  1. It's a joke regarding the very liberal reading of TM's comments about his uncle's cancer.
  2. Nah, that's a blessing. NFL: The Bills might be able to beat the Pat's 2nd and 3rd string, we'll give them the last game so there's a chance NE will rest people. Since 2010 at Pats 2/4, at Jets 1/4, host Jets 1/4. 2011 They were at Pats in week 16 before hosting the Jets in week 17. that's a more logical answer. :)
  3. I can't fight this feeling any more.
  4. Frittered away a game in the final 5 minutes of regulation, and couldn't seal the deal in OT. And that shootout, you have to wonder about this team's dedication.
  5. Heh. Or the 2/3 of French Connection day.
  6. Thank you for the short-version of the Mormon concept of God, it's very interesting. After rolling it around in my head for awhile, I have (probably the big) question: are there a finite number of natural laws, and if we as humans learn all of them (and how to manipulate matter according to each), do we become gods ourselves?
  7. Now that I think of it, it wasn't the average, but 7-9 +- 1 win covered (I think) 14 of the last 17 seasons. The post is in this thread somewhere, but I'm not going to look it up. 6-10 +-1 covered 13 of the last 17, if I remember right.
  8. The only thing that makes sense is the time as humans perceive it (a straightforward progression) just isn't the only way it works. Otherwise you're right, there's no way there can be a beginning.
  9. I took that class from that professor, I can't think of his name though (something with an 'S'). The rough part for me was due to my slightly odd path through EE, I was taking it in my last semester of school and the job I had waiting for me kinda required I have a degree. I was really worried about passing it (got a C). I think this fits here:
  10. Come on, I'm not yet 40 and I worked at AM&A's. Now, Twin Fair... I did the math at some point and the Bills average closer to 7-9 than 6-10 over the "futility era". They still have a shot at keeping that average.
  11. I like the binary date, but why all the 0-padding on the year? And, can we use epoch time for the next game? Today's game is at 1417566600, Thursday's is at 1417739400.
  12. Yay, it's a Thanksgiving miracle!
  13. There's stuffing without sausage? I tried out two new things this year. I made some pumpkin soup (pumpkin, onion (barely noticable), rosemary, sage, thyme, cinnamon, etc.) which I didn't think worked on Wednesday, but got better overnight and went over well at in-law dinner. Score! I also made what would best be described as "vegetarian thanksgiving meatloaf". Now before you run for the hills, it turned out as something with the consistency of meatloaf but tastes like stuffing. That's pretty awesome and my vegetarian wife loved it.
  14. I've never really seen Episodes 2 and 3. I had 2 (I think) on one night while I was cooking; I was only paying half attention and it still annoyed me. There's 10 minutes of Anakin flying around in a speeder with Obi-wan (if I remember right) with him quipping while flying. No other story, didn't seem to relate to the plot, just commuting to the next plot-location making stupid comments every 30 seconds. I turned if off at that point.
  15. So how come we're not resurrecting the old thread. I kinda of like the idea of a thread that unlocks one day per year.
  16. We're (hopefully) going to have some hard decisions to make in a couple years.
  17. It wouldn't surprise me, that's how the Olympics worked.
  18. I was thinking the same thing. Yes, yes, goaltending is at the head of Edmonton's issues.
  19. My wife's grandfather died a couple weeks ago doing exactly that, and to my knowledge no one has indicted autumn (or Autumn) for it.
  20. Are we talking about condensed as in the 1.5 hour no-commercials-no-intermissions but-all-the-play or the 10-11 minute extended highlights? On my PS3, the "replay" (as they refer to the 1.5 hour version) is available for both feeds, but the "condensed" is only one version (usually home team, I think). I'm surprised the Apple TV would be better than a computer given the difference in capability. I haven't really used my computer attached to the big TV for NHL, I'll have to try it one of these days to see if my configuration matches your observations.
  21. The reporter is going to be really disappointed at the lack of pillaging and baby-eating. I had something similar happen on I95 once. I was on my bike and pulled over just after the toll booth to put on an extra layer. A cop pulls up and asks how long I was going to be, and told me to hurry up. They were working on something and had both directions closed for 15 minutes at a time. I got moving and had all of 95 to myself for about 10 miles. Surreal is the right word.
  22. Man, that guy.
  23. I've driven through that area a lot in the last 15 years as it's on the way "home" to East Aurora. I'm a person who likes taking different routes to places so I've hit most of the big roads out there at one point or another. I like maps, it's just the way I'm wired.
  24. People are stupid, impatient, and greedy. The parents could have simply been happy with the money they were apparently going to share in (which is plenty for anyone to live comfortably off) but they had to have more money and now. I'm surprised they didn't go to J. G. Wentworth.
  25. Might as well make it part of week 18, neither team will have anything else going on.
