  1. My wife is right, she's always telling me this place is like a smaller version of Facebook.
  2. No need to go that far, there's a Jellystone just past Java on 78. http://www.wnyjellystone.com/
  3. A friend who lives there reports there are a bunch of good breweries in Missoula. That's reason enough for me.
  4. I'm just picking a few things up that I didn't see discussed, most were already addresses by the high-quality posters here on SS. But in this case, CA-shooter (I refuse to learn his name, this was an act to get attention and I won't give it) legally owned all the weapons used. I don't think he actually did anything illegal until he started stabbing and shooting people. I realize this is the worst-case scenario for the NRA, a legal gun owner that starts blasting away. Can the NRA admit now that some people shouldn't own guys? The devil is in the details, but I think it benefits society for there to be a mechanism to "relieve" people of their guns if they exhibit some behaviors. I know the NRA would flip out (and partly rightly so) about tyranny, but when someone starts going off the deep end something should be done. Unfortunately, this is where registering guns comes in too. It's a ###### problem, but "crazy" people aren't going to self-regulate like the NRA folks think they will. How many of those people who go out and arm themselves are really going to spend the time and money to learn how to properly handle a gun? I'm sure Sorority Girl will be spending her afternoon at the range once a month to refresh her skills and keep in practice. She'd be just as likely to miss too. I've seen how much effort people put into the craft of driving a car, and frankly that level of effort in learning to shoot a gun is terrifying. Again, it's a ###### problem because frankly the public is too distract to do things the "right" way, so we need to determine what is more dangerous to the "rest" of us. But they left the Bill of Rights open to being Amended just like the rest of the Constitution. If they never wanted those amendments changed, why didn't they specify them as immutable or something? We've already declared one Amendment null and void (Prohibition), why are these special?
  5. Don't worry, they'll slowly reduce the size of the $1.49 bag until it's down to the .99 bag size. Speaking of Salt and Vinegar, my sister-in-law loves them and claims Herr's (based in SE PA) has the best she's had, to the point of requesting we bring them up when we visit. If you see them, try them!
  6. Neat! You can't get this kind of analysis anywhere else!
  7. My wife and I were talking about it yesterday, and decided that Health Care works are amazing since there's no way either of us could do it.
  8. Not all of them, keeping looking for a good one.
  9. That does sound like a cool trip.
  10. Sorry, that's BS. :) Kelly Drive and/or MLK Drive in Philly are closed on a fairly regular basis for events but they're very useful roads otherwise. West Side Highway in Manhattan is regularly closed for various runs and walks too. Not that I'm equating the usefulness of those three roads and the Skyway, mind you!
  11. Rolston Centipede at 4:40 or so!
  12. You're not listening to the right music of today. It's a terrible song, but...
  13. Shiva plays goal. I think her only soft spot is the 11-hole, between the 2nd and 3rd arms on the left.
  14. Beat me too it, damn. That was in 2002, I assume the other years too.
  15. In other news, the South will rise again.
  16. Ah, just curious what type. Someone should take you for a proper twitsty ride, like on a BMW. :) I have a friend with a Black Shadow, it's just so pretty and kinda crazy that it'll still hang being made 60+ years ago. Enfields are cool too. If you were looking for something to learn on, check out the Suzuki TU250X, it's like a little Enfield. Like this: http://chautauqua.cr...4424507272.html (bike people are like married people, we're always trying to recruit) Did a fair bit of it yesterday, from Little Switzerland (MP 335) to MP 0 at the North end. I've ridden the entire thing (I think) at one time or another. It was *cold* though, probably low 40s or even high 30s up there until mid-day.
  17. Flying is a great analogy. I just spent 9 days "flying" around the mountains of Western NC (and SC, WV, VA, MD, DC, and PA) and there's nothing like a motorcycle on twisty (and hopefully hilly) road. What type of bike?
  18. While that would be great, the smartest place would probably be somewhere just west of Batavia (as much as I hate to admit it) off the thruway. Rochester area is pretty close to Buffalo in population and it might draw in some more $$ from corporate types. $$ are the only way to secure the future of the team in the area. Maybe they can run a fast ferry to Olcott Beach for all those rabid Toronto-based Bills fans, too!
  19. I haven't done it in awhile, but for awhile I was in the habit of marking down drinks on my hand with a pen. For me, it's a lot easier to appreciate the number of drinks I've had if I can see it. My wife both have trouble stopping after a number of drinks. For her it's around two, for me it's 3 or 4 depending. I've gotten better about it (and she has been for awhile), but I still fall apart once in awhile. Luckily, the very worst it gets for me is being handsy, not violent. Most people can't tell I'm drunk, I'm just quiet and mellow.
  20. Leaving on a 9-day bike trip tomorrow. Don't see many (any) more of those in the next 15 years.
  21. I was trying to remember the other "game" burger I had, and it was camel. Quite good.
  22. When I lived there, it was: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B.C._Icemen
  23. They're not, they're rooting for (in that case) Binghamton. :) I guess the parallel is how many Sabres fans rooted for Rochester for the few years they weren't affiliated?
  24. People who leave recipe reviews like this: "These are delicious! I also use Liquid Aminos instead of soy sauce. I left out the carrot & doubled the zuchinni, used fresh gluten-free bread crumbs instead of the quinoa (ground up the ends of some Udi's whole wheat bread in my magic bullet), left out the thyme, doubled the oregano, and used half a pouch of dry Italian Dressing mix to give it extra flavor :)" Gee, thanks, you've changed half of the ingredients and all the spice ratios, and somehow this still applies to the original recipe.
