  1. That thread was my inspiration, my muse, my raison d'etre
  2. This is ridiculous. We grazorista are a highly integrated hive mind that only parrot what the shadowy leaders tell us. To think that we individually came to similar conclusions based on evidence is willfully ignorant of reality. EDIT: Notice: we're on to you, or so Benevolent Shadowy Leader (BSL) tells us. Watch your back.
  3. North Buffalo's seething hate for TM.
  4. Sad thing is I hate that song, it's too depressing.
  5. Do they open it up eventually? Carolina did the same thing in 2006, but after a few days I could buy tickets (for something like $75 each for "oranges" on the blue line) even with my PA address.
  6. What about his edges?
  7. Any variation of "What would it take to trade into/out of pick #1/#2".
  8. Unless I read the ratings numbers wrong: What's bigger: 1.17% of the 1.1M (maybe 2 if you include Rochester) people the Buffalo market, or 1.00% of the 4.5M people in Boston Metro (and that doesn't include the rest of the people in New England). It's great that Buffalo loves hockey, but the NHL is interested in eyeballs, not market share. If you believe the conspiracy nonsense in the first place.
  9. It is an interesting question. Do you have a rather talented Centre on the 4th line, or do you trade that player for something else you need and continue with a McCormick-compatible player in that slot. The best reason for keeping a talent on the 4th line is depth to move up when the injuries happen.
  10. I'll just leave this here in case you missed it.
  11. How come you didn't list McCormick?
  12. I read somewhere that some/many GTs have pre-emptive surgery on their hips, could this be that (or "they're starting to bother me so might as well get it over with"). This is from 2011 and only mentions the surgery in passing towards the end: http://ingoalmag.com/news/butterfly-and-hip-injuries-backstrom-back-to-surgeon/
  13. What's your reason for thinking this? It doesn't seem like anyone has said this. There's a whole host of reasons you fire a coach (dejennerett provided a very nice post), only one of which is "the team finished 30th".
  14. Man, this seems hard, especially without a cheat sheet for who shoots which way.
  15. I-talics: I think that's a stretch. The last guys in the first are 40% to play 200 games. The first guy in the third is around 17%. That's a significant difference. But you're right that the general public seems to have an inflated idea of picks. It bears saying the prospects playing in the AHL odds are aren't going to make it. So when people say, "Oh, we have Compher, Bailey, Grigorenko, McCabe, etc." that odds are half of those guys aren't going to cut it in the NHL. By the numbers, it looks like you're doing OK if your first round pick plays (anywhere on the roster) and you get 1-2 players each year out of all the other rounds.
  16. If that's bling, Jason Pominville is Mr. T. On second thought, I can't find a picture, but I remember Pommers having a chain on a lot. Am I wrong?
  17. Man, how great would it be if NFL teams could send guys back to college football (their minor league) to work on fundamentals.
  18. ????
  19. Riding on the backs of Stallions.
  20. Marc Rubio does, he had a whole thing about (I'm paraphrasing) "yesterday, a leader from yesterday announced her candidacy, today is not yesterday". I have no particular love of either Clinton, but man it would be awesome to see a reply along the lines of, "yesterday, as in the last time the federal government had a budget surplus, or yesterday as in the fairly steady economic growth of the last few years?" I'll be hard pressed to vote for a Clinton or Bush. 3 of the last 4 presidents (and one vice-president), stretching back 20 of the last 28 years (or 28 of 36 if you count that VP), is way too much time for two families to be in power.
  21. I just realized: he didn't specifically thank non-resident fans. That ######, I hate Teddy! I hate hate hate him! :P
  22. It could be both. After hours of interviews, maybe most of the players talked about how much the liked Nolan, etc., but if TM asked players what they learned over the season maybe the answers weren't good enough. We don't know, and can't know unless someone starts talking (unlikely) so I figure it's time to move on. I'll let the market decide: if Nolan is a head coach in the NHL next year it's possible TM got it wrong. If every other team passes on him, TM probably got it right.
  23. Speaking of which, does the new guy get to pick his own number or will be be #67 because that one is at the top of the laundry pile?
  24. The first source is mistaken: he's bent on destroying all of West(ern) New York's sporting teams. Watch out Bandits, and I hear he's even looking to destroy the Clippers; they can run to LA but they can't hide forever.
