  1. In Maryland, most of the local crab places had Soft-shell crab sandwiches when in seasons. Essentially, it's a whole crab, battered and deep fried on a bun. The crab itself is roughly the size of a burger patty, so it works. It's pretty good, but I usually get crab cake because there's more meat. So this probably belongs in the awesome thread, but: went to the Philly Flower Show over the weekend. now, I know what you're thinking, but it's interesting to walk around for a bit and it's good points with the wife. Two years ago, there was a "Man Cave" with a bar, recliners, and TVs (unfortunately playing college hoops). My buddy and I were kinda disappointed that there wasn't one this year, until we got to the "Wine Tasting" area. Free with admission to the show, there were probably 30 tables with samples. The thing is, I didn't have a drop of wine. About half of the tables had booze. Sure, you're only getting a little at a time, but it doesn't take many littles to make enough. Four roses, Lavauglin (Spelling!), Gentleman Jack, local Gin, Rye Vodka, Absinthe, and whiskeys, the works. I'll have to get my booklet out and make some notes on stuff to try again.
  2. Murray needs to contract the Fucillo Ad guys to make one for him? "Have a bad contract? Need cap space? We will buy your terrible players from you! No reasonable trade refused!" Essentially, OtherTeam trades useless player (ideally with one-two years left) and a nice pick/prospect for our lower-level pick. Other team gets help, we hit the floor, and maybe one of those players likes the change of scenery and we get a steal.
  3. I think Tallinder signs again to a short-term contract as a bridge. Scott too.
  4. Now he needs to lock up John Scott, and we're set.
  5. I'm not sure about that, it's not like we *have* to trade Stafford next year at the deadline, he might be an attractive piece in the offseason (if he continues playing well) for a team looking to make a run next year. This year, a good team doesn't want to disrupt too much. At the draft/summer, a good team may want Drew to replace an outgoing UFA. Plus, in the last year of his deal it's not as much of a risk.
  6. There's already another dedicated and being discussed in the free-for-all thread! :)
  7. According to someone at WGR, "The Hobby" is worth a couple hours of radio on Saturday mornings. :) Back when the Rehaume thing was current, I remember a friend of mine gushing over it. She was a rock-star Field Hockey goalie and played on some Buffalo club ice hockey teams, but I don't know if she got very far with it. Guess not, she's in the Air Force now. But this is pretty cool from her pictures:
  8. Well, that's interesting. #TankCentre
  9. Now we know which "game" is getting neglected.
  10. Mo Rentals, Mo Problems, as it were.
  11. The back brake on that particular machine is drum. The front is dual discs that don't completely release after you squeeze them.
  12. Heh, I said something like that awhile back, except it was Scott. I kinda want to see it happen just to see Mike Milbury's head explode. I'm sorry, but unless I'm mistaken McCabe and Austin haven't played an NHL game yet and McNabb didn't look like a shoe-in last time he was up. Of those, maybe 4 have a good shot at the NHL, the rest are unknown.
  13. Same here, although it's a motorcycle with a really dodgy front brake.
  14. At least the ensuing 5 on 3 when the other teams calls them on the size of the sticks will be well-defended.
  15. Thanks!
  16. You know, I wanted to read the article with an open mind, but starting with "If there were a trophy for worst owner in professional sports, Terry Pegula would have that thing locked down tighter than the Buffalo Sabres’ grip on last place in the NHL." I just can't do it. This certainly sounds ugly, but I'd be interested in hearing more. Two sides to every story and whatnot. Has anyone put forth the scenario where *Pegula* didn't want Miller/Ott traded and Murray/LaFontaine decided to any ways?
  17. I think a team can get away with one, maybe two players his size in the top-6. The problem the Sabres had for a long time is they had 3 or 4. Ennis, Roy, Gerbe, etc. Who am I missing?
  18. So what happened to the kid? I remember people screaming about how Darcy was incompetent that he didn't pick him up in a draft. (Also, 29 other GMs passed on him).
  19. I'm tempted to say, why not? The trade itself is a contract between two teams, not the player. True, the trade can't stop the player from doing whatever he wants, but it doesn't seem like there's much that couldn't be excluded from the contract between the two teams.
  20. No, he has an intern do it. "So what's up on SS, $intern?" "The usual people are complaining, the usual are defending, and GoDD is throwing out conspiracy stories." "How close are the theories?" "Eh, not as bad as some." "Ok, thanks. Moving on."
  21. I'm betting Halak is wishing he sprung for the pads with changeable color patches.
  22. I can accept Beiber when I think about how good the USA hockey team will be. For that matter, maybe Putin is trying to shore-up the Russian hockey team for 2018, what players are from Ukraine?
  23. I could see it if someone is having a bad night. "Man, every shot is 2 feet from where I want it to go, I'll just aim for the center and hope I catch a corner." Or conversely, they're aiming just inside the post and it goes two feet either way and it's either wide or dead center into the goalie.
