Oooh, Oooh, who was logged in at the time! :)

Or even receiving passes on your forehand.

I agree, that'd be fantastic. If they wanted to draw it into a 30-minute show, talk about the teams that get eliminated before drawing the next ball. "Oh, New Jersey is out: NJ is looking to improve RW this year with the departure of Jagr and ...."

Three people are using a 6-sided die to select who wins something. They declare that all the even numbers are invalid, and each gets a one odd number (1, 3, 5). If an even number comes up, re-roll. Each person has a 33.33..% chance of winning, despite owning only 16.67..% of the numbers. You'd be right if the draw stopped after the first try, but since it redraws in the case of an invalid number, the percentages are all same as if there wasn't an invalid number.

But in NHL15 you can do it and it only reduces the players stat matrix by 1 point each!

Interesting, based on his Twitter feed I'm shocked that he could write something as intelligent as the article (and I'm not saying that article was intelligent in the first place). It's tenuous, but it's one of only 10 accounts that retweeted the article. And 3 hours later, he tweeted: It appears that my article predictably riled up a bunch of into acting like , proving my point.

I just think trucks like that scream "I wasn't held enough as a baby." Loud motorcycles fall into the same category.

Booo!

Nick, Lucic, and Kane are all Left wings (as is Foligno, for that matter). Like LGR said upthread, if Lucic was a RW, the idea might get more consideration. Chris Stewart, being a RW, should get some.

I think provider is a key word there. I'd watch a lot more playoff hockey if I could see it on gamecenter. Without a TV provider, at best I'll turn on some of the NBC games if I'm around the house at the time. Once the playoffs become relevant to the Sabres, I'll probably go with a proxy service. The NHL playoffs aren't worth $100/month (if that even gets me the right cable package). 0xB: send me the semi-legal site in PM if you don't mind, I'd like to give it a look. Preach it brother. Maybe if I get time later, I'll unleash my real complaint for the day.

Para 1: To me the civilized thing to do is reply to the attack with facts, and not attack back. It's the choice between bystanders thinking the "other" poster is a jerk and thinking you're both jerks. Para 2: That's fair. I wonder how much of Nolan's issue with CH is the quality of his play vs. the style of his play. Let's take this to an extreme: without comparing him to CH, what would Nolan do with Ovechkin? Bench him for floating or look the other way? Para 3: The coach's job in that situation is to do what's best for the team in the short (er, middle maybe) and long term. It's not like we're talking about Lundquist vs. Hackett here, we're talking career backup vs. career backup. In the grand scheme of things I don't think Hackett will be a big loss, but in a season winding down with nothing to play for, I don't see the issue with putting the guy in to preserve his contract.

To be honest, it sounds like half the failed dot-coms during the boom (the first one, that is). Whee, we're making money! Wait, what happened? I wouldn't be so bold as to say get out while you can, but...

To be fair, it was bought with company funds. But yeah, suck it up and buy your kid a copy or overnight a new copy to the office.

I don't know how you get to that point as a band.

That's odd, I used the phrase a week or so in an email. It's not something I use often. Or more than a handful of times in my career.

Hmmmm..... Also: Ask those same Kings fans if they're still upset their team finished 3rd-to last in 2006-7.

What if Eichel Decides to Return to BU Next Year?
MattPie replied to Dave Dryden's topic in The Aud Club
Exactly. Let's say the insurance company offers $20M career-ending injury insurance for $1M (I'd think that at least 20 players would take that, so even if one guy is injured the insurance company is making a profit). So Eichel calls them up and says: yes, I'd like some of that insurance but I can't pay for it right now. The insurance company can easily say, "sure, that $1M will be charged 5% APR until you pay off the balance". Now, there's only really three ways it van go. Jack gets hurt, and the insurance company pays out. Maybe they just dock the $1M off the top and they go on their merry way. He doesn't get hurt, and the insurance company gets $1M+interest for doing nothing (other than assume the risk) when Jack can pay up. The primary risk is if Eichel flames out and can't pay. But that's not even "that" bad, since the insurance company hasn't actually paid anything out. They'd just have to sue him or work out a payment plan based on his normal-job salary. -

Glad I could brighten you day.

That may well be true, even if he was the leading scorer last year. I just don't think you can make that decision based on seeing how he plays with Matt Ellis on the 4th line. If I remember right, if CH gets bought out this year, the cap hit is 1/3 of the contract, whereas next year it's 2/3. It would seem like an easier decision if CH had sank (or swam) on the 2nd line for the last two months.

Complaint: that's way too early.

I'm not sure you've heard of it either. I'm not trying to antogonize you, but civilized dialogue generally doesn't allow calling people that don't agree with you children or sheep. As for the point, my eye-opening moment on Nolan was indeed the trade deadline; maybe that's why the "tide turned". After it, I figured we'd see players (I'm thinking of Hodgson specifically) given another shot on the upper lines where they "should" be playing now that a few of the vets had been shipped out. Instead, Nolan just found new AHL vets to put on those lines. I'm not trying to defend Le Coney Hotdog, but every once in awhile it seems like you need to put him in a position to succeed to see if he's gotten it yet. The fear is Nolan would nail McEichel to the 4th line if he has a few bad shifts. Maybe you do that a few times to send a message, but at some point you have to put the player in the right place and let them either work through it or sink. EDIT: Oh, and the Hackett eligibility situation: maybe Murray had said don't worry about it or maybe he wanted to see more of Lindback, but it seems foolish to keep playing Lindback and lose out on Hackett's rights for no particular reason. If nothing else, maybe you get a (very) late pick for Hackett or add him to a trade that's bringing a goaltender back.
