That's fair, although I'll probably just go with the ones I have now unless I upgrade the whole thing. At the time, they weren't really fancy, but they are heat-formed to my really strangely shaped feet. Still uncomfortable and painful, but less than the awful rear-entry boots I had before that.

Nice, my skis from like 2000-ish were just on the head of the trend where they were getting shorter (187s for my 6'2" self) and more hour-glass shaped. I went over to the Greek Peak ski swap this year hunting for said XC skis (few and far between there) and the skis are all round and stubby now. 🙂

On a related note, have there been huge safety upgrades for skis in the last, say, 20 years? 🙂 I'm going to take mine down to checked out and whatnot, but if there are huge benefits I'll probably buy another set if this sticks. Don't care about performance at this point, I'm sure new carbon fiber or whatever skis are amazing.

MsPie has tried downhill a few times in the past and has hated it every time. It's not at all part of the plan, lol. To be honest, I'm not sure RosePie will take to it as she's pretty timid about speed too. We have a little toy snowboard that she does like, but just on the not-really-a-hill lump in the yard. It's possible she'll surprise me and like bigger hills. Better question is how much I want to, restarting skiing in my 40s will be tough.

Renting for a year to find out if it'll stick might be a good plan. 🙂 I plan to ski this year after a... 12 year hiatus? I'm not entirely sure it's a good idea, but I skied a ton in a past and am in better shape than I have been in years. I live 20 minutes from Greek Peak so it's easy to sneak over there on odd days, like a Wednesday night. The plan is to get the family on XC skis this year and RosePie on downhill in a couple. She's not a natural risk taker so a little older that she can be taught seems like the plan.

Same, right around the same time. For me, at least, it wasn't too bad after the first day or two. I'll be honest, the number of Chrysler "my transmission had to be replaced at 60k" stories has soured me on ever buying anything from them.

Former Rigas house for sale in Coudersport

Guilty (although I dislike their finishes and quality). We looked at this house earlier this year, but it rapidly exceeded our budget. -
Who is getting the Sabres first 5 minute major this year?
MattPie replied to SHAAAUGHT!!!'s topic in The Aud Club
There are currently 3 teams with 0 fights and 4 more with 1. This isn't a huge deal. The teams at the top generally aren't at the top of the standings. https://www.hockeyfights.com/leaders/teams -

Right, and wrong. 🙂 -
JAG is a guy that's relatively easy to replace at the same level. So in this case we might just have a difference of the value of these guys to the team. All I'm saying is that there were probably dozens of guys in the league those years that if you swapped them out, the results would be almost exactly the same. I'm not saying any player, but plenty that put in the same spot would have performed as well.

They were both JAGs, one got lucky to be drafted by the Oilers and the other by the Islanders. By that point in the draft, three teams weren't even bothering to pick any more. In the 1st round 18 teams, by the 10th only 15 were picking, and after that fewer and fewer per round until Washington, NYR, and NYI were the only teams picking in rounds 16-25. Let's not pretend either of those two were anything other than a lucky break. Kind of like Olofssssson for the recent Sabres.

GDT: Coyotes @ Sabres 8 November 2022, 7 PM MSG-B, BSAZ
MattPie replied to SABRES 0311's topic in The Aud Club
To be honest, 1 team per year is 6.25%, so it's probably enough that it's a questionable measuring stick. I don't think 0.600 points has ever missed, but it's not as easy to look at a record and figure out. -
+1. when your O-line has the advantage of the D being spread all over the field trying to defend passing, a QB that'll run around almost anyone, and the occasional run, they'll look a lot better than one that needs to rely on inside runs and a stable QB pocket.

I thought We've has been a solid poster, I'd hardly call his contract an albatross.

That's such an interesting edge case. There may be "game worn" (I guess) 00 Gotaheads around, but never saw actual game action.

That's good catch. He played 3 games in 95-96 (Before GH), and then not again until 98-99 after the number rules were put in place. Also, stumbled onto about Kevyn Adams:

The Eichel 2022-23 Thread: "I'm not bitter -- I'm just interested."

It's almost like some of the thread is bitter. -

Any truth that they're dragging some snowmakers from KB to blow on the visitor bench when Miami shows up?
