I see to miss a lot of calls and notifications if I do that. I don't feel the vibration and with where I keep my phone, I really wish I could. ;)

"Masalskis has been strong all tournament, which is remarkable when you consider that the goaltender has barely played at all this season. The netminder spent parts of the previous five campaigns in the KHL, but he couldn’t secure a contract in Russia for 2013-14, in part due to his injury history." I dunno, guy can't hang in the KHL. I guess you could hope he stays healthy.

That looks like a big pile of no correlation to me between #of shots and save percentage. However, there would probably be a correlation between # of shots and GAA and # of shots and SOs. If you're facing 20% more shots per game than the GT facing the least (which looks like about the right spread, 30 +-3), you're going to give up 20% more goals, all else being equal. That's why I see GAA and SO as far more team dependent that SV%.

Yep, that sounds like it 100% kicks NBC's ass. On broadcast, we get the nightly "random assortment of sports in between watching figure skating" and I think some overnight stuff live (midnight to 5). You'd think they'd at least put stuff on all-day on the weekends, but it's just regular programming. And the streaming on the web requires that you sign in with your cable-provider account. I guess that's what you do when you're owned by a cable company. ###### Comcast.

But her GAA is 1.0 for the game!

Can we say it's *possible* that having a team of AHLers in front of him doesn't help with GAA and SOs? Someone with more time than I have today could look to see if points% (wins) correlates with SO and GAA.

Only some rec-level folks. Normal couple, engineer types. My guess is you get a higher representation of princesses, but there's bound to be a few that are chill people.

This is the one that on the initial discovery was thought somewhat likely to hit, right?

I'd almost argue that humans, having the intelligence to understand procreation, may well be the only exception to pure evolution. But more accurately we evolve in different ways, based on a person's likelihood to have the opportunity to spawn (socially inept need not apply) and desire to take advantage of it. Technology also has a hand in this, in that the weak survive more often now, either by medicine or not relying solely on themselves for food and protection.

Same here, really. Most of the above I did before I had an Android phone (4+ years ago) and just keep moving them on each time I change phones. There was a awhile I had a bell-style too. One thing I tried and couldn't find was a good puck-off-the-post sound to use for the notification sound. Anyone got a good sample?

Good call. Enroth seems to move a lot in the net, which when there's a rebound (not very rare) he often seems to be out of position. With more film, it looks to me like it'll be something teams start to pick up on. I think he's moving around a lot to cover the net because he's short. :)

"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition
MattPie replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
In management-speak, this is "putting people in a position to succeed". You give someone a task that's a challenge to attainable (winning in the AHL) and then give them a bigger challenge after that. -
I've had the same ringtones for years now. It's pretty rare that anyone calls me, so they're not really put into use much. I use the tool "Audacity" (on windows or Linux) to cut up MP3s, then upload them to my Android phone. there's a particular directory (that I can find if anyone needs it) on the phone that doesn't get scanned by the music player so you don't get snippets of songs in your shuffle. Anyways: General Ringtone: KMFDM - Megalomanic when the beat comes in, at 45s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwhOTNQcQq4 Wifey ringtone: 7 seconds of Love - Flip out like a Ninja (there's a story there), at 22s when the verson Drunk friend Chuk: 69 boyz - donkey. He used to get drunk and sing it, so he gets it. I should really assign one for my parents, since that pretty much covers everyone I talk to on the phone.

You'd think Vanek would be used to playing on a team with very few NHL-caliber players.

No cable. It seems like there was a lot of stuff on broadcast in 2012, maybe the time difference has something to do with it. I've been to Hunter once or twice, and I'll second that review. It's the place all the city folk go, so it's generally crowded. Windham is better. My favorite in the Catskills is Plattekill, though. It's a smaller place in terms of runs and lifts, but it's rarely crowded and there's enough to keep me busy. It's kind of "old school" though, with a basic lodge so it's not like the newer, fancy mountains. They do let you ski anywhere on the property though it you're into glades.

On the plus side, I saw some game-worn Latvia jerseys on ebay yesterday from previous years for $132-ish. Maybe in a few weeks/months the real thing will be available.

Awesome name for a law firm: Pond Lehocky http://www.pondlehocky.com/

I think we have to remember that very few people outside Buffalo care about the Latvian team. Zemgus is the only current NHL player on the team.

You know, I want to watch the Olympics. I really do. But every time I turn on NBC (broadcast), it's just their usual BS on. Access Hollywood? Bah. Even last weekend on Saturday afternoon I was planning on popping the TV on and watching world-class athletes, but all I saw was their usual Saturday crap.

Apparently people were "stranded" on I40 as early as 3PM today. Hope everyone is home safe.

So by that measure, Hasek was the, what, 8th best goalie in the league until 2002?

Huh, it didn't seem warm and squishy to me this morning.

I find this mind-boggling.

As a kid, did you never squeeze two people on a sled to go faster?

Luongo? Maybe DiPeitro too.
