  1. Well, that's interesting. #TankCentre
  2. Now we know which "game" is getting neglected.
  3. Mo Rentals, Mo Problems, as it were.
  4. The back brake on that particular machine is drum. The front is dual discs that don't completely release after you squeeze them.
  5. Heh, I said something like that awhile back, except it was Scott. I kinda want to see it happen just to see Mike Milbury's head explode. I'm sorry, but unless I'm mistaken McCabe and Austin haven't played an NHL game yet and McNabb didn't look like a shoe-in last time he was up. Of those, maybe 4 have a good shot at the NHL, the rest are unknown.
  6. Same here, although it's a motorcycle with a really dodgy front brake.
  7. At least the ensuing 5 on 3 when the other teams calls them on the size of the sticks will be well-defended.
  8. Thanks!
  9. You know, I wanted to read the article with an open mind, but starting with "If there were a trophy for worst owner in professional sports, Terry Pegula would have that thing locked down tighter than the Buffalo Sabres’ grip on last place in the NHL." I just can't do it. This certainly sounds ugly, but I'd be interested in hearing more. Two sides to every story and whatnot. Has anyone put forth the scenario where *Pegula* didn't want Miller/Ott traded and Murray/LaFontaine decided to any ways?
  10. I think a team can get away with one, maybe two players his size in the top-6. The problem the Sabres had for a long time is they had 3 or 4. Ennis, Roy, Gerbe, etc. Who am I missing?
  11. So what happened to the kid? I remember people screaming about how Darcy was incompetent that he didn't pick him up in a draft. (Also, 29 other GMs passed on him).
  12. I'm tempted to say, why not? The trade itself is a contract between two teams, not the player. True, the trade can't stop the player from doing whatever he wants, but it doesn't seem like there's much that couldn't be excluded from the contract between the two teams.
  13. No, he has an intern do it. "So what's up on SS, $intern?" "The usual people are complaining, the usual are defending, and GoDD is throwing out conspiracy stories." "How close are the theories?" "Eh, not as bad as some." "Ok, thanks. Moving on."
  14. I'm betting Halak is wishing he sprung for the pads with changeable color patches.
  15. I can accept Beiber when I think about how good the USA hockey team will be. For that matter, maybe Putin is trying to shore-up the Russian hockey team for 2018, what players are from Ukraine?
  16. I could see it if someone is having a bad night. "Man, every shot is 2 feet from where I want it to go, I'll just aim for the center and hope I catch a corner." Or conversely, they're aiming just inside the post and it goes two feet either way and it's either wide or dead center into the goalie.
  17. WGR has set aside the 11-noon slot Sunday after Shopp and Bulldog for Brian Kolziol to discuss 38's bender last night; there's hope that 38 will do a phone interview. For those thinking 11AM is early for a post-bender interview, remember 38 is on UK time so it'll be 4PM there. It's entirely possible that Pat after resigning/being fired/storming out texted his old boss "######, I just left my job at the Sabres." "Come back and work for me, bro, it'll save me the trouble of finding a new person."
  18. I had it on while reading a book. They're still cool and all, but the NHL has over-egged the pudding. It still ends up being a hockey game between two teams I don't care about, so I suppose it did it's job in that I probably wouldn't have had it on at all (I like hockey and all, but I rarely watch random games). That being said, this one was neat because you could watch the snow-trails of the puck as it moved around. Oh, and I dig the wire-camera as the main shot. I wouldn't mind seeing that more-overhead view it provides as a regular feature for indoor games.
  19. They're in a lot better shape than the Sabres.
  20. Why exactly would Jagr, a guy looking for that last kick or two at the Stanley Cup can, sign with the Sabres for any amount of money?
  21. I'm somewhat on the opposite side as you. I'm really surprised how little it bothers me that the team is terrible, and how not mad I am that Miller and Ott (and Vanek) are gone. I don't know if it's a change of perspective with being married and whatnot, or just all those years of watching the Bills has trained me for it. Years ago, I asked around here if people would rather have a competitive team year in, year out but never win it all, or a terrible team that led to a cup. I agreed more with the former at the time, but now I'm fine with the latter too.
  22. I'm hoping he's named captain ASAP!
  23. I wonder how this actually works with the NHLPA, CBA, cap, etc. Does he get a vote at the meetings now? Also, this happened in Toronto at some point, but I can't find the link. (EDIT: it was early this year, but I was actually thinking about an article about the guy in DC in 2008) Also: http://o.canada.com/...t-in-spotlight/
  24. Of course. Only Pegula regularly makes line-up calls over Nolan.
