d4rk, make sure the fax machine doesn't break before the 20000th post on NYE.

You're still behind then! :)

Gutting is a pretty perjorative term. What if "gutting" is just getting rid of players he doesn't see as part of the solution. Let's say GMTM doesn't think Ennis is big enough to have a spot on the team long term. If he gets an offer for a player (or near-NHL prospect) that he thinks will be a solid contributor, should he not make the trade, appearances and wins this season be damned?

From the one article I read, it sounds like Diamo Riga (the Latvian KHL team) doesn't use Rubles, so it's fine. I don't know if there are many Latvian players on other KHL teams though.

Keep your stats, I've watched him post and I think the kid's got it in him.

I'd say in general, 4 (?) #1 overall picks trumps a batch of later 1sts and 2nds. That assumes the rest of the organization is competent though. Now that I think of it, there's probably an odd effect to all those #1s, as someone else mentioned they're all similar players and therefore a bad mix. Edmonton could certainly be criticized for bad decisions elsewhere, but having so many #1s kind of forces your hand. No one trades out of the first pick, and the first pick is often "that" kind of player. The bold move would be for Edmonton to have traded out and picked up pieces along with not being locked into picking the skilled forward. But that's a tough sell too, since no matter what you'd be criticized that "how could they have passed on THIS_YEARS_BPA".

I think it's a little strong. It's more like working out or running. You do something unpleasant for awhile because you hope the end result will make you better than you were before. That plan is working really well for Edmonton this last 5 years.

If you're running out of time, my shipment can wait until after the new year. Thanks!

There isn't, other than time/money and provocation.

I think Heisenberg now qualifies. Since we've (but not weave) observed it, we'll never know if he would have hit the mark naturally. Special bonus tabloid headline section: - Is d4rk the Hardest Working Man in Hockey (commentary)? - But won't anyone Think of the Josie?!!? - d4rk romantically linked to Bruin fan, Pegula - "I had d4rk's alien baby."

That article is a little too gleeful to be purely about hockey.

You're probably right. I had something similar at a local Brazillian Steak-house / beer bar combo place: GORETT'S ORIGINAL SIN Brioche bread, beef, chorizo, ham, Gouda, in beer gravy topped with egg I was good but too much to eat at once. I took half home.

I have no legitimate reason to make this, but I want to. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/12/06/post_pub_nosh_francesinha/

I don't think EICHEL! has the same import as the past few candidates you've been shouting about.

You'd think so, but few companies would completely air-gap any network from their external-facing network or the internet. The type of threat we're talking about here isn't (generally) hacking web sites or mail. The mode of operation is you infect employee computers with malware that creates a channel back to somewhere else. The attacker then uses that channel to spread out across the rest of the employee network. Odds are the movie storage system is managed from those employee computers, and given time they'll find it. Companies don't air-gap because it's a PITA, you either need two systems on people's desks or they have to get up from their desk and go to the special room that has computers on the other network.

You got me, I thought Manning was next. Although, bolded: making the playoffs once in 6 years *would* be a hot hand for Buffalo.

Remind me again who Denver brought in to replace him? I can't think of his name, but he couldn't possibly have anything to do with Denver's current winning ways, right?

People are taking this Carrion thing too seriously. Oh, *that* CHL.

That's kooo-ba, not Cue-ba, silly!

I made Oatmeal Scotchies over the weekend too, they're my wife's favorite so I earned myself some points. I was hoping to make more this year with the new mixer I got as an early gift, but life is getting in the way. I'm still hoping to make some shortbread and if I get time, more mexican/italian wedding cakes. That's offensive, mostly because I now want one too. It'll have to wait though, I have a ton of carnitas that I made awhile back defrosting in the fridge which I have to eat up before I go to Buffalo.

I watched the first season on Netflix, and I burnt out on it pretty quickly, but it's not really my genre. By the end of the season, I'd get up in the middle of the show and make food in the kitchen, check web/email/IM, etc. I haven't kicked on the the second season, I'll probably just binge through that while I work from home at some point.
