, which is remarkable when you consider that the goaltender has barely played at all this season. The netminder spent parts of the previous five campaigns in the KHL, but he couldn’t secure a contract in Russia for 2013-14, in part due to his injury history." I dunno, guy can't hang in the KHL. I guess you could hope he stays healthy.
  22. That looks like a big pile of no correlation to me between #of shots and save percentage. However, there would probably be a correlation between # of shots and GAA and # of shots and SOs. If you're facing 20% more shots per game than the GT facing the least (which looks like about the right spread, 30 +-3), you're going to give up 20% more goals, all else being equal. That's why I see GAA and SO as far more team dependent that SV%.
  23. Yep, that sounds like it 100% kicks NBC's ass. On broadcast, we get the nightly "random assortment of sports in between watching figure skating" and I think some overnight stuff live (midnight to 5). You'd think they'd at least put stuff on all-day on the weekends, but it's just regular programming. And the streaming on the web requires that you sign in with your cable-provider account. I guess that's what you do when you're owned by a cable company. ###### Comcast.
  24. But her GAA is 1.0 for the game!
