  1. I'm surprised to see you write that, you've always been very pro-business, why would you complain when one was open? (;))
  2. :w00t: Hollywood is seriously running out of ideas, I wonder if they'll remake Best Friends any time soon.
  3. What does controlled entries mean then?
  4. Should we type-cast one of our overseas friends as the smarmy French guy that Sam has a phone number contest with?
  5. Can we pencil in SDS for Robin Coulcourt? Owns the bar, comes by from time to time to cause a ruckus. :)

I agree. The Sabres are going to need every penny of cap space down the road.
  7. If you told me the guy on the right was Steve Ott, I'd believe you.
  8. I was thinking TBJ for Paul. As of late, a little creepy. :)

    I was thinking Jean-Andre Gragnani, Marc-Andre's less-responsibe-in-his-own-end cousin.
  10. Don't apologize, you're certainly not off in left-field thinking those guys are JAG. McGinn seems to have a better chance of sticking, but I don't think Foligno quite has it. Still, that run with Ennis and Stafford is tantalizing if he could put that magic back together.
  11. I think having two JA Lines means the opposing team can focus on stopping the top two lines. Plus, I think the concept of Foligno playing well with Eichel would be good things for the future, more so than any bump that Gionta brings would be a long-term solution for Jack. I'd rather let Foligno skate there for a few games to see if they can start clicking. If Zemgus and Marcus start clicking with Jack and stay consistent, that could be a formidable line.
  12. How do we allocate Diane, Rebecca, and Carla?
  13. Those seem like the logical ones to me with the current roster, and each line scored a goal last night. How would you line them up differently? The only one I could see would be swapping Kane and McGinn, but ROR and McGinn generally play pretty well together.
  14. Fill us in on the flight attendant situation.
  15. The wording implies that the hurting an official is sufficient for 20 games, intent or not. (bold below) The linesman was in the hospital that night, if I remember right.
  16. Admiral Akbar with a Gionta jersey, hah! I also learned that in Canada, memes must be bilingual.
  17. I was thinking that if I were the right age, it would have been better received. :) Also, there's a fair bit of Luke Skywalker's spiritual journey in there if I remember right. EDIT: no, there's a LOT of Luke Skywalker in there. I'm not saying Star Wars invented that progression, but: young kid finds crazy old mentor. Mentor dies saving kid. Kid goes to train with new, crazy mentor, but leaves early to save his friends. Kid is all but lost to big, bad, evil until love swings the conflict the other way. (note, I still haven't seen NuStar Wars, please don't spoil it. This week, I promise! :)
  18. The book had some interesting ideas, but too much of it was cliche. I don't blame the author since he was like 16 when he wrote it, but it read like a fantasy novel a 16-year-old would write. By time I got to the third book, I was ready for the series to wrap up, only to see an interview that he decided to expand the (wooden) character's development into an entire extra book. At the time, the fourth book wasn't out and I didn't bother to get it. Some years later, I thought about it and checked the last book out of the library (ebook!) and read it. The one really redeeming quality of the story is that whats-his-face didn't end up happily-ever-after with whats-her-elf; I'm guessing twenty-something author had gone through some heartbreak and was feeling angsty that day.
  19. I had issue with Eragon as a book, the movie certainly didn't help.
  20. WRONG! Original 6 Canadian team, 10 games. Original 6 American team, 12.
  21. And plays for a Canadian team.
  22. I think #7 dmen are a backup goaltenders, Cola needs to play a game once in awhile too. :)
  23. I don't think you turn down anyone that wants to buy a suite (even if I feel like that's not a truly plausible scenario). If there's a waiting list for suites, raise the prices. :) Maybe I'm less worried about it since a single suite doesn't really matter that much; they'll be too busy choking down caviar to cheer (or in this case, salads with french fries).
  24. He doesn't have as much to trade this time around, so I don't know that we'll see the Kane/Myers/Stafford/Bogo mega deal. You'll certainly see some of the UFAs go, probably for mid to high picks. Maybe we see someone like Ennis or a Decent D go to get a LHD or RW back. Otherwise, I don't see too many guys on the NHL roster that I'm interested in moving unless the price is right.
  25. No kidding. in the same period (roughly 2002-) I grabbed a couple records just to see: Toronto: no Final 4. Ottawa: one Final-4 (and SCF Final loss). Montreal: one Final-4. Those are the first 3 I picked, and Ottawa is the only one that's better (by virtue of going to the SCF). It's not like Buffalo is some sad-sack for only going twice.
