  1. My sister is in town, so MrsPie and I went to Victory after RosePie went to sleep. Ranch R to start, Dirt Wolf second. Two 8+% beers is all I'm good for these days, but I'm sipping on some Bulleit Rye while watching the game.
  2. You might check meetup too. There are a few weekly pick-up meetups in this area and if you're OK and social I'm sure you could parlay that into finding a spot on someone's team that needs a body.
  3. If I wanted to watch Jonas Enroth highlights, I'd have just gone to NHL.com. :) I'd note though that the goalie in the video seems to have far slimmer pads than NHL-average, but it's tough to tell with all the scale issues going on there. FWIW, I look at it this way: we're the hockey %1 of fans, and we're here debating whether more goals would be good or bad at the cost of goaltenders; and it seems like the "more goals" crowd is ahead but that may be my confirmation bias. I can tell you what the other 99% of hockey fans probably aren't saying: man, I love these low scoring games, where guys skate up and down the ice shooting pucks into crowds in hopes that a couple go in". Personally, I liked the hockey of 2005-06 a lot better than the hockey of 2015-16.
  4. I'm not going to disagree with either, but I'm also not going to complain about it.
  5. I feel you, I'm only doing one vball night per week right now, I'd like to do two but I'm too out of shape for that. My feet and knees hated me the last few years.
  6. I have a tough time doing enough physical labor to make that work. That being said, I was starting to put on some muscle over the summer when I planted at least 20 shrubs and whatnot (in the crazy rocky soil in my yard), de-thatched the lawn by hand, and then wrestled the gas lawn aerator. Only down side is I was eating a ton too.
  7. If it didn't matter to the goal, he should have stayed on-side. I think the challenge being called by the coach is BS, but I'm not sure I care if the Toronto room made it part of it's standard review process.
  8. The team turned over almost 50% this year alone, never mind the fire sales of the years before that.
  9. Maybe at the Bundy ranch/compound.
  10. That's what the Sabres are doing with ROR. :) I'm a good ten years older than you it was the same stuff. To be honest, I remember the radio in the 90s being far more liberal than the 80s. Video games have been the boogey-man since then too, as were movies, music, and everything else you're talking about. I think I even remember being upset about it 10 years ago too. It might be a bit worse than it was, but that could also just be my perspective since it's different than what I grew up with. RosePIe has a pretty bump and abrasion on her head and face right now. She was sitting in the rocking chair and bonked her face when twisting to side down to the floor. Whoops, but it's not like it's the first time.
  11. I will probably watch it (as much as I watch any games these days). I'll either take care of some mindless work stuff or chores while it's on. I've been up until 12-1 AM all this week anyway.
  12. I hadn't had a chance to look at the matchups or lineups,, but I was thinking Weber would make a ton of sense for a team that's worried about toughness in the play-offs.
  13. I think you'll find 49.18 states the no two clones can be on the ice at the same time, other than during a line change at the linesman's discretion. However, there is the Sedin rule, where natural clones are exempted from this rule.
  14. Now that Mike Weber has been traded, I expect the dominos will start falling pretty quickly. :)
  15. I think the question is, why isn't this the policy for all non-violent criminals?
  16. Did you have a good national margarita day? http://nationalmargaritaday.com/

Is leaf blower a euphemism for the Toronto media?
  18. I'm with Wildcard on this one. Connolly was widely reviled when he was here, but since some articles have come to light that he's struggling mightily with what appear to be the after effects of his injuries from playing. Let's find someone equally reviled but without the seemingly tragic post-hockey story.

That's what we've been saying about the Bills and Pats for 15 years.
  20. There's a joke floating around on FB: I was a perfect parent until I had a baby. Trust me, the kid comes first *a lot*. Begrudging someone a few hours of fun time with their kid because it makes you uncomfortable isn't a good look. That being said, there's no way I'm taking a one month old to a game, if nothing else the sick and unvaccinated people could cause some serious issues with the kids health. If it wasn't a huge imposition for me where I live, I'd take RosePie to a game any day (she's 18 months). Rose likes when I put hockey on TV, I have no doubt she'd enjoy a live game. She enjoyed watching people at the EA outdoor rink around xmas. Come to think of it, I took her to a motorcycle race in the fall. Am I a bad parent? (not the same race, but the same guys)
  21. Fizban the Fabulous.
  22. Let's say more secure, financially, if not actually better off. The industry I work in tends to be more stable under Republicans, even if I'm not sure their financial polices are better for the country as a whole.
  23. Same with Cru jones. :)
  24. I think you meant Danny McCaskill style. It's all sand and alligators and snakes down there, right?
  25. I find it amusing that Trump being a political outsider, he may well be running one of the most typical politician ploys as the central (only?) tactic of his campaign: make promises to the voters that there's no way he will, or can, keep. This only makes sense if you believe all voters fall into one camp or the other, and that the politicians in each party always toe the line. I think a Sanders Presidency would be different than Clinton. I do agree that Clinton is closer to a moderate Republican than many Democrats. From a voter perspective, if you don't fall into one camp squarely, there can be a lot of internal debate as to which things matter most to me. Personally, I'd probably be better off financially under Republicans, but I can't get behind their social policies. Similarly, I don't have a huge issue with guns although I do believe there are improvements to the way their handled in the USA.
